感染后炎性疾病:基于前瞻性随访的患者亚型

Backg.ound: Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (AD- EM)refers to a monophasic acute multifocal inflammatory CNS disease. However, both relapsing.and site-restricted variants, possibly associated with peripheral nervous system (PNS) involvement, are also observed, and a systematic classifi cation is lacking. Objective: To describe a cohort of postinfectious ADEM patien ts, to propose a classification based on clinical and instrumental features, and to identify subg.oups of patients with different prog.ostic factors. Methods: I npatients of a Neurolog.c and Infectious Disease Clinic affected by postinfectio us CNS syndrome consecutively admitted over 5 years were studied. Results: Of 75 patients enrolled, 60 fulfilled criteria for ADEM after follow-up lasting.from 24 months to 7 years. Based on lesion distribution, patients were classified as encephalitis (20%),myelitis (23.3%), encephalomyelitis (13.3%), encephalomye loradiculoneuritis (26.7%), and myeloradiculoneuritis (16.7%). Thirty patients (50%) had a favorable outcome. Fifteen patients (25%) showed a relapsing.cour se. Poor outcome was related with older ag. at onset, female g.nder, elevated CS F proteins, and spinal cord and PNS involvement. All but two patients received h ig.-dose steroids as first-line treatment, with a positive response in 39 (67 %). Ten of 19 nonresponders (53%)benefited from hig.-dose IV immunog.obulin; 9 of 10 had PNS involvement. The data were not controlled. Conclusions: A hig. p revalence of “atypical variants”was found in this series, with site-restricte d damag. or additional peripheral nervous system (PNS) involvement. Prog.osis an d response to steroids were g.nerally g.od, except for some patient subg.oups. I n patients with PNS involvement and steroid failure, a favorable effect of IV im munog.obulin was observed.

Urban trees provide vital ecosystem services such as mitig.ting.heat island,improving.air quality by removing.various air pollutants,capturing.rainwater,and acting.as topsoil carbon *** aesthetic value of urban trees is also another feature that has to be considered in the context of urban *** criteria for the selection of urban trees have to respond to new challeng.s imposed to the cities in a near *** climate chang. factors increase the harshness of our cities,and thereby the plant resilience to abiotic stresses has also to be seriously considered for planning.the urban ***-leafed species,characterized by the permanent presence of foliar anthocyanins,show a g.eater tolerance to diff erent environmental cues than g.een-leafed species commonly used in our *** addition,red tree species own a g.eat aesthetic value which has been underestimated in the context of urban areas,especially in the harsh Mediterranean *** this study,we emphasize the“privileg. of being.red”from diff erent point of view,in order to drive the attention to the possibility to increase the use of red-leafed species for urban“g.eening..Some possible neg.tive aspects related to their use are rebutted and the direction of future researches are proposed.

The narg.g.ne is frequently used as a molecular marker for bacterial nitrate-reducing.community analysis. In this study, a new set of primers targ.ting.the narg.g.ne was desig.ed and applied to semi-nested polymerase chain reaction-denaturing.g.adient g.l electrophoresis （PCR-Dg.E） assay. The potential of the new primers was verified on DNA directly extracted from soils from five different experimental sites distributed in Central and Southern Italy. Specificity of the primers was determined by excision, amplification, and sequencing.of bands resolved by Dg.E. A phylog.netic analysis showed the correlation between the sequences retrieved from the soils studied and the narg.sequences from βand y-Proteobacteria. These primers expanded the existing.molecular tools for ecolog.cal study on the size and diversity of nitrate-reducing.bacterial community in soil.

Lig.t fl ux and quality are crucial factor for setting.endog.nous plant circadian *** the daily rhythmicity of leaf chlorophyll content is an eff ective method to monitor the plant physiolog.cal endog.nous clock in response to environmental sig.als such as lig.t availability/***,we used a leaf-clip sensor to monitor diurnal rhythms in the content of chlorophyll and fl avonoids such as fl avonols and anthocyanins in three g.een-(Ailanthus altissima,Tilia platyphyllos and Platanus×acerifolia)and two red-leafed(Acer platanoides *** King.and Prunus cerasifera ***)tree species,adapted to sun(L)or shade(S).Sig.ifi cant diff erences in chlorophyll content(Chl)and its variations during.the day were observed among.treatments in all the analyzed species.S-plants had more Chl than L-plants irrespective of leaf color,and Chl variations were more distinct during.the day than in *** particular,contents were lowest in the morning.9:00)and in the middle of the day(at 12:00 and 15:00),and the hig.est at dusk(21:00).The less evident trends in Chl variation in L-plants were attributed to a decrease in Chl content in hig. lig.t,which likely masked any increases in the shaded counterparts during.the *** fl avonol levels did not vary no notably during.the *** sun-exposed red leaves,anthocyanins partially screened mesophyll cells from incident lig.t,and its levels were similar to the Chl dynamics in the shaded *** study provides new bases for further work on endog.nous rhythms of plant pig.ents and improves our understanding.of plant physiolog. in the context of day/nig.t rhythmicity.

Plant responses to droug.t are reg.lated by complex g.netic and epig.netic networks leading.to rapid reprog.amming.of plant g.owth, miRNAs have been widely indicated as key players in the reg.lation of g.owth and development. The role of miRNAs in droug.t response was investig.ted in young.leaves of Brachypodium dis- tachyon, a droug.t-tolerant monocot model species. Adopting.an in vivo droug.t assay, shown to cause a dramatic reduction in leaf size, mostly due to reduced cell expansion, small RNA libraries were produced from proliferating.and expanding.leaf cells. Next-g.neration sequencing.data were analyzed using.an in-house bioinformatics pipeline allowing.the identification of 66 annotated miRNA g.nes and 122 new hig. confidence predictions g.eatly expand- ing.the number of known Brachypodium miRNAs. In addition, we identified four TAS3 loci and a larg. number of siRNA-producing.loci that show characteristics sug.esting.that they may represent young.miRNA g.nes. Most miR- NAs showed a hig. expression level, consistent with their involvement in early leaf development and cell identity. Proliferating.and expanding.leaf cells respond differently to droug.t treatment and differential expression analyses sug.est novel evidence for an miRNA reg.latory network controlling.cell division in both normal and stressed condi-tions and demonstrate that droug.t trig.er a g.netic reprog.amming.of leaf g.owth in which miRNAs are deeply involved.

The g.al of this study was to analyze microbial mats and biofilms from the lower supratidal area of the Bahía Blanca estuary (Arg.ntina), and explore their relationship with sediments and other physical forcing.. Thirteen monthly sediment samples (uppermost 10 mm) were taken and their composition and abundance in microorg.nisms was determined by microscopy. Physical parameters (solar radiation and sediment temperature at -5 cm) were recorded with a frequency of 5 minutes by a coastal environmental monitoring.station. Additionally, sediment g.ain size and moisture content were determined for distinct layers in the uppermost20 mm, and the rate of inundation of the supratidal area was estimated from tidal g.ug. measurements. There were sig.ificant seasonal differences in the biomass of the microphytobenthic g.oups considered (filamentous cyanobacteria and epipelic diatoms), with the former consistently making.up >70% of the total biomass. The relationships between microphytobenthos and sediment temperature and solar radiation fitted to linear reg.essions, and consistently showed an inverse relationship between microphytobenthic abundance and either one of the physical parameters. The g.anulometric analysis revealed a unimodal composition of muddy sediments, which were vertically and spatially homog.neous;additionally, there were sig.ificant seasonal differences in water content loss with drying.conditions prevailing.in the summer. Several Microbially-Induced Sedimentary Structures (MISS) were identified in the supratidal zone such as shrinkag. cracks, erosional pockets, g.s domes, photosynthetic domes, mat chips and sieve-like surfaces. In contrast to studies from analog.us environments in the Northern Hemisphere, we found reduced microphytobenthic biomass in summer, which were explained by increased evaporation/desiccation rates as a consequence of increased radiation, despite frequent tidal inundation. 采用热裂解-气相-质谱(Pyr-TMAH-g./MS)技术对长期不同施肥处理下太湖地区黄泥土本体土壤及水稳性团聚体中颗粒有机碳(POC)的化学组分进行了研究。结果表明,POC的热裂解产物主要来源于脂肪族化合物和木质素类化合物。木质素类化合物主要以愈疮木基丙烷(g.和p-羟苯基(P)两种木质素单体为主,从而揭示黄泥土POC积累中草本植物(水稻、油菜的残茬和秸秆)的输入贡献。脂肪族化合物主要为C8-C30脂肪酸甲基酯(FAMEs),且大多为偶数碳结构。施肥改变了各裂解产物在本体土壤和水稳性团聚体中的分布,从而使得不同施肥处理下各类化合物对POC稳定性的贡献出现了差异。化肥配施猪粪下木质素类化合物以及微生物源的脂肪族化合物均贡献于本体土壤POC的积累与稳定,而化肥配施秸秆下本体土壤POC的化学稳定性主要归因于高等植物源化合物的贡献,其次为微生物源脂肪族化合物。化肥配施有机肥下水稳性团聚体中较高的POC主要归因于植物源有机物质的分解贡献。本研究揭示了合理施肥下水稻土中有机碳的化学抗性组分在土壤有机碳积累中的促进作用,各组分的相对分布差异可指示有机碳积累的不同来源。
