MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of single-stranded and non-coding endogenous RNAs with 18-25 nucleotides in length. By binding to the complementary sequences in the 3’untranslated region (3’UTR) of protein coding genes， miRNAs regulate posttranscriptionally the mRNA expression of target genes and enzymes involved in various biological processes. The application of high-throughput sequencing， bioinformatics analysis， and novel detection methods has high-lighted promising roles of miRNAs as both novel biomarkers for tumor diagnosis and critical regulators involved in almost all stages of carcinogenesis including cancer initiation， promotion and progression. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG)， the most investigated active catechin in green tea， has been linked to various health-promoting benefits including chemoprevention and treatment of cancers. In this review， we first present a brief description of EGCG and its major metabolic pathway. It is followed by reviewing the roles of EGCG in the modulation of oncogenic and tumor suppressing miRNAs in some common cancers. These findings suggest that the capacity of EGCG to regulate expression of specific miRNAs provides insights of its new mechanisms of action underlying its chemopreventive and potential beneficial activities against various cancers.

Objective: Striatins(STRNs) family, which contains three multi-domain scaffolding proteins, are cornerstones of the striatins interacting phosphatase and kinase(STRIPAK) complex. Although the role of the STRIPAK complex in cancer has become recognized in recent years, its clinical significance in breast cancer has not been fully ***: Using a freshly frozen breast cancer tissue cohort containing both cancerous and adjacent normal mammary tissues, we quantitatively evaluated the transcript-level expression of all members within the STRIPAK complex along with some key interacting and regulatory proteins of STRNs. The expression profile of each molecule and the integrated pattern of the complex members were assessed against the clinical-pathological factors of the patients. The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) dataset was used to evaluate the breast cancer patients’ response to chemotherapies. Four human breast cancer cell lines, MDA-MB-231, MDA-MB-361, MCF-7, and SKBR-3, were subsequently adopted for in vitro ***: Here we found that high-level expressions of STRIP2, calmodulin, CCM3, MINK1 and SLMAP were respectively associated with shorter overall survival(OS) of patients. Although the similar pattern observed for STRN3, STRN4 and a contrary pattern observed for PPP2CA, PPP2CB and PPPR1A were not significant, the integrated expression profile of STRNs group and PPP2 group members constitutes a highly significant prognostic indicator for OS [P<0.001, hazard ratio(HR)=2.04, 95% confidence interval(95% CI), 1.36-3.07] and disease-free survival(DFS)(P=0.003, HR=1.40, 95% CI, 1.12-1.75). Reduced expression of STRN3 has an influence on the biological functions including adhesiveness and migration. In line with our clinical findings, the breast cancer cells responded to STRN3 knockdown with changes in their chemo-sensitivity, of which the response is also breast cancer subtype ***: Our results suggest a possible role of the STRIPAK complex

A set of laboratory experiments are carried out to investigate the effect of following/opposing currents on wave *** vegetation canopies with aligned and staggered configurations were tested under the condition of various regular wave heights and current velocities,with the constant water depth being 0.60 m to create the desired submerged *** show that the vegetation-induced wave dissipation is enhanced with the increasing incident wave height.A larger velocity magnititude leads to a greater wave height attenuation for both following and opposing current ***,there is a strong positive linear correlation between the damping coefficientβand the relative wave height H_(0)/h,especially for pure wave *** the velocity profile,the distributions of U_(min)and U_(max)show different patterns under combined wave and *** time-averaged turbulent kinetic energy(TKE)vary little under pure wave and U_(c)=±0.05 m/s *** the increase of flow velocity amplitude,the time-averaged TKE shows a particularly pronounced increase trend at the top of the *** vegetation drag coefficients are obtained by a calibration *** empirical relations of drag coefficient with Reynolds and Keulegane-Carpenter numbers are proposed to further understand the wave-current-vegetation interaction mechanism.

XRL-SHAP-Cache:an explainable reinforcement learning approach for intelligent edge service caching in content delivery networks

Content delivery networks(CDNs) play a pivotal role in the modern internet infrastructure by enabling efficient content delivery across diverse geographical regions. As an essential component of CDNs, the edge caching scheme directly influences the user experience by determining the caching and eviction of content on edge servers. With the emergence of 5G technology, traditional caching schemes have faced challenges in adapting to increasingly complex and dynamic network environments. Consequently, deep reinforcement learning(DRL) offers a promising solution for intelligent zero-touch network governance. However, the blackbox nature of DRL models poses challenges in understanding and making trusting decisions. In this paper,we propose an explainable reinforcement learning(XRL)-based intelligent edge service caching approach,namely XRL-SHAP-Cache, which combines DRL with an explainable artificial intelligence(XAI) technique for cache management in CDNs. Instead of focusing solely on achieving performance gains, this study introduces a novel paradigm for providing interpretable caching strategies, thereby establishing a foundation for future transparent and trustworthy edge caching solutions. Specifically, a multi-level cache scheduling framework for CDNs was formulated theoretically, with the D3qN-based caching scheme serving as the targeted interpretable model. Subsequently, by integrating Deep-SHAP into our framework, the contribution of each state input feature to the agent's q-value output was calculated, thereby providing valuable insights into the decision-making process.
