Background The effect of transdermal glyceryl trinitrate(GTN,a nitrovasodilator)on clinical outcome when administered before hospital admission in suspected stroke patients is ***,we assess the safety and efficacy of GTN in the prespecified subgroup of patients who had an ischaemic stroke within the Rapid Intervention with Glyceryl trinitrate in Hypertensive stroke Trial-2(RIGHT-2).Methods RIGHT-2 was an ambulance-based multicentre sham-controlled blinded-endpoint study with patients randomised within 4hours of *** primary outcome was a shift in scores on the modified Rankin scale(mRS)at day *** outcomes included death;a global analysis(Wei-Lachin test)containing Barthel Index,EuroQol-5D,mRS,telephone interview for cognitive status-modified and Zung depression scale;and neuroimaging-determined‘brain frailty’*** were reported as n(%),mean(SD),median[IQR],adjusted common OR(acOR),mean difference or Mann-Whitney difference(MWD)with 95%*** 597 of 1149(52%)patients had a final diagnosis of ischaemic stroke;age 75(12)years,premorbid mRS>2107(18%),Glasgow Coma Scale 14(2)and time from onset to randomisation 67[45,108]***‘brain frailty’was common:median score 2[2,3](range 0–3).At day 90,GTN did not influence the primary outcome(acOR for increased disability 1.15,95%CI 0.85 to 1.54),death or global analysis(MWD 0.00,95%CI-0.10 to 0.09).In subgroup analyses,there were non-significant interactions suggesting GTN may be associated with more death and dependency in participants randomised within 1hour of symptom onset and in those with more severe *** In patients who had an ischaemic stroke,ultra-acute administration of transdermal GTN in the ambulance did not improve clinical outcomes in a population with more clinical and radiological frailty than seen in previous in-hospital *** IS ALREADY KNOWN ON THIS TOPIC⇒Transdermal glyceryl trinitrate(GTN)was associat-ed with less death and dependency in those w

两个大陆的汇聚可以通过地壳加厚作用和地壳向大陆汇聚路径以外的侧向运移进行调整.侧向运移具有重要意义的主要特征是,大走滑断裂的走向近垂直于大陆的汇聚方向.沿这类断裂的位移可以使相对于汇聚大陆的物质向侧向运移,这可以解释两大陆间相互汇聚作用的巨大份量.这类走滑断裂运动的最典型实例在西藏高原东部.这里有三条巨大的滑动速率大于10mm/a的左旋断裂,另有数条较小的近平行断层控制着该地区的区域应变场.Cobbold和Davy认为这些断裂可能是以顺时针方向旋转的.本文提出了这种旋转的速率范围,并且总结出沿这些断裂侧向滑动构成的图象,这种图象曾称之为“大陆逃逸(continental escape)”、“挤出(extrusion)”、“驱出(expulsion)”.这种认识其实是一种错觉,实际上,西藏东部沿东西向断裂的左行滑动是南北向右行简单剪切的表象.如果这个结论正确,东西向的左行滑动断裂及其间的地壳块体将以1～2°/Ma的速度顺时针旋转,同时西藏东部的东西距离以10～20mm/a缩短,并且几乎没有物质通过左行简单剪切离开印度挤入欧亚大陆的路径向东运移.

中国政府层面自上而下的防震减灾管理卓有成效;但是,对于提升全社会的整体防震减灾能力而言,尚需推动基于此而又有民众与基层自下而上广泛参与的全社会治理模式。为发展这种模式积累经验,渭南市地震情景构建示范项目借助参与式行动研究范式,特别关注了中国防震减灾工作当前存在的以下2点广泛不足:一是社会民众与基层的自下而上办法薄弱,且与政府层面自上而下对策之间的相互衔接与促进不足;二是科学研究向实际减灾对策的转化不足,特别是针对自下而上办法的科学研究与应用转化不足。取得的主要进展有:1)基于广泛参与理念,通过"研究者"和"减灾实践者"、"相关者"、"当事人"2方面人员间的密切合作,共同诊断评估了渭南面临的主要地震灾害风险及隐患、共同提炼了针对性的减灾对策改进建议等,从而使情景构建所得的结果或认识更加可靠、所提对策建议更加符合当地实际需要;借助行动研究过程平台,尝试了风险评估、风险沟通和风险对策改进3大环节的无缝衔接与同步互动,促进了科学研究与实际应用的直接对接与就地转化。2)基于多尺度、多层面视角和同时为"政府"或"部门"与"基层"或"民众"两大类用户服务。在关注改进自上而下对策的同时,针对薄弱的自下而上办法,特别是就这两大对策途径间最广泛与最可持续的接口——宣传教育和家庭、学校、社区减灾,开展了大规模的专项调查分析,梳理了系列化的现今本底与改进方向。3)聚焦改善减灾宣教和促进风险沟通,编创了由"故事"引导的2版内容与形式均有显著差别的地震情景叙事读本:政府版和公众版,以期借助"故事"和艺术呈现"故事"带动人们更好地理解与应用情景构建结果和认识,借助"故事"演绎社会性灾害脆弱成分——"留守儿童家庭与贫困"之于灾害的强化与叠加效应,促进人们对地震灾害风险更加全面与深入的认识;在理性刻板科学中融入感性与人文艺术情怀,以引导共识与共鸣、改善减灾态度、培养减灾价值观,进而激发减灾行动和减灾参与意愿,特别是激励人们就相关问题进行长期思考和持续行动改善。以上3方面进展,从总体上实现了对中国防震减灾工作存在的前述2点广泛不足的有益研讨与部分弥补推动尝试。参与式渭南地震情景构建行动研究示范,对国内相关工作具有抛砖引玉的作用,也为国际同类工作积累了中国经验。

Extent and chronology of Quaternary glaciation

In a recent INQUA project the extent of Pleistocene glaciations has been digitally mapped and the chronology of events reviewed. The onset of the present Ice Age in both hemispheres dates back to the Palaeogene. In Greenland, Iceland, North America and southernmost South America sizeable ice sheets formed well before 2.6 ka BP. In Alaska and on Tierra del Fuego the ice advanced further than in any later glaciations. Evidence for Early Pleistocene glaciation (2.6-0.78 Ma) has been reported from many parts of the world, but in most cases dating remains problematic, and the size of the glaciers and ice sheets is unknown. A number of Middle Pleistocene glaciations (0.78-0.13 Ma) have been identified, mostly correlated with MIS 16, 12 and 6, including the Donian, Elsterian and Saalian of Europe. The extent of the MIS 6 glaciations is well known. Especially in Eurasia the extent of the Late Pleistocene (0.13 Ma to present) glaciations had to be revised. Major ice advances are reported for 80-100 ka BP, c. 70-80 ka BP and c. 20 ka BP, with the earlier glaciations being most extensive in the east. The very different shapes of the ice sheets - Donian vs Elsterian, Early vs Late Weichselian - are as yet difficult to explain and remain a challenge for climatic modellers.

The Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)ecohydrological model is used worldwide to evaluate hydrological and water quality concerns across a plethora of watershed scales and environmental *** ten studies featured in this special issue confirm the global utility of SWAT,which include applications of the model in Brazil,China,Ethiopia and the United *** range of applications reported in the special issue mirror broader trends in the extensive existing SWAT literature and provide valuable insights regarding input data sensitivity,testing,scenario analysis,software development and other important SWAT-related *** summaries of these ten studies in this SWAT special issue are provided,highlighting key procedures and findings for each application.A brief description of SWAT structure and historical development is also given including a complete listing of key documentation and enhancements for every major release of the model between the early 1990s to the present *** overview will serve as a guide to better reading and understanding of the ten research papers in this SWAT special issue of IJABE.

A proposed Global Stratotype Section and Point （GSSP） for the base of the Upper （Late） Pleistocene Subseries （Quaternary System/Period）

Following the precedence already established during the INQUA Congress in 1932, the Middle/Upper (Late) Pleistocene boundary is defined at the base of the Last Interglacial, the Eemian Stage. It is proposed that a high-resolution core sequence from the Amsterdam Terminal (the Eemian Stage parastratotype) should constitute the Global Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) for the base of the Upper (Late) Pleistocene Subseries (Quaternary System/Period). The core contains a proxy climate record across the Middle/Upper (Late) Pleistocene boundary as indicated by different biotic and abiotic parameters reflecting the first signs of climate warming at the end of the Saalian cold Stage. For the beginning of the Eemian Stage in Europe, the date of 127.2 ka from the varved-dated record of Monticchio in Italy can be taken as the best estimate of age.

Scenario-based Unit Commitment Optimization for Power System with Large-scale Wind Power Participating in Primary Frequency Regulation

Continuous increase of wind power penetration brings high randomness to power system,and also leads to serious shortage of primary frequency regulation(PFR)reserve for power system whose reserve capacity is typically provided by conventional *** large-scale wind power participating in PFR,this paper proposes a unit commitment optimization model with respect to coordination of steady state and transient *** addition to traditional operation costs,losses of wind farm de-loaded operation,environmental benefits and transient frequency safety costs in high-risk stochastic scenarios are also considered in the ***,the model makes full use of interruptible loads on demand side as one of the PFR reserve sources.A selection method for high-risk scenarios is also proposed to improve the calculation ***,this paper proposes an inner-outer iterative optimization method for the model *** method is validated by the New england 10-machine system,and the results show that the optimization model can guarantee both the safety of transient frequency and the economy of system operation.
