Engineering of crystal morphology affects the catalytic and adsorption properties of zeolitic *** the anisotropic diffusion of molecules derived from its topological features,mFI zeolite nanosheets with short b-axis thickness are highly desired materials to reduce diffusion ***,the design and development of eco-friendly synthesis protocols with reasonable cost and high efficiency remain ***,we reported a systematic study on the synthesis of mFI nanosheets using urea as an *** silicalite-1 and ZSm-5 zeolites(mFI type framework structure)with controllable b-thicknesses ranging from 50–200 nm were achieved by optimizing the synthetic parameters including water content,urea and SDA *** concentration of hydroxide anions was found to dominate the crystallization kinetics compared with the counterpart tetrapropylammonium cations(TPA^(+)).To facilitate the crystal growth of mFI zeolites in the presence of urea,the ratio OH−/SiO_(2)has to be higher than 0.2,independent of the TPA+*** role of urea in the assistance of plate-like crystal formation through the inhibition of(010)facet growth was revealed by electron microscopy and infrared(IR)spectroscopy *** developed strategy for morphological engineering is not limited to the mFI-type zeolite and can be applied to other frameworks depending on the intrinsic properties of additive molecules and the interactions between them.

Nanoclusters(NCs)have been demonstrated of outstanding performance in electrochemical energy storage and conversion technologies due to their strong quantum confinement effects and strong interaction with ***,we developed a class of ultrafine metal-oxide(mOx,m=Fe,Co and Ni)NCs incorporated with iron phthalocyanine(FePc),mOx/FePc-G,supported on graphene as high-performance catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),oxygen evolution reaction(OER),and carbon dioxide reduction(CO2RR).The high activities for ORR and OER are attributed to the electron donation and accepting ability of the highly redox active of FePc-G that could tune the properties of *** FeOx/FePc-G exhibits an extremely positive half-wave potential(E1/2)of 0.888 and 0.610 V for ORR in alkaline and neutral conditions,respectively,which is around 60 mV more positive than that of Pt/*** NiOx/FePc-G shows similar OER activity with the state-of-the-art catalysts,Ir/C,and better performance than NiFeO NCs supported on ***,the CoOx/FePc-G and NiOx/FePc-G show high activity and selectivity to reduce CO2 into CO with a low onset potential of-0.22 V(overpotential is 0.11 V).

The presence of heavy metals such as arsenic(As)and chromium(Cr)can be considered one of the most toxic heavy *** study aims to develop and evaluate a graphene oxide(GO)based material functionalized with ferrihydrite for the removal of As(V)in the presence of Cr(VI).The adsorbent ferrihydrite-functionalized graphene oxide(GOFH)was characterized by SEm,FTIR,XRD,XPS,surface charge,bet and *** adsorption capacities for As(V)and Cr(VI)were 160 and 66 mg g^(-1)respectively at pH 4 and 298 K,fitting the Langmuir *** binary systems,GOFH adsorbed As(V)with an adsorption capacity of 137 mg g^(-1)in the presence of 20 mg L^(-1)Cr(VI)at room *** analysis revealed an exothermic and spontaneous ***,GOFH effectively removed several coexisting anions from groundwater,including SO_(4)^(2-),CO_(3)^(2-)and Cl^(-).This work evidences the potential of GOFH for competitive adsorption of priority pollutants from complex *** GOFH material represents a technically and economically viable technology for application in groundwater decontamination,as it requires inexpensive precursors and ambient conditions during synthesis and operation.

In Europe,tropospheric ozone pollution appears as a major air quality issue,and ozone concentrations remain potentially harmful to *** this study we compared the trends of two ozone metrics widely used for forests protection in Europe,the AOT40(Accumulated Ozone over Threshold of 40 ppb)which only depends on surface air ozone concentrations,and the Phytotoxic Ozone Dose which is the accumulated ozone uptake through stomata over the growing season,and above a threshold Y of uptake(PODY).By using a chemistry transport model,we found that European-averaged ground-level ozone concentrations(−2%)and AOT40 metric(−26.5%)significantly declined from 2000 to 2014,due to successful control strategies to reduce the emission of ozone precursors in Europe since the early *** contrast,the stomatal ozone uptake by forests increased from 17.5 to 26.6 mmol O3 m^(−2)despite the reduction in ozone concentrations,leading to an increase of potential ozone damage on plants in *** a climate change context,a biologically-sound stomatal flux-based standard(PODY)as new European legislative standard is needed.

Glioblastoma(GBm)represents the main form of brain tumors in adults,and one of the most aggressive cancers *** treatment of GBm is a combination of surgery(when possible),chemotherapy(usually Temozolomide,TmZ)and radiotherapy(RT).However,despite this heavy treatment,GBm invariably recur and the median length of survival following diagnosis is 12 to 15 months,with less than 10%of people surviving longer than five *** is extremely resistant to most treatments because of its heterogeneous nature,which is associated with extreme clonal plasticity and the presence of cancer stem cells,refractory to TmZ-and RT-induced cell *** this review,we explore the mechanisms by which cancer cells,and especially GBm,can acquire resistance to *** describe and discuss the concept of persister/tolerant cells that precede and/or accompany the acquisition of ***/tolerant cells are cancer cells that are not eliminated by treatment(s)because of different mechanisms ranging from dormancy/quiescence to *** discuss the possibility of targeting these mechanisms in new therapeutic regimen.

mount Bambouto is a polygenic stratovolcano of the Cameroon Volcanic Line, built between 21 ma and 4.5 ma. It is situated approximately 200 km NE of mount Cameroon, between 09° 55＇ and 10°15＇ longitude east and, 05°25＇ and 05°50＇ latitude north. The volcano covers an area of 500 km^2 and culminates at 2740 m at meletan dome and bears a collapsed caldera at the summit （13 × 8 km）. mount Bambouto is characterized by several natural hazards of different origins： meteorological, such as landslides and rock falls; anthropogenic, such as bushfires, tribal wars and deforestation; and volcanological, such as volcanic eruption. The thematic map shows that 55-60% of the caldera has high probability of occurrence of mass movement. The caldera has a high population density （3000 inhabitants）, which increases the level of risk, evaluated at approximately $US3.8 million for patrimony, 3000 civilian deaths and destruction of biodiversity.

This paper reports an investigation into the characterisation of liquidaivapor electrolyte solutions at high pressure and high temperature. A procedure to enable calcuIations of methane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide solubilities in brines (0-6 m.) for temperature from 25 to 350℃ and for pressures from 1 to 1800 bar is presented. The model is based on Helgeson, Kirkham and Flowers modified equations of state (HKF) and on the semi-empirical interaction model introduced by Pitzer. HKF modified equations of state are used to calculate the reference fugacity of gas species, and the Pitzer ionic interaction model is used to calculate the activity coefficient of dissolved species (i.e. ionic or neutral).The efficiency of the combination of the two models is confirmed by several comparisons with data in the literature.

Objectives:The purpose of this work was to study the infection course and cross-protection in mice after intradermal injection of Vaccinia virus(VACV) strain Western Reserve and three Brazilian VACV strains: Aracatuba,muriae and BeAn58058 isolated from cow,human and rodent,***:Balb/c mice were inoculated by footpad and back scarification and daily monitored regarding lesion development and weight *** check cross protection after intradermal VACV inoculation,mice were subsequendy infected with different VACV strains and monitored to check lesion *** neutralization assays were performed to check for the presence of antibodies against ***:After VACV intradermal inoculation the lesion development pattern was similar in mice infected with the different virus *** using the footpad scarification model,cross-protection among VACV strains was ***,neutralizing antibodies against Orthopoxvirus were detected in sera from mice infected with all VACV ***:Although it was not possible to observe virulence differences among VACV strains isolated from cow,rodent and human using the murine model,this inoculation route showed to be an appropriated model to study lesions development since it mimics natural infections by VACV in nature.
