Gene cloning in repeat-rich polyploid genomes remains ***,we describe a strategy for overcoming major bottlenecks in cloning of the powdery mildew resistance gene(R-gene)Pm69 derived from tetraploid wild emmer wheat.A conventional positional cloning approach was not effective owing to suppressed *** sorting was compromised by insufficient purity.A Pm69 physical map,constructed by assembling Oxford Nanopore Technology(ONT)long-read genome sequences,revealed a rapidly evolving nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat(NLR)R-gene cluster with structural variations.A single candidate NLR was identified by anchoring RNA sequencing reads from susceptible mutants to ONT contigs and was validated by virus-induced gene ***69 is likely a newly evolved NLR and was discovered in only one location across the wild emmer wheat distribution range in ***69 was successfully introgressed into cultivated wheat,and a diagnostic molecular marker was used to accelerate its deployment and pyramiding with other R-genes.

Various azo compounds(Modified dyes)have been synthesised by chemical modification of areca nut extract(epicate-chin),a plant-based Polyphenolic compound to get semi-synthetic *** different primary amines namely p-nitro aniline,p-anisidine and aniline,were diazotized to form their corresponding diazonium salts which were further coupled with an areca nut *** characterization of the areca nut extract and the resultant azo compounds(Modified dyes)was carried out in terms of melting point,solubility tests,thin layer chromatography,UV-Visible and FTIR *** modified dyes were further applied on polyester and nylon fabrics and%dye exhaustion was *** fabrics were further tested for their fastness properties such as wash fastness,rubbing fastness,light fastness and sublimation *** results of the fastness tests indicate that,all the three modified dyes have good dyeability for polyester and nylon *** dyed fabrics were also tested for ultraviolet protection factor which showed very good ultraviolet protection.

Minimal Hepatic Encephalopathy in Indians:Psychometric Hepatic Encephalopathy Score and Inhibitory Control Test for Diagnosis and Rifaximin or Lactulose for Its Reversal

background and Aims: Psychometric hepatic encephalop-athy score(PHES)is used widely for diagnosis of minimal hepatic encephalopathy(MHE).This prospective study aimed to determine the utility of the inhibitory control test(ICT)for the diagnosis of ***,the efficacy of rifaximin and lactulose for reversal of MHE was ***:A total of 180 eligible cirrhotic patients underwent testing for *** PHES was ≤ ?5 and ICT lures were ≥ 14,MHE was *** 108 patients with MHE were randomized to three groups for treatment with either lactulose,rifaximin,or *** outcomes were measured at the end of 3 ***: The 108 patients with MHE diagnosed by PHES and/or ICT accounted for 60%.The diagnosis of MHE was made by both ICT and PHES positivity in 56 patients,by abnormal ICT and normal PHES in 37 patients,and by abnor-mal PHES and normal ICT in 15 *** diagnosis of MHE,ICT had sensitivity of 78.87%,specificity of 66.06%with 60.22%positive predictive value and 82.76%negative predictive *** area under the curve value of 0.724(95%CI: 0.653–0.788)was obtained for diagnosis of *** of MHE was seen in 71.42%,70.27%and 11.11%of patients in the rifaximin,lactulose and placebo arms(p better tolerability compared to ***: For the diagnosis of MHE,ICT is a simple tool but has lower sensitivity and better specificity than *** is as efficacious as lactulose in the treat-ment of MHE and better tolerated.

Microalgal bioremediation of food-processing industrial wastewater under mixotrophic conditions： Kinetics and scaleup approach

The Chlorella microalgae were mixotrophically cultivated in an unsterilized and unfikered raw foodprocessing industrial wastewater. both inorganic carbon （CO2-air） and organic carbon （wastewater） were provided simultaneously for microalgae growth. The aim of the study is to find out the utilization rates of total organic carbon （TOC） and chemical oxygen demand （COD） under mixotrophic conditions for a given waste water. About 90% reduction in TOC and COD were obtained for all dilutions of wastewater. Over 60% of nitrate and 40% of phosphate were consumed by microalgae from concentrated raw wastewater. This study shows that microalgae can use both organic and inorganic sources of carbon in more or less quantity under mixotrophic conditions. The growth of microalgae in food-processing industrial wastewater with all studied dilution factors, viz. zero （raw）, 1.6 （dilution A）, and 5 （dilution b） suggests that the freshwater requirement could be reduced substantially （20%-60%）. The degradation kinetics also suggests that the microalgae cultivation on a high COD wastewater is feasible and scalable.

The oxalate co-precipitation method was used to synthesize the La3+substituted Ni-Cu-Zn(La-NCZ)nanoferrites having chemical composition Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.1)Zn_(0.2)LaxFe_(2-x)O_(4)(x=0.015,0.025 and 0.035).DC resistivity study of nanoferrites shows both the conducting and semiconducting *** room temperature DC electrical resistivity of Ni-Cu-Zn(NCZ)nanoferrites decreases,whereas Curie temperature increases with increasing La^(3+)*** the temperature range of 30-170℃nanoferrites show p-type semiconducting behavior except x=0.015;thereafter,they show n-type *** frequency dispersive initial permeability(μi)associated with its real and imaginary(μ’andμ")parts are attributed to the domain wall movement and magnetic spin ***μi,u’andμ"of La-NCZ nanoferrites are higher than those of pure NCZ *** constant(ε’),dielectric loss(ε")and AC resistivity(ρAC)of La-NCZ nanoferrites show normal dielectric *** is found thatε’of NCZ nanoferrites decreases with the increasing content of La3+*** bandgap energy of La-NCZ nanoferrites is achieved in the range 1.36-1.70 eV confirming the semiconducting nature of materials.

A convenient synthesis of quino[2,3-b] [ 1,5]benzoxazepines from substituted 2-chloroquinoline-3-carbaldehyde and 2-hydroxy- aniline by using stable, non-toxic and inexpensive catalyst 1,8-diazabicyclo-undecan-7-ene （DbU）/silica gel is described. This method affords the quino[2,3-b][1,5]benzoxazepines under the influence of microwave irradiation （360 W） in solvent-free conditions within short reaction times （2-3 min）, giving high yields of products （93-96%）.

The dielectric properties of binary mixtures of benzylamine-1,2,6-hexantriol mixtures at different volume fractions of 1,2,6-hexanetriol have been measured using Time Domain Reflectometry(TDR)technique in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 30 *** permittivity spectra were fitted using Havriliak-Negami *** using least square fit method the dielectric parameters such as static dielectric constant(ε_(0)),dielectric constant at high frequency(ε_(∞)),relaxation timeτ(ps)and relaxation distribution parameter(β)were extracted from complex permittivity spectra at 25℃.The intramolecular interaction of different molecules has been discussed using the Kirkwood correlation factor,bruggeman *** Kirkwood correlation factor(gf)and effective Kirkwood correlation factor(g^(eff))indicate the dipole ordering of the binary mixtures.

This method has the advantages of high yields, short reaction time, simple starting materials and reusability of catalyst for several times.

Water distribution network(WDN)leakage management has received increased attention in recent *** of the most successful leakage-control strategies is to divide the network into District Metered Areas(DMAs).As a multi-staged technique,the generation of DMAs is a difficult task in design and implementation(i.e.,clustering,sectorization,and performance evaluation).Previous studies on DMAs implementation did not consider the potential use of existing valves in achieving the *** this work,a methodology is proposed for detecting clusters and reducing the cost of additional valves and DMA sectorization by considering existing valves as much as *** procedure of DMAs identification has been divided into three stages,i.e.,a)clusters identification;b)sectorization or boundaries optimization and c)performance evaluation of the partitioned *** proposed methodology is evaluated on a simple network and a real-world water network with the findings provided and compared to the DMAs,established for a raw water network with no existing *** is found that there is an adequate difference in cost of strategy implementation in both the cases for the network under consideration and the existing valve system achieved better network performance in terms of resilience index.

Evaluating effectiveness and acceptance of advanced driving assistance systems using field operational test

A large number of reported road collisions are caused by driver inattention,and inappropriate driving *** study investigated the effectiveness and acceptance of Advanced Driving Assistance Systems(ADAS)for driver age groups,gender,occupation(professional/non-professional),and road type(expressway,urban roads,and semi-urban road)based on the Field Operational Test(FOT).The ADAS is provided with assistance features,such as Lane Departure Warning(LDW),Forward Collision Warning(FCW),and Traffic Speed Recognition Warning(TSRW).In total,the FOT involved 30 participants who drove the test vehicle twice(once in the stealth phase and once in the active phase).The FOT included three sections:expressway(20.60 km),urban road(7.2 km),and semi-urban road(13.35 km).A questionnaire was used to determine user acceptance of the ADAS *** addition,parametric and non-parametric statistical tests were carried out to determine ADAS's significant *** FOT results showed statistically significant differences in the LDW’s acceptance and effectiveness for gender,age group,occupation,and road type before and after exposure to *** participants showed significant lateral behavior improvement compared to female ***-aged drivers scored the highest acceptance score for the technology compared to middle and young-aged *** subjective ratings ranked the assistance features in descending order as TSRW,LDW,and *** study’s findings can support policy development and induce trust in the public for the technology adoption to improve road traffic safety.
