Background:Nanotechnologies promise to improve disease diagnosis and treatment,overcoming the limitations of conventional *** particular,extracellular vesicles(EVs)and artificial vesicles(AVs)are strongly emerging tools in nanomedicine(Leggio et al.,2020).EVs are cell-derived membrane structures secreted after the fusion of endosomes with the plasma membrane(exosomes)or shed from the plasma membrane(microvesicles).EVs are released by different brain cells(neurons,oligodendrocytes,astrocytes,and microglia)and constitute a physiological intercellular communication ***,EVs can deliver different types of molecules(nucleic acids and proteins),which often influence the phenotype of the recipient *** play a physiological role in the central nervous system(CNS),such as development,myelination,regeneration,and synaptic activity(Lai et al.,2012).Due to their content,EVs could therefore constitute an important biomarker for neurodegenerative diseases,represent candidates for therapeutic use,enclosing regulatory molecules,or be considered as vectors for brain drug delivery(Croese et al.,2018).

BACKGRoUND: We describe a case of cesarean delivery by posterior hysterotomy in a woman with uterine torsion secondary to a blocked retroverted uterus. CASE: At 28 weeks of gestation this patient’s fetus was found to have club feet, initially suspected to be secondary to sacculation of the posterior uterine segment. At cesarean delivery, intraoperative inspection revealed the uterus to be twisted 180° without evidence of posterior sacculation. The uterine incision was performed on the posterior aspect of the lower uterine segment. CoNCLUSIoN: Fixed uterine retroversion with torsion is associated with fetal abnormalities and may require a posterior uterine incision.

The rapid global spread of coronavirus disease 2019(CoVID-19)infection has become a major health issue with higher morbidity and mortality *** respiratory symptoms,a growing body of evidence indicates a variety of gastrointestinal manifestations including liver *** this regard,several data supported an association between CoVID-19 infection and liver injury in adults,while in children there is compelling but currently limited *** particular,patients with CoVID-19 have shown a higher risk of liver injury(mainly expressed as increased transaminase levels or hepatic steatosis).Conversely,a greater risk of more severe forms of CoVID-19 infection has been observed in subjects with pre-existing chronic liver *** dramatic interplay between CoVID-19 and liver damage has been related to the inflammatory pathways chronically active in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and acutely in those affected by CoVID-19,but other different pathogenic mechanisms have also been *** note,patients with previous metabolic comorbidities also had a higher risk of severe CoVID-19 *** emphasizes the pathogenic interrelation of the inflammatory pathways with a dysregulated metabolic milieu in CoVID-19 *** into account the prognostic role of fatty liver in CoVID-19 patients and its intrinsic relationship with metabolic abnormalities even in childhood,a strict monitoring of this condition is *** aimed to summarize the most recent evidence regarding the potential interplay between pediatric fatty liver and CoVID-19.

Metabolomics characterization of colostrum in three sow breeds and its influences on piglets' survival and litter growth rates

Background: Colostrum is the first secretion produced by mammary glands during the hours immediately preceding and succeeding parturition. This secretion differs from milk and represents an essential vehicle of passive immunity,prebiotic compounds and growth factors involved in intestinal development. Most of the literature concerning colostrum composition refers mainly to human and cow; and little is known about pig colostrum metabolome and how it varies between pig breeds and different farrowing parity. Thus, the aim of the present research is to provide new information about pig colostrum composition and the associations between metabolites, the sows' breed and the survival and growth rates of their ***: Colostrum samples were gathered from 58 parturitions of sows belonging to three different breeds chosen for their importance in Italian heavy pig production: 31 Large White, 15 Landrace and 12 Duroc respectively. The defatted and ultrafiltered colostrum samples were analysed using1 H–NMR spectroscopy. Principal Components Analysis(PCA) was assessed on the obtained spectra. In addition, using a Stepwise Regression and a Linear Regression analyses the metabolites named after the signals assignment were tested for their associations with piglets' ***-five metabolites were identified, comprehending monosaccharides, disaccharides(such as lactose), organic acids(lactate, citrate, acetate and formate), nitrogenous organic acids(such as creatine) and other compounds,including nucleotides. PCA results evidence a clustering due to breed and season effects. Lactose was the main compound determining the assignment of the samples into different clusters according to the sow breed. Furthermore, some metabolites showed to be associated with piglets' performance and survival traits: acetate and taurine were positively related to litter weight gain and piglets' survival rate, respectively, while dimethylamine and cis-aconitate were linked to new-borns'

While the occurrence of rainfall is a regional scale phenomenon, cities influence on precipitation spatial distribution patterns and their characteristics. These influences had been studied for a very long time especially in the Northern Hemisphere. Tandil and Bahia Blanca are middle cities of Argentina located in the south of Buenos Aires province. Both present continental template climate. The aim of this research is to analyze the spatial distribution patterns of precipitation and the rainwater pH values for the period october 2010-September 2011 in Tandil and Bahia Blanca. Gauge rain nets were installed in both cities. In each event of precipitation, amount and pH values were collected. Isohyets plotting were included in the thematic cartography that was made using ArcGis 9.3~ software. Although natural rains are generally considered as being weakly acid, the rainwater pH measurements demonstrated that in both cities the rain is alkaline. Regarding to the spatial distribution of the precipitation amounts, the isohyets of the annual records showed that the highest values were registered in areas of higher elevation while the lowest values were presented in both cities downtown, where the high buildings are concentrated.

Raising cattle in feedlots is becoming more common in Argentina, but there is little information available about the effects of this practice on soil phosphorus (P) dynamics. In this study, concentrations of water and Bray -1 extractable soil P were quantified in a feedlot (upper and lower slope positions in the feedlot pen), runoff area and pasture during 2006 - 2008. The feedlot showed higher P concentrations in all P forms, soluble reactive P, soluble nonreactive, total soluble P, and Bray-P1 when compared to runoff area and pasture. Most of the total soluble P was soluble reactive P from the soil in the feedlot and the runoff area, while soluble nonreactive P predominated in the pasture. Concentrations of total soluble P were elevated in the feedlot at the soil surface, ranging on average from 158.71 to 245.86 mg?P?kg?1, and had a rapid decrease within the first 20 cm and remained relatively low, about 25.53 - 27.33 mg?P?kg?1. The evidence that total soluble P concentration in the feedlot was significantly (p oil depth suggests a potential transfer of P through the soil from the surface. Although the feedlot had a moderate increase of 23.05 to 24.55 mg?P?kg?1 from the background concentration, it may represent a long-term source of increased nutrient loading to groundwater. Soil extractable Bray-1 P in the top 0 - 2.5 cm fluctuated from 659.26 to 45.36 mg?P?kg?1 in the feedlot and pasture, respectively. The relationship between soil P extracted by test and TSP was linear, and correlation coefficient was r2 = 0.95.
