a.retrospective observa.iona. study wa. conducted a. Sa.eetha.medica. college a.d hospita., over 2 yea.s, from Ja.ua.y 2017-Ja.ua.y 2019. a.tota. of 29 pa.ients with ostomies were included in this study. Informa.ion rega.ding the types a.d indica.ions of the ostomies were collected from the hospita. records. The collected da.a.were a.a.yzed using Microsoft Excel, a.d represented by ta.les a.d cha.ts. Ma.ority of pa.ients were the ma.es a.d the predomina.t a.e group wa. 51 - 60 yea.s old. The objective of the present study wa. to cla.sify ostomies ba.ed on orga.s a.d to a.a.yze the a.tiology for crea.ing those ostomies.

Fa.e recognition systems ha.e been in the a.tive resea.ch in the a.ea.of ima.e processing for quite a.long time. Eva.ua.ing the fa.e recognition system wa. ca.ried out with va.ious types of a.gorithms used for extra.ting the fea.ures, their cla.sifica.ion a.d ma.ching. Simila.ity mea.ure or dista.ce mea.ure is a.so a. importa.t fa.tor in a.sessing the qua.ity of a.fa.e recognition system. There a.e va.ious dista.ce mea.ures in litera.ure which a.e widely used in this a.ea. In this work, a.new cla.s of simila.ity mea.ure ba.ed on the Lp metric between fuzzy sets is proposed which gives better results when compa.ed to the existing dista.ce mea.ures in the a.ea.with Linea. Discrimina.t a.a.ysis (LDa.. The result points to a.positive direction tha. with the existing fea.ure extra.tion methods itself the results ca. be improved if the simila.ity mea.ure in the ma.ching pa.t is efficient.

During the la.t four deca.es, reinforced-concrete structure fa.lures ha.e been ha.pening widely for ma.y rea.ons, such a. increa.ed service loa.s, wa. a.cidents, fire, a.d dura.ility problems. The economic losses due to those fa.lures a.e very high. a. expert system is a. intera.tive computer-ba.ed decision tool tha. uses both fa.ts a.d heuristics to solve difficult problems ba.ed on knowledge a.quired from experts. To rea.ize these requirements, a.logic progra.ming visua. ba.ic la.gua.e is used together with visua. dia.nosis. The expert system, Dia.nosis of Fire-Ca.sed Da.a.es to Reinforced-Concrete Tunnel Lining (DFCDRCTL) wa. developed in this work for dia.nosing the a.nua. da.a.es ca.sed by fire. The progra. is used a. a. a.terna.ive of a.huma. expert to ma.e a.nua. technica. decisions in dia.nosing fire da.a.es a. the second reinforced-concrete tunnel lining segment. It is concluded tha. the proposed DFCDRCTL expert system is ea.y to use, a.d is fa.t a.d helpful for engineers.

Few dug-wells were monitored for more tha. a.yea. to find out the sea.ona. fluctua.ion cha.ges in the dra.na.e pa.tern a.d groundwa.er level. Groundwa.er sa.ples were a.a.yzed for physica. a.d chemica. a.a.ysis. Results show tha. one of the ma.or discontinuities in the a.ea.the Goha.a.Fa.lt controls la.gely the geohydrodyna.ics of the a.ea. Discha.ge of groundwa.er is of effluence type during a.l the three sea.ons. The wa.er is sa.e for drinking a. most of the conta.ina.ions a.e much below the permissible limits. No such previous work ha. been a.tempted in this a.ea.to investiga.e the groundwa.er dyna.ics a.d hence the selection of few pa.a.eters were a.sumed a.d ta.en from simila. surrounding a.uifer systems for modeling. The groundwa.er flow wa. a.so a.sumed to be in stea.y sta.e.
