Impact of non-ideal UE hardware on cell-free massive MIMO network with centralized operation

This paper investigates the impact of non-ideal user equipment(UE) hardware on a cell-free(CF) massive MIMO(mMIMO) network with centralized operation under spatially correlated channels. The minimum mean-squared error(MMSE) estimator can be derived with the help of the generic non-ideal UE hardware model. It is demonstrated that even if the effective signal-to-noise ratio approaches infinity, pilot contamination and imperfect hardware can cause a non-zero estimation error floor. After that, a lower bound is determined for the ergodic uplink capacity of the centralized CF mMIMO network under non-ideal UE hardware. Moreover, the optimal receive combining vector is obtained to maximize the uplink spectral efficiency(SE). The maximum ratio(MR) and regularized zero-forcing(RZF) combining schemes are offered as alternatives in light of the computational complexity of the MMSE receiver. Comparing the RZF to the MMSE scheme under different levels of hardware impairments, our findings indicate that the RZF receiver suffers a negligible loss in total SE. For MR combining, a novel closed-form uplink achievable SE expression is obtained based on the MMSE estimator and the use-and-then-forget bounding technique. This expression gives vital insights into the achievable uplink performance with UE hardware impairments. Besides, for various hardware impairment factors, the impact of pilot sequence length on average sum SE is disclosed for different receive combining schemes. To increase the overall SE of the max-min fairness scheme, a heuristic fractional power control scheme with UE hardware impairments is developed, which can essentially avoid sacrificing the SE of other UEs while maximizing the SE of the unluckiest UE in the whole network. Finally,our theoretical performance analysis and power control algorithm are validated by simulation results, and fundamental design guidelines are provided for selecting hardware satisfying the practical UE requirements.

The increasing demand for industrial automation and intelligence has put forward higher requirements for the reliability of industrial wireless communication *** an international standard based on 802.11,Wireless networks for Industrial Automation-Factory Automation(WIA-FA)greatly improves the reliability in factory automation scenarios by Time Division Multiple Access(TDMA).However,in ultra-dense WIA-FA networks with mobile users,the basic connection management mechanism is *** of the handover and resource management algorithms are all based on frequency division multiplexing,not suitable for the TDMA in the WIA-FA ***,we propose Load-aware Connection Management(LACM)algorithm to adjust the linkage and balance the load of access devices to avoid blocking and improve the reliability of the *** then we simulate the algorithm to find the optimal settings of the *** comparing with other existing algorithms,the result of the simulation proves that LACM is more efficient in reliability and maintains high reliability of more than 99.8%even in the ultra-dense moving scenario with 1500 field ***,this algorithm ensures that only a few signaling exchanges are required to ensure load bal-ancing,which is no more than 5 times,and less than half of the best state-of-the-art algorithm.

Distributed Cell-Free Massive MIMO Versus Cellular Massive MIMO Under UE Hardware Impairments

This paper first investigates and compares the uplink spectral efficiency(SE) of distributed cell-free(CF) massive multiple-input multiple-output(mMIMO) and cellular mMIMO networks, both with user equipment(UE) hardware impairments. We derive a lower bound on the uplink ergodic channel capacity of the cellular mMIMO with UE hardware impairments, based on which we determine the optimal receive combining that maximizes the instantaneous effective signal-to-interference-and-noise ratio. Then, a lower bound on the uplink capacity of a distributed CF mMIMO with UE hardware impairments is derived using the use-and-then-forget technique. On this basis, the optimum large-scale fading decoding vector is found using generalized Rayleigh entropy. By using three combining schemes of minimum mean-square error(MMSE), regularized zero-forcing(RZF), and maximum ratio, the uplink SEs of distributed CF mMIMO and cellular mMIMO networks are analyzed and compared. The results show that the two-layer decoding distributed CF mMIMO network with MMSE combining outperforms the cellular mMIMO network, and the advantage is more evident as the hardware impairment factor increases. Finally, the uplink energy efficiency(EE) of the distributed CF mMIMO networks is analyzed and evaluated through the established realistic power consumption model with hardware impairments. Simulation results show that two-layer decoding provides higher SE and EE than single-layer decoding. In addition, RZF achieves almost the same SE and EE as MMSE in a two-layer decoding architecture.

针对车联网动态不确定特性、业务类型多元化以及无线通信资源稀缺性,研究了蜂窝车联网车与网络(vehicle-to-network,V2N)和车与车(vehicle-to-vehicle,V2V)链路共存且共享频谱场景下保证业务多指标需求和无线资源有效利用的问题.首先建立多目标优化问题模型来表示蜂窝车联网信道选择和功率控制的决策过程,该问题考虑了网络环境动态变化的影响,旨在实现优化目标V2V链路的性能(即信息年龄、延迟以及传输速率)和V2N链路传输速率之间的权衡.在此基础上,提出了基于多目标深度强化学习的车车通信无线资源分配算法进行神经网络训练和问题求解.通过训练好的神经网络模型可以得到多目标优化问题的帕累托前沿.仿真实验表明,所提出算法能够有效地权衡不同通信链路可实现的性能.与4种有代表性的算法比较,V2V链路信息年龄降低12.0%~17.2%,V2N链路传输速率提升11.4%~21.6%,V2V链路传输成功率提高4.6~13.91个百分点,决策延迟时间降低10.6%~20.3%.

A fast parallel SC-fano decoding algorithm for PAC codes

In order to efectively reduce the “decoding latency” of successive cancellation decoding aided fano(SC-fano) decoder employed in polarization-adjusted convolutional(PAC) codes, a fast parallel SCfano decoding algorithm is designed, which leverages multiple individual decoding components. Critical challenges arise from how to appropriately initialize the thresholds of diferent SC-fano decoding components and how will these decoding components cooperate with each other. After appropriately overcoming these challenges, our design is capable of halving the “decoding latency” without incurring any noticeable frame error rate(FER) performance degradation, meanwhile, the overall computational complexity is normally constrained below one and a half times of that required by conventional SC-fano decoders in simulated typical configurations.

针对时域脉冲信号样本的射频指纹提取与深度学习模型的可解释性,提出了一种基于Grad-CAM的重要区域可视化呈现方法,并通过重要区域的多次掩码测试,来分析重要区域对射频指纹识别结果的影响。基于10个辐射源的信号样本,对比了层数不同的两种ResNet模型的测试结果。测试发现该方法能够区分不同类型信号并呈现个体差异。分析表明,该方法能够发现不同辐射源发送相同信号时的重要区域定位差异,能可视化反映辐射源个体特征的空间距离,以及不同模型的特征表征与指纹定位准确度差异;同时发现对重要区域的掩码更容易产生误预测,证明特定信号存在与时频特征相关的射频指纹,并可辅助可视化定位影响射频指纹样本识别的关键点。

Active device detection and performance analysis of massive non-orthogonal transmissions in cellular Internet of Things

This paper investigates multiple access schemes for uplink and downlink transmissions in cellular networks with massive Internet of Things(IoT) devices. Recall that single-carrier frequency division multiple access and orthogonal frequency division multiple access, which are orthogonal multiple access(OMA) schemes, have been conventionally adopted for uplink and downlink transmissions in narrow-band IoT, respectively. Unlike these OMA schemes, we propose two non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)schemes for cellular IoT with short-packet transmissions. Especially, a generalized expectation consistent signal recovery-based algorithm is proposed to estimate active devices, channel state information and data in uplink transmission, where all of the active devices are allowed to transmit their pilots and data through the same resource block without authorization. On the other hand, the active devices estimated during uplink transmission are grouped for downlink transmission with a trade-off between performance and detection complexity. Additionally, the data error rates are analysed for both uplink and downlink transmissions with low-resolution analog-to-digital converters(ADCs), where the effects of critical parameters such as the estimation error, ADC bits, packet length, and message bits are revealed. Both simulation and analytical results are provided to demonstrate the excellent performance of the proposed NOMA schemes and algorithms, especially for active device, channel, and data estimations. More importantly, the obtained results show that the data error rate performance of downlink NOMA is superior to that of OMA when the message bits of devices in one group are selected following the proposed strategy.
