This work aimed to study and compare the effect of the incorporation of agro-industrial by-products(chestnut shell,grapeseed,and pomegranate peel)into yoghurts to fortify them while assessing their potential to replace synthetic *** each by-product,phenolic extracts were obtained and *** extracts demonstrated antioxidant and antibacterial properties,and the capacity to inhibitα-*** shell extract stood out regarding antioxidant capacity,displaying values of 1128 and 972 mgT_(rolox•gextract)^(-1),for the assays with DPPH and ABTS,*** yoghurts were produced(negative control,positive control with 0.1%of sorbic acid,two for each extract with 0.1%and 0.2%of extract,a mixture of extracts and a mixture of extracts with sorbic acid),and stored at 4℃.The incorporation of the extracts into the yoghurts maintained their physical-chemical properties and microbiological *** samples inhibited the growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus *** analysis proved that higher concentrations of extract had similar results to synthetic *** results showed the viability to fortify yoghurts with the incorporation of by-product extracts,developing a value-added ***,revealed the possibility of these extracts replacing synthetic preservatives and antioxidants.

Composites offer the option of coupling the individual benefits of their constituents to achieve unique material properties,which can be of extra value in many tissue engineering *** combining hydrogelswith fibre-based scaffolds can create tissue constructs with enhanced biological and structural ***,developing efficient and scalable approaches to manufacture such composites is ***,we use a droplet-based bioprinting system called reactive jet impingement(ReJI)to integrate a cell-laden hydrogel with a microfibrous *** system uses microvalves connected to different bioink reservoirs and directed to continuously jet bioink droplets at one another in mid-air,where the droplets react and form a hydrogel that lands on a microfibrous ***–hydrogel–fibre composites are produced by embedding human dermal fibroblasts at two different concentrations(5×10^(6) and 30×10^(6) cells/mL)in a collagen–alginate–fibrin hydrogel matrix and bioprinted onto a fibre-based *** results show that both types of cell–hydrogel–microfibre composite maintain high cell viability and promote cell–cell and cell–biomaterial *** lower fibroblast density triggers cell proliferation,whereas the higher fibroblast density facilitates faster cellular organisation and infiltration into the ***,the fibrous component of the composite is characterised by high swelling properties and the quick release of calcium *** data indicate that the created composite constructs offer an efficient way to create highly functional tissue precursors for laminar tissue engineering,particularly for wound healing and skin tissue engineering applications.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the redox status changes of primary visual targets in the rat brain of a high pressure-induced glaucoma *** animal model consisted of inducing ocular hypertension by cauterizing two episcleral veins on the left *** markers of oxidative damage and the oxidative balance evaluated in the brain seven days postoperative were:nitrites concentration,levels of non-enzymatic antioxidants and antiox-idant enzymes *** increase in the nitrite content,which could be the result of the enhancement in the production of nitrogen species,and in the activity of NADPH oxidase in the glaucoma group could lead to an increase on lipid and protein *** decrease on the non-enzymatic antioxidants and the compensatory increase of the superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities could be a consequence of the increase of oxidative *** decrease in the activity of glutathione reductase leads to a decrease in the recycling of thiol *** suggest that oxidative stress can possibly acts as a risk factor for neurodegeneration in the ***-tic strategies to stop the progression of the disease in glaucoma should also be considered the central neuronal degeneration beyond the retina and the optic nerve.

Applying constant precipitation intensity,which does not occur in natural events,is one of the main limitations concerning rainfall simulators in soil erosion *** present work evaluated the InfiAsper rainfall simulator operating with a new control panel to program rainfalls with different precipitation intensities(PI).Infiltration rates and soil and water losses were evaluated in a Distrophic Acrisol(clay loam texture)with simulated rainfalls of 30 mm and duration of 40 min,considering advanced(AD),intermediate(IN),delayed(DE),and inverted intermediate(II)patterns,all with PI peaks of 110 mm h^(-1),and a constant(CT)*** experimental design was in randomized blocks with five treatments(rainfall patterns)and experimental units measuring 2.5×2.5 *** simulator worked satisfactorily,applying the rainfall according to the preconfigured *** simulated rainfall with the CT and II patterns did not promote runoff nor soil *** and runoff rates varied according to the applied rainfall pattern,reaching 97.8 and 27.3 mm h^(-1)(AD),82.1 and 39.5 mm h^(-1)(IN),and 76.2 and 49.7 mm h^(-1)(DE),*** loss and surface runoff totaled each 4.77 g m^(-2)and 3.9 mm(AD),6.70 g m^(-2)and 6.8 mm(IN),and 6.03 g m^(-2)and 7.0 mm(DE).The InfiAsper simulator modified enables varying precipitation intensity besides obtaining satisfactory results in the field and information consistent with the expected characteristics of natural rainfall *** the intermediate and delayed rainfall patterns,soil and water losses are higher than in the advanced.

In this paper we consider nonlinear delay diffusion-reaction equations with initial and Dirichlet boundary conditions. The behaviour and the stability of the solution of such initial boundary value problems （IBVPs） are studied using the energy method. Simple numerical methods are considered for the computation of numerical approximations to the solution of the nonlinear IBVPs. Using the discrete energy method we study the stability and convergence of the numerical approximations. Numerical experiments are carried out to illustrate our theoretical results.

The main use for spent coffee grounds (SCG) produced in the soluble coffee industry is thermal energy generation in the industry itself. The SCG are processed using operations that are strongly dependent on powder flow behavior. In this study, we evaluated two classical flowability in dices of non-consolidated SCG powders: the angle of repose (AoR), and the Hausner ratio (HR). The influences of the mean particle diameter, particle size distribution (PSD), and water content on the AoR and HR values of SCG were analyzed for powders with a mean particle size range of 225-550 μm. For powders with a mean particle size close to 350 μm and for mixtures containing more than 40% fine particles, the HR (>1.35) and AoR (>45 °) values were characteristic of poor flowability. The AoR was sensitive to the powder PSD, and powders with similar mean particle sizes had higher AoR values when the PSD was larger. For powders w让h water contents up to 50%, the flowability indices were not greatly affected by the water content. A modified linear-mixture packing model was used to predict the packed bed void fractions for binary and ternary mixtures of the three base powders. The model was used to construct a ternary diagram to estimate the HR values of the mixtures. An equation was fitted to correlate HR and AoR. The proposed diagram and the equation provide insight into flow behavior and could be used for process design of industrial plants that handle SCG.

Recent studies using BSIm3 models have suggested that noise depends on the transconductance-to-drain ratio gm/ID of a transistor. However, to the best of our knowledge, no experimental result demonstrating gm/ID dependent noise previously observed in simulation is available in the literature. This paper examines the underlying principles that make it possible to analyze noise using gm/ID based noise analysis. Qualitative discussion of normalized noise is presented along with experimental results from a 130 nm CmOS process. A close examination of the experimental results reveals that the device noise is width independent from 1 Hz to 10 kHz. moreover, noise increases as gm/ID is reduced. The experiment observation that noise is width independent makes it possible for circuit designers to generate normalized parameters that are used to study noise intuitively and accurately.
