Existing lithospheric velocity models exhibit similar structures typically associated with the first-order tectonic features, with dissimilarities due to different data and methods used in model generation. The quantification of model structural similarity can help in interpreting the geophysical properties of Earth's interior and establishing unified models crucial in natural hazard assessment and resource exploration. Here we employ the complex wavelet structural similarity index measure (CW-SSIM) active in computer image processing to analyze the structural similarity of four lithospheric velocity models of Chinese mainland published in the past decade. We take advantage of this method in its multiscale definition and insensitivity to slight geometrical distortion like translation and scaling, which is particularly crucial in the structural similarity analysis of velocity models accounting for uncertainty and resolution. Our results show that the CW-SSIM values vary in different model pairs, horizontal locations, and depths. While variations in the inter-model CW-SSIM are partly owing to different databases in the model generation, the difference of tomography methods may significantly impact the similar structural features of models, such as the low similarities between the full-wave based FWEA18 and other three models in northeastern China. We finally suggest potential solutions for the next generation of tomographic modeling in different areas according to corresponding structural similarities of existing models. © 2023 The Authors

Background: With public health emergencies (PHE) worldwide increasing, the perceived risk of PHE has been one of the critical factors influencing college students’ psychological distress. However, the mechanisms by which the perceived risk of PHE affects college students’ psychological distress are not clear. The study’s purpose was to investigate the mediation roles of deviation from a balanced time perspective (DBTP) and negative coping styles between the perceived risk of PHE and psychological distress. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to survey 1054 Chinese college students with self-reporting. Data was collected using the Public Risk Perception Scale (PRPS), the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI), the Simplified Coping Style questionnaire (SCSq), the PHE Anxiety Scale, and the Chinese version of the Patient Health questionnaire (PHq). The associations between the perceived risk of PHE, DBTP, negative coping styles, and psychological distress were clarified using the correlation analysis. Additionally, the mediating roles of DBTP and negative coping styles between the perceived risk of PHE and psychological distress were investigated using a structural equation model. Results: The findings revealed low to moderate correlations between the variables studied. Students’ perceived risk of PHE was a positive predictor of their psychological distress (b = 0.219, p < 0.01). DBTP and negative coping styles played chain mediation roles between them with the effect being 0.009 and a 95% Boot CI of [0.003, 0.023]. This chain mediation model had an excellent fit index (χ2/df = 4.732, CFI = 0.973, TLI = 0.930, RMSEA = 0.048, SRMR = 0.047). Conclusion: These findings showed how the perceived risk of PHE affected college students’ psychological distress. Surface waves have a considerable effect on vertical mixing in the upper *** the past two decades,the vertical mixing induced through nonbreaking surface waves has been used in ocean and climate models to improve the simulation of the upper *** far,several nonbreaking wave-induced mixing parameterization schemes have been proposed;however,no quantitative comparison has been performed among *** this paper,a one-dimensional ocean model was used to compare the performances of five schemes,including those of qiao et al.(q),Hu and Wang(HW),Huang and qiao(Hq),Pleskachevsky et al.(P),and Ghantous and Babanin(GB).Similar to previous studies,all of these schemes can decrease the simulated sea surface temperature(SST),increase the subsurface temperature,and deepen the mixed layer,thereby alleviating the common thermal deviation problem of the ocean model for upper ocean *** these schemes,the Hq scheme exhibited the weakest wave-induced mixing effect,and the HW scheme exhibited the strongest effect;the other three schemes exhibited roughly the same *** particular,the q and P schemes exhibited nearly the same *** the simulation based on observations from the Ocean Weather Station Papa,the Hq scheme exhibited the best performance,followed by the q *** the experiment with the Hq scheme,the root-mean-square deviation of the simulated SST from the observations was 0.43℃,and the mixed layer depth(MLD)was 2.0 *** a contrast,the deviations of the SST and MLD reached 1.25℃ and 8.4 m,respectively,in the experiment without wave-induced mixing.

BACKGROUND Bile duct stones(BDSs)may cause patients to develop liver cirrhosis or even liver ***,the success rate of surgical treatment for intrahepatic and extrahepatic BDSs is not satisfactory,and there is a risk of postoperative *** To compare the clinical effects of dual-modality endoscopy(duodenoscopy and laparoscopy)with those of traditional laparotomy in the treatment of intra-and extrahepatic *** Ninety-five patients with intra-and extrahepatic BDSs who sought medical services at Wuhan No.1 Hospital between August 2019 and May 2023 were selected;45 patients in the control group were treated by traditional laparotomy,and 50 patients in the research group were treated by dual-modality *** following factors were collected for analysis:curative effects,safety(incision infection,biliary fistula,lung infection,hemobilia),surgical factors[surgery time,intraoperative blood loss(IBL)volume,gastrointestinal function recovery time,and length of hospital stay],serum inflammatory markers[tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,interleukin(IL)-6,and IL-8],and oxidative stress[glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA),and advanced protein oxidation products(AOPPs)].RESULTS The analysis revealed markedly better efficacy(an obviously higher total effective rate)in the research group than in the control *** addition,an evidently lower postoperative complication rate,shorter surgical duration,gastrointestinal function recovery time and hospital stay,and lower IBL volume were observed in the research ***,the posttreatment serum inflammatory marker(TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-8)levels were significantly lower in the research group than in the control *** with those in the control group,the posttreatment GSH-Px,SOD,MDA and AOPPs in the research group were equivalent to the pretreatment levels;for example,the GSH-Px and SOD levels were significantly higher,while the MDA and AOPP levels were

When seismic waves propagate through the geological formation, there is a significant loss of energy and a decrease in imaging resolution, because of the viscoacoustic properties of subsurface medium. This profoundly impacts seismic wavefield propagation, imaging and interpretation. To accurately image the true structure of subsurface medium, the consensus among geophysicists is to no longer treat subsurface medium as ideal homogeneous medium, but rather to incorporate the viscoacoustic properties of subsurface medium. Based on the generalized screen propagator using conventional acoustic wave equation(acoustic GSP), our developed method introduces viscoacoustic compensation strategy, and derives a one-way wave generalized screen propagator based on time-fractional viscoacoustic wave equation(viscoacoustic GSP). In numerical experiments, we conducted tests on two-dimensional multi-layer model and the Marmousi model. When comparing with the acoustic GSP using the acoustic data, we found that the imaging results of the viscoacoustic GSP using the viscoacoustic data showed a significant attenuation compensation effect, and achieved imaging results for both algorithms were essentially consistent. However, the imaging results of acoustic GSP using viscoacoustic data showed significant attenuation effects, especially for deep subsurface imaging. This indicates that we have proposed an effective method to compensate the attenuated seismic wavefield. Our application on a set of real seismic data demonstrated that the imaging performance of our proposed method in local areas surpassed that of the conventional acoustic GSP. This suggests that our proposed method holds practical value and can more accurately image real subsurface structures while enhancing imaging resolution compared with the conventional acoustic GSP.
