Comprehensive investigation on the structural,electronic and mechanical properties of T-Mg_(32)(Al,Zn)_(49)phases in Al-Mg-Zn alloys

In the development process of crossover aluminum alloys,T-Mg_(32)(Al,Zn)_(49)phases play a significant role in the precipitation strengthening ***,comprehensive understandings of the structural characteristics,interactions among alloying elements,mechanical property dependence on composition variation,effects of doping and defects *** still inadequate.A combination of density functional theory(DFT)calculations and special quasi-random structures(SQSs)was applied to investigate the formation energies,lattice parameters,electronic structures and mechanical properties of the disordered T-phases,as well as the effects of possible defects and alloying *** formation energy and lattice constant of the T-phase gradually vary from 0 to-0.12 eV/atom and from 1.460 to 1.405 nm,respectively,with increasing Zn ***-3d orbitals exhibit stronger hybridization with Al-3s than Mg-3s orbitals,and this is further enhanced by increasing Zn contents,leading to improved covalency and mechanical properties of the *** T-phases show good ductility according to the Poisson's ratio ν,Cauchy's pressure and G/*** A site is more favorable to remain vacant in Al-rich and Zn-poor environments,which is consistent with the previous experimental *** alloying elements,Zn atoms tends to occupy Al atoms at the B,C and F sites and Mg atoms at the G *** Cu and Ag elements can decrease the formation energy of T-phases and possibly produce a greater number of T-phases during the precipitation *** effect of Ag is more significant relative to Cu due to the deeper orbital *** computational results show good agreement with previous experimental data and provide new insights into the compositional design of new Al-Mg-Zn alloys.

Rational design of vitamin C/defective carbon van der Waals heterostructure for enhanced activity,durability and storage stability toward oxygen reduction reaction

Metal-free defective carbon materials with abundant active sites have been widely studied as low-cost and efficient oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)electrocatalysts in metal-air ***,the active sites in defective carbon are easily subjected to serious oxidation or hydroxylation during ORR or storage,leading to rapid degradation of ***,we design a van der Waals heterostructure comprised of vitamin C(VC)and defective carbon(DC)to not only boost the activity but also enhance the durability and storage stability of the DC-VC *** formation of VC van der Waals between DC and VC is demonstrated to be an effective strategy to protect the defect active sites from oxidation and hydroxylation degradation,thus significantly enhancing the electrochemical durability and storage anti-aging ***,the DC-VC van der Waals can reduce the reaction energy barrier to facilitate the *** findings are also confirmed by operando Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory *** is necessary to mention that the preparation of this DC-VC electrocatalyst can be scaled up,and the ORR performance of the largely produced electrocatalyst is demonstrated to be very ***,the DC-VC-based aluminum-air batteries display very competitive power density with good performance maintenance.

Improving strength-ductility synchronously of Electron beam welded Ti600/Ti2AlNb joint through isothermal forging

Different alloys can be flexibly combined to meet the performance needs of different parts of the compressor disc by welding process. However, achieving a good combination of dissimilar alloys with different mechanical properties has always been a research difficulty. In this work, a Ti600/Ti2AlNb joint was fabricated through electron beam welding and an isothermal forging was used to optimized its microstructure and mechanical performance. The isothermal forging process increases the ultimate tensile strength（UST） and yield strength（YS）of the Ti600/Ti2AlNb joint by ～18 %, while ～2.5 times the ductility. It is indicated that before forging, the Ti600/Ti2AlNb joint exhibits a much lower strength than that of Ti600 matrix, whereas the opposite is true after isothermal forging. The isothermal forging broken the coarse columnar grains of Ti600/Ti2AlNb joint and render to an equiaxed B2 structure in which the acicular α2and O phase are precipitated, resulting a synchronous enhancement of strength and ductility. This work may pave an effective routine for improving the comprehensive mechanical properties of dissimilar metal welding joint.

Rare earth high-entropy alloys(RE-HEAs)exhibit great potential to be applied as refrigerants due to their good comprehensive magnetocaloric *** this work,octary GdTbDyHoErTmCoAl and GdTbDyHoErTmCoNi RE-HEAs with amorphous/nanocrystalline structure exhibiting comparable magnetocaloric effect were *** RE-HEAs show a second-order magnetic phase transition in the temperature range of hydrogen *** to the complex magnetic interactions,a spin glasslike behavior at low temperatures is observed in the RE-HEAs.A superior magnetocaloric effect is obtained in the nanocrystalline GdTbDyHoErTmCoNi high-entropy alloy that is multiphase attributed to a stronger magnetic exchange interaction when compared with the other that exhibits single amorphous *** heterogeneous microstructure,homogeneous chemical distributions are observed in the partially crystallized high-entropy *** addition,the magnetocaloric effect and magnetic transition behavior of rare earth medium-and high-entropy alloys,including the RE-HEAs in this study,are summarized and *** results in this work provide a helpful guide for the design of RE-HEAs for hydrogen liquefaction applications with excellent magnetocaloric effects.

Experimental investigation on coal pore-fracture variation and fractal characteristics synergistically affected by solvents for improving clean gas extraction

Chemical solvents instead of pure water being as hydraulic fracturing fluid could effectively increase permeability and improve clean methane extraction ***,pore-fracture variation features of lean coal synergistically affected by solvents have not been fully *** testing,nuclear magnetic resonance analysis,liquid phase mass spectrometry was adopted to comprehensively analyze pore-fracture change characteristics of lean coal treated by combined solvent(NMP and CS_(2)).Meanwhile,quantitative characterization of above changing properties was conducted using geometric fractal *** model between permeability,fractal dimension and porosity were *** indicate that the end face fractures of coal are well developed after CS2and combined solvent treatments,of which,end face box-counting fractal dimensions range from 1.1227 to *** decreases in ultrasonic longitudinal wave velocity of coal affected by NMP,CS_(2)and combined solvent are 2.700%,20.521%,22.454%,*** treatments could lead to increasing amount of both mesopores and *** ratio of fractal dimension Dsis 0.259%–2.159%,while permeability increases ratio of NMR ranges from 0.1904 to ***,combined solvent could dissolve coal polar and non-polar small molecules and expand flow *** could provide reference for solvent selection and parameter optimization of permeability-enhancement technology.

Synthesis of uniform two-dimensional MoS_(2) films via thermal evaporation

Two-dimensional(2D)molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))holds great potential for various applications such as electronic devices,catalysis,lubrication,anti-corrosion and so *** evaporation is a versatile thin film deposition technique,however,the conventional thermal evaporation techniques face challenges in producing uniform thin films of MoS_(2) due to its high melting temperature of 1375℃.As a result,only thick and rough MoS_(2) films can be obtained using these *** address this issue,we have designed a vacuum thermal evaporation system specifically for large-scale preparation of MoS_(2) thin *** using K2MoS4 as the precursor,we achieved reliable deposition of uniform polycrystalline MoS_(2) thin films with a size of 50 mm×50 mm and controllable thickness ranging from 0.8 to 2.4 *** approach also allows for patterned deposition of MoS_(2) using shadow masks and sequential deposition of MoS_(2) and tungsten disulfide(WS_(2)),similar to conventional thermal evaporation ***,we have demonstrated the potential applications of the obtained MoS_(2) thin films in field effect transistors(FETs),memristors and electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).

Exploring the characteristics of inquiry and the correlation with TCM syndromes about the patients with cardiovascular disease

Objective:Inquiry occupies an important position in the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)diagnostic *** the characteristics of inquiry symptoms and the correlation with TCM syndromes can determine the important guiding significance to build recognition model and diagnostic criteria of ***:In this study,we collected 3707 valid cases,analyzed the inquiry symptoms of patients with cardiovascular disease,then to explore the distribution of inquiry information and the correlation with TCM syndromes based on the methods,such as frequency analysis,expert score,and correlation ***:We found the symptoms of frequency analysis and expert symptom score all in the top 50,add up to *** to the results by correlation analysis,the correlation coefficient between each symptom and each syndrome are sorted from high to low,the same with the experts score to each inquiry symptom basing on its importance of in diagnosing each ***:Inquiry occupies an important effect in differentiation *** research could provide certain objective basis for establishment of TCM syndromes diagnostic criteria of cardiovascular disease,thus provide some ideas and methods for the research of establishing TCM syndrome identification model,then to provide a reference for the syndrome standardization and objectification.

Analysis of the influencing factors and clinical related characteristics of pulmonary tuberculosis in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

BACKGROUND In China,the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)among diabetic patients is estimated to be between 90%-95%.Additionally,China is among the 22 countries burdened by a high number of tuberculosis cases,with approximately 4.5 million individuals affected by active ***,T2DM poses a significant risk factor for the development of tuberculosis,as evidenced by the increased incidence of T2DM coexisting with pulmonary tuberculosis(T2DMPTB),which has risen from 19.3%to 24.1%.It is evident that these two diseases are intricately interconnected and mutually reinforcing in *** To elucidate the clinical features of individuals diagnosed with both T2DM and tuberculosis(T2DM-PTB),as well as to investigate the potential risk factors associated with active tuberculosis in patients with *** T2DM-PTB patients who visited our hospital between January 2020 and January 2023 were selected as the observation group,Simple DM patients presenting to our hospital in the same period were the control group,Controls and case groups were matched 1:2 according to the principle of the same sex,age difference(±3)years and disease duration difference(±5)years,patients were investigated for general demographic characteristics,diabetes-related characteristics,body immune status,lifestyle and behavioral habits,univariate and multivariate analysis of the data using conditional logistic regression,calculate the odds ratio(OR)values and 95%CI of OR *** A total of 315 study subjects were included in this study,including 105 subjects in the observation group and 210 subjects in the control *** of the results of both anthropometric and biochemical measures showed that the constitution index,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure and lymphocyte count were significantly lower in the case group,while fasting blood glucose and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were significantly higher than those in the control ***

Accelerated aging and frailty in cardiovascular diseases

Aging is the greatest risk factor for cardiovascular disease(CVD),which is the most common cause of death in European countries.[1]It is estimated that during the period from 2020 to 2022,there were 9.0%more excess deaths from CVD than expected.[2]By 2030,approximately 20%of the population will be aged 65 years and older,and CVD will account for 40%of deaths in this age group,[3]imposing a significant burden on the healthcare system and society as a *** is related to frailty,which represents the dynamic progression of physical and physiological decline in older *** limits an individual’s ability to recover from acute stressors and serves as a predictor of clinical adverse *** the uncertainties in screening,assessing,and managing frailty in clinical practice,emphasizing the connections between frailty,aging,and CVD will provide new insights for the prediction,prevention and management of CVD in the aging population.
