The ectodermal dysplasias are rare diseases with hypodontia, hypotrichosis and hypohidrosis. The subject's life is considerably constrained and this from an early age, with major difficulties for the integration and acceptance of conventional prosthetic occlusal rehabilitation. The use of implants is an integral part of early treatment, in the regions of stable growth, that is to say symphysis. In two childs of 5 and 6 years we have made implant-borne prosthetic rehabilitation in the maxilla and the mandible. Aesthetic and social evaluation were positive. We have restored the normal oro-facial functions for the correct development of skeletal bases. They acted as an external fixator intraoral, stimulating the growth by the function. Our question was: can we leave a child throughout his childhood and adolescence with a not suitable removable prosthesis, under the pretext of growth unfinished?

A new version of the Extended Kalman Filter（EKF） is proposed for nonlinear systems possessing *** of using a linear correction term based on a linear output error, it uses a geometrically adapted correction term based on an invariant output error;in the same way the gain matrix is not updated from of a linear state error, but from an invariant state error. The benefit is that the gain and covariance equations converge to constant values on a much bigger set of trajectories than equilibrium points as is the case for the EKF,which should result in a better convergence of the *** filter is applied to the practically relevant problem of estimating the velocity and attitude of a moving rigid body,e.g. an aircraft, from GPS velocity, inertial and magnetic measurements. In this context it can be seen as an extension of the "Multiplicative EKF" often used for quaternion estimation.

Plant root-nodule symbiosis(RNS)with mutualistic nitrogen-fixing bacteria is restricted to a single clade of angiosperms,the Nitrogen-Fixing Nodulation Clade(NFNC),and is best understood in the legume *** species share many commonalities,explained either by divergence from a common ancestor over 100 million years ago or by convergence following independent origins over that same time ***,comparative analyses of diverse nodulation syndromes can provide insights into constraints on nodulation—what must be acquired or cannot be lost for a functional symbiosis—and the latitude for Plant Communications Genomic landscape of nodulation variation in the ***,much remains to be learned about nodulation,especially outside of ***,we employed a large-scale phylogenomic analysis across 88 species,complemented by 151 RNA-seq libraries,to elucidate the evolution of *** phylogenomic analyses further emphasize the uniqueness of the transcription factor NIN as a master regulator of nodulation and identify key muta-tions that affect its function across the *** transcriptomic assessment revealed nodule-specific upregulated genes across diverse nodulating plants,while also identifying nodule-specific and nitrogen-response *** 70%of symbiosis-related genes are highly conserved in the four representative species,whereas defense-related and host-range restriction genes tend to be lineage *** study also identified over 900000 conserved non-coding elements(CNEs),over 300000 of which are unique to sampled NFNC ***-specific CNEs are enriched with the active H3K9ac mark and are correlated with accessible chromatin regions,thus representing a pool of candidate regula-tory elements for genes involved in ***,our results provide novel insights into the evolution of nodulation and lay a foundation for engineering of RNS traits in agriculturally important crops.

Fabrication of thin-wall components using the laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)additive manufacturing(AM)technology was investigated for two“hard-to-weld”high gamma prime Ni-based superalloys RENé65(R65)and RENé108(R108).Simple block parts with wall thicknesses of 0.25 mm,1.00 mm,and5.00 mm are printed using a bidirectional laser scanning strategy without layer-wise *** with walls thinner than 5 mm fail before reaching the designated build *** indicate that reduction of limiting build height(LBH)corresponds to the reduction of part thickness and is unaffected by alloy *** the contrary,the number of internal micro-cracks along columnar grain boundaries in the build direction(BD)increases with part thickness and is significantly higher in R108 than *** findings suggest that reduced LBH in parts with thinner walls is not caused by internal micro-crack *** and finite element analysis(FEA)of the in-process thermal stresses show that the LBH trend is not explained by the conventional cracking *** suggest that part thickness affects stress distribution leading to more substantial distortion and consequent failure to add layers for continued fabrication of thinner parts.

AIMTo identify metabolic signatures in urine samples from healthy and inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)*** applied liquid chromatography and gas chromatography coupled to targeted mass spectrometry(MS)-based metabolite profiling to identify and quantify bile acids and host-gut microbial metabolites in urine samples collected from 21 pediatric IBD patients monitored three times over one year(baseline,6 and 12 mo),and 27age-and gender-matched healthy *** metabolic profiles of IBD children differ significantly from healthy *** metabolic differences encompass central energy metabolism,amino acids,bile acids and gut microbial *** particular,levels of pyroglutamic acid,glutamic acid,glycine and cysteine,were significantly higher in IBD children in the course of the *** suggests that glutathione cannot be optimally synthesized and *** alterations of the enterohepatic circulation of bile acids in pediatric IBD patients is known,we show here that non-invasive urinary bile acid profiling can assess those altered hepatic and intestinal barrier *** present study shows how non-invasive sampling of urine followed by targeted MS-based metabonomic analysis can elucidate and monitor the metabolic status of children with different GI health/disease status.

The development of foils for racing boats has changed the strategy of sailing. Recently, the America＇s cup held in San Francisco, has been the theatre of a tragicomic history due to the foils. During the last round, the New-Zealand boat was winning by 8 to 1 against the defender USA. The winner is the first with 9 victories. USA team understood suddenly （may be） how to use the control of the pitching of the inain foils by adjusting the rake in order to stabilize the ship. And USA won by 9 victories against 8 to the challenger NZ. The goal in this paper is to point out few aspects which could be taken into account in order to improve this mysterious control law which is known as the key of the victory of the USA team. There are certainly many reasons and in particular the cleverness of the sailors and of all the engineering team behind this project. But it appears interesting to have a mathematical discussion, even if it is a partial one, on the mechanical behaviour of these extraordinary sailing boats. The nunlerical exanlples given here are not the true ones. They have just been invented in order to explain the theoretical developments concerning three points： The possibility of tacking on the foils for sailing upwind, the nature of foiling instabilities, if there are, when the boat is flying and the control laws.

This paper reports the first case of a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma with lymph node metastasis treated by sorafenib combined with gemcitabine plus oxaliplatin,with a partial response and normalization of α fetoprotein,which allowed curative *** potential synergy between these three drugs needs to be confirmed,and is currently being investigated in a randomized phase Ⅱ trial.

Changes in farming practices over the second half of the twentieth century greatly reduced the extent of natural areas remaining within agricultural landscapes. Field margins and hedgerows have recently been recognized as important habitat in maintaining wildlife diversity and proper ecosystem functioning. Ecotones, defined as the transitionary area of vegetation between woody plant species and the arable crop, are an especially important landscape element for birds and arthropods. In this manuscript, we aimed to evaluate which hedgerow attribute was best at predicting avian densities in a conventional and organic farming landscape. Furthermore, we wished to investigate if these same hedgerow attributes could explain arthropod family density, richness and diversity, and how these were correlated to avian densities. An information theory-based multimodel inference method was used to identify which factors influenced variability in avian densities. Although not always significant, avian densities increased with arthropod richness at our study sites. Ecotone width is the best predictor of avian densities and arthropod richness while percent gap is the most important factor if a manager wishes to increase avian diversity (H’) in hedgerow habitats. Increasing ecotone width benefits both avian densities and arthropod richness that in turn further increases bird numbers in our farming landscape.

Impact of age on transcatheter aortic valve implantation outcomes：a comparison of patients aged≤ 80 years versus patients ＆gt; 80 years

ObjectiveTo investigate the procedural outcomes and the long-term survival of patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation （TAVI） and compare study results of patients≤ 80 years and patients ＆gt; 80 years *** total of 240 patients treated with TAVI were divided into two groups according to age≤ 80 years （n = 105; 43.8%） and ＆gt; 80 years （n= 135; 56.2%）. The baseline characteristics and the pro-cedural outcomes were compared between these two groups of *** the exception of peripheral artery disease and hypercho-lesterolemia, which were more frequently observed in the older age group, baseline characteristics were comparable between groups. Complica-tion rates did not differ significantly between patients≤ 80 years and patients ＆gt; 80 years. There were no differences in 30-day mortality rates be-tween patients aged≤ 80 years and patients ＆gt; 80 years old （9.5%vs. 7.4%, respectively;P = 0.557）. After a median follow-up of 28 months （in-terquartile range： 16-42 months）, 50 （47.6%） patients aged≤ 80 years died compared to 57 （42%） deaths in the group of patients ＆gt; 80 years old （P= 0.404）.ConclusionThe results of the present single center study showed that age did not significantly impact the outcomes of TAVI.
