Diagenesis and its controls on reservoir quality of the Tambar oil field, Norwegian North Sea

A study of the diagenetic evolution of the Late Jurassic sandstones of the shallow marine facies in the Tambar oil field,Norwegian North Sea was carried out to understand its controls on reservoir *** samples and a set of wireline logs obtained from three wells were used to carry out petrographic studies including light optics and scanning electron microscopy,well log analysis,fluid inclusions,X-ray diffraction(XRD)for whole rock samples,clay mineral extracts and stable *** Tambar reservoir sandstones range mainly from siltstone to fine-grained sandstones,exclusively arkoses cemented mainly by microcrystalline quartz,euhedral quartz overgrowth,dolomite cement,illite and *** diagenetic/eodigenetic minerals include pyrite,calcite,and microcrystalline quartz and late diagenetic/mesodiagenetic minerals include quartz overgrowth,dolomite,illite and *** d18O values of dolomite cement in the Tambar sandstone reservoir range from11.77‰to3.57‰PDB,while the d13C values of the dolomite cement are from5.07‰to1.12‰*** temperature for fluid inclusions trapped in authigenic quartz fall between 130℃ and 169℃.The reservoir quality is controlled mainly by early formed grain-coating microcrystalline quartz that precipitated from the dissolution of sponge spicules which significantly inhibits quartz overgrowth *** emplacement do not show significant control on reservoir quality because considerable quartz cementation has taken place before the onset of major oil *** the coarse-grained sands show a correlation between quartz cement volume and water ***,the interpreted temperature for dolomite cementation is significantly higher for water leg-suggested effect of oil emplacement on the late ***-standing these controls on the reservoir quality will enhance the exploration strategy for the Tambar oil field.

Water chemistry influences on long-term dissolution kinetics of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots

Widespread usage of engineered metallic quantum dots(QDs)within consumer products has evoked a need to assess their fate within environmental *** are mixed-metal nanocrystals that often include Cd2+which poses a health risk as a nanocrystal or when leached into *** goal of this work is to study the long-term metal cation leaching behavior and the factors affecting the dissolution processes of mercaptopropionic acid(MPA)capped CdSe/ZnS QDs in aphotic *** suspensions were prepared in different water conditions,and release of Zn2+and Cd2+cations were monitored over time by size exclusion chromatography-inductively coupled plasm a-mass *** most conditions with dissolved 02 present,the ZnS shell degraded fairly rapidly over^1 week,while some of the CdSe core remained up to 80 *** MPA,Zn2+,and Cd2+temporarily delayed dissolution,indicating a moderate role for capping agent detachment and mineral *** presence of H2 O2 and the ligand ethylenediaminetetraacetate accelerated dissolution,while NOM had no kinetic *** dissolution of CdSe core was observed when 02 was absent or when QDs formed aggregates at higher concentrations with 02 *** shrinking particle model with product layer diffusion control best describes Zn2+and Cd2+dissolution *** longevity of QDs in their nanocrystal form appears to be partly controlled by environmental conditions,with anoxic,aphotic environments preserving the core mineral phase,and oxidants or complexing ligands promoting shell and core mineral dissolution.

Star Movement Is Not Predicted Two-Compartment Model of the Universe

A two-compartment model of the universe is proposed to further refine Albert Einstein’s insight into curvature of space and the energy tensor. The two compartments are energy contained by a shell prism. The model allows for a non-unification of fundamental forces with gravity resulting from the curvature of a space-time prism. Carrier forces travel within the prism and particles emerge from the prism. Giving a thickness to the manifold negates infinity and will allow solutions at both microscopic and cosmic levels. Geometry is the link between quantum mechanics and general relativity. Negative entropy, as proposed by Erwin Schrödinger, gives order to particles and the cosmic. The source of this energy is in the shell of the containment vessel. The acceleration of the expansion of the universe occurred when energy within the container transformed into mass, warping the space-time container and causing an explosion of the container. Star movement is explained by the surface tension of the prism of space-time.

Corrosion Inhibition of Amino Pentadecylphenols (APPs) Derived from Cashew Nut shell Liquid on Mild Steel in Acidic Medium

In this study, corrosion inhibiting properties of amino pentadecylphenols (APPs) derived from Cashew Nut shell Liquid (CNSL) on mild steel in aerated 0.10 M HCl at 303 K were studied using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization measurements. Both methods indicated the potential of a mixture of amino pentadecyphenols to serve as a corrosion inhibitor in mild steel in 0.10 M HCl. Corrosion inhibition efficiencies were observed to increase with increase in the inhibitor concentration, with maximum corrosion inhibition of about 98% at inhibitor concentration of 600 ppm. The adsorption of the inhibitor on mild steel surface was found to obey Temkin adsorption isotherm, signifying physical adsorption of the inhibitor molecules on mild steel surface.

＜正＞INTRODUCTION In the last decade, we have seen a dramatic increase in the use of structural glass in buildings, driven by increasing interest from architects and with client approval. The obvious reason to choose glass is because it is a transparent yet durable material, resistant to the adverse effects of weathering. With the use of all-glass supporting structures and frames, like beams and vertical fins, this increases the transparency even further. The paper outlines the experience gained by the authors from the design and construction of a dozen all-glass structures over the past ten years: from glass stairs and glazed roofs, with supported beams spanning up to 10.0m, to external glass frames that are auto-stable, each structure marks an important step in glass engineering and fabrication.

Cd-free Ⅰ-Ⅲ-Ⅵ group semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) like Ag-ln-S and Cu-ln-S show unstructured absorption spectra with a pronounced Urbach tail,rendering the determination of their band gap energy (Eg) and the energy structure of the exciton ***,the origin of the broad photoluminescence (PL) band with lifetimes of several hundred nanoseconds is still *** encouraged us to study the excitation energy dependence (EED) of the PL maxima,PL spectral band widths,quantum yields (QYs),and decay kinetics of AlS/ZnS QDs of j different size,composition,and surface capping *** results were then correlated with the second derivatives of the corresponding absorption *** excellent match between the onset of changes in PL band position and spectral width with the minima found for the second derivatives of the absorption spectra underlines the potential of the EED approach for deriving Eg values of these ternary QDs from PL *** PL QY is,however,independent of excitation energy in the energy range *** the EED of the PL features of the AlS/ZnS QDs we could also derive a mechanism of the formation of the low-energy electronic *** was additionally confirmed by a comparison of the EED of PL data of as-synthesized and size-selected QD ensembles and the comparison of these PL data with PL spectra of single *** results indicate a strong contribution of intrinsic inhomogeneous PL broadening to the overall emission features of AlS/ZnS QDs originating from radiative transitions from a set of energy states of defects localized at different positions within the quantum dot volume,in addition to contributions from dimensional and chemical *** mechanism was confirmed by numerically modelling the absorption and PL energies with a simple mass approximation for spherical QDs and a modified donor-acceptor model,thereby utilizing the advantages of previously proposed PL mechanisms of ternary *** findings will

Synthesis of Poly(APP-co-EGDMA) Particles Using Monomers Derived from Cashew Nut shell Liquid for the Removal of Cr(III) from Aqueous Solutions

This work was aimed at synthesizing Cashew Nut shell Liquid (CNSL) based polymer particles for adsorption of Cr(III) ions from aqueous solutions. Natural CNSL was used as a starting material in synthesizing amino pentadecylphenols (APP). This was achieved through isolating anacardic acid from the CNSL via calcium anacardate procedure, followed by hydrogenation of the alkenyl side chains, and subsequently decarboxylating the product to form 3-pentadecylphenol, which was then nitrated and reduced to a mixture of APP. APP were co-polymerized with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) to form poly(APP-co-EGDMA) particles. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by Fourier Transform IR and 1H-NMR. The co-polymer particles were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to establish their morphological properties. The prepared co-polymer particles were found to have-NH loading of 46 mmol/g and a maximum adsorption capacity for Cr(III) ions of 16 mg per g of dry polymer particles. The spent polymer particles were recoverable and reusable.

Nano-engineering III-nitride semiconductors offers a route to further control the optoelectronic properties,enabling novel functionalities and *** a variety of lithography techniques are currently employed to nanoengineer these materials,the scalability and cost of the fabrication process can be an obstacle for large-scale *** this paper,we report on the use of a fast,robust and flexible emerging patterning technique called Displacement Talbot lithography(DTL),to successfully nano-engineer III-nitride ***,along with its novel and unique combination with a lateral planar displacement(D^(2)TL),allow the fabrication of a variety of periodic nanopatterns with a broad range of filling factors such as nanoholes,nanodots,nanorings and nanolines;all these features being achievable from one single *** illustrate the enormous possibilities opened by DTL/D2TL,dielectric and metal masks with a number of nanopatterns have been generated,allowing for the selective area growth of InGaN/GaN core-shell nanorods,the top-down plasma etching of III-nitride nanostructures,the top-down sublimation of GaN nanostructures,the hybrid top-down/bottom-up growth of AlN nanorods and GaN nanotubes,and the fabrication of nanopatterned sapphire substrates for AlN *** with their planar counterparts,these 3D nanostructures enable the reduction or filtering of structural defects and/or the enhancement of the light extraction,therefore improving the efficiency of the final *** results,achieved on a wafer scale via DTL and upscalable to larger surfaces,have the potential to unlock the manufacturing of nano-engineered III-nitride materials.

从建筑师的角度来看,基于结构性能的建筑设计的发展过程,按时间顺序可以被划分为三个时代:在静力学图解时代中,由于图解静力学理论的建立和应用,建筑师能够清楚地表达结构概念并试图寻求结构性能的最优方案;在力学建构时代,由于社会经济需求和结构性能设计的发展,高结构性能的特殊结构原型被广泛应用,但由于方法的不可确定性和不可重复性,建筑师亟需新的设计计算工具辅助:在结构性能生形时代,建筑师充分应用电脑计算及模拟技术,为之前的实践方法和理论注入新的血液,更重要的是,建筑师创造了许多更为科学、准确以及创新的设计方法。文章以建筑视角对基于结构性能的建筑设计的发展历史进行梳理,比较和分析目前的结构基于性能的设计方法,并评估其对当下建筑实践的价值。
