It has recently been shown that incident particles, neutrons, can initiate the freezing in a supercooled water volume. This new finding may have ramifications for the interpretation of both experimental data on the nucleation of laboratory samples of supercooled water and perhaps more importantly on the interpretation of ice nucleation involved in cloud physics. For example, if some fraction of the cloud nucleation previously attributed to dust, soot, or aerosols has been caused by cosmogenic neutrons, fresh consideration is required in the context of climate models. Moreover, as cosmogenic neutrons, most being muon-induced, have much greater flux at high latitudes, estimates of ice nucleates in these regions may be larger than required to accurately model cloud and condensation properties. This discrepancy has been pointed out in IPCC reports. Our paper discusses the connection between the new concept of neutrons nucleating supercooled water and the need for a new source of nucleation in high latitude clouds, ideally causing others to review current data, or to analyse future data with this idea in mind. .

难熔高熵合金在高温下表现出优异的性能,突破了传统高温合金的工作温度上限.我们采用原子模拟研究了化学元素分布和温度对等原子比MoNbTaw难熔高熵合金变形机制的影响.根据微观结构演化,建立了基于微观结构的本构模型,定量评估多种强化机制的贡献.结果表明,应变硬化后,流动应力随应变呈锯齿状剧烈波动.由于退火结构的溶质浓度降低,温度升高降低了应变硬化率和流动应力波动幅度.变形孪晶在变形机制中起着关键作用,能够通过位错基塑性和晶粒中的非晶形核进一步调节局部变形.有序结构的存在强烈影响了应力和应变分配.固溶强化和晶界强化对流动应力的贡献很大,孪晶强化对流动压力的贡献很小.原子模拟和力学模型为深入理解难熔高熵合金变形行为及性能的精确预测提供依据.

This interview was conducted on August 21st, 2022 by Charles Buck and Ioannis Solos. peter Deadman has worked in the field of health promotion for 50 years. He co-founded Infinity Foods(an organic and natural foods workers co-op) in 1971, followed by the Brighton Natural Health Centre-a charity dedicated to teaching ways to improve personal, community and planetary health and wellbeing. He qualified as an acupuncturist in 1978 and in Chinese herbal medicine in 1990. He founded The Journal of Chinese Medicine(UK) in 1979(Fig. 1), and co-authored A Manual of Acupuncture(published in 1998). He is the author of Live well Live Long: Teachings from the Chinese Nourishment of Life Tradition. He has taught Chinese medicine and health promotion internationally for decades and is a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Qi Gong(气功).

Alzheimer’s disease has proven to be largely intractable to treatment,despite years of research,and numerous trials of therapies that target the hallmarks of the disease-amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary *** etiology of Alzheimer’s disease remains *** is a growing body of evidence for an infectious trigger of Alzheimer’s disease,and,in particular,the focus has been on the oral pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis(***).Reports of the expression of a misfolded form of p53 in non-neuronal cells(fibroblasts,peripheral blood mononuclear cells,and B cells)and serum,which appears several years before clinical symptoms manifest,may provide further support for the role of bacteria in general,and *** in particular,in the initiation of the *** review presents a model of the pathway from initial oral infection with *** to amyloid plaque formation and neuronal degeneration,via the steps of chronic periodontitis;secretion of the inflammagens lipopolysaccharide and gingipains into the bloodstream;induction of an inflammatory response in both peripheral cells and tissues;disruption of the blood-brain barrier,and entry into the central nervous system of the inflammagens and the *** bacteria *** this model,the misfolded p53(or“unfolded p53”;up53)is induced in non-neuronal cells and upregulated in serum as a result of oxidative stress due to lipopolysaccharide from ***53 is therefore a potential biomarker for early diagnosis of the presence of a causative agent of Alzheimer’s *** dental hygiene and aggressive antibiotic treatment may prevent the patient progressing to clinical Alzheimer’s disease if serum up53 is detected at this pre-symptomatic stage.

There is growing interest in applying phase field methods as quantitative tools in materials discovery and ***,large driving forces,common in many materials systems,lead to unstable phase field profiles,thus requiring fine spatial and temporal *** demands more computational resources,limits the ability to simulate systems with a suitable size,and deteriorates the capability of quantitative ***,we develop a strategy to map the driving force to a constant perpendicular to the *** with the third-order interpolation function,we find a stable phase field profile that is independent of the magnitude of the driving *** power of this approach is illustrated using three *** demonstrate that by using the driving force extension method,it is possible to employ a grid size orders of magnitude larger than traditional *** approach is general and should apply to many other phase field models.

This paper presents the results of thermal comfort and air quality studies in naturally ventilated residential buildings in Kampala City,*** surveys were used for obtaining occupant subjective thermal sensation *** and outdoor measurements for air temperature(T_(a)),Mean Radiant Temperature(MRT),relative humidity,air speed,and air quality were done for seven buildings over fifteen days during the month of June *** software was used to develop the reference building model and to simulate strategies for improvement of thermal *** results showed that 67.8%of the respondents were comfortable with the indoor thermal *** indoor air temperature range was 22.7℃-27.9℃ which lies within the 80%acceptable limits set by ASHRAE *** measured indoor MRT range was 24.24℃-25.57℃.Measured levels of indoor PM_(2.5)were double the world Health Organization recommended limits,while the levels of PM 10 were thrice the recommended limits of ASHRAE *** CO_(2)concentrations were within the limits set by ASHRAE *** developed model predicted comfortable indoor conditions with a temperature range of 23.6℃-25.3℃ based on the 80%acceptable limits set by ASHRAE *** results show that majority of occupants preferred cooler temperatures during the day which is justified by the use of adaptive measures to obtain thermal comfort.

The capture,storage,and release of CO_(2)is one of the most pressing issues in ***,we designed bis(formazanate)magnesium complexes as precursors,which were synthesized by straightforward transamination between the neutral formazan[PhNNC(4-tBuPh)NNHPh](LH)and[Mg{N(SiMe_(3))_(2)}_(2)].Depending on the solvent,either the homoleptic complex[L_(2)Mg]or the thf-coordinated complex[L_(2)Mg(thf)]was *** of the solvent-free complex[L_(2)Mg]with CO_(2)led to stoichiometric insertion into one of the four Mg–Nbonds with concomitant rearrangement of the ligand scaffold which adopts a trinuclear cagelike *** insertion reaction is reversible depending on thermolysis or treatment with tetrahydrofuran,which is corroborated by density functional theory *** showcases the first example of reversible uptake of CO_(2)by an s-block coordination compound.

we have discovered a route to access the longest low-valent molecular silaphospha-chain,a sevenmembered chain structure that incorporates three silicon and four phosphorus atoms by stepwise activation of white phosphorus(P_(4))using two different silylene *** chain species was formed via a highly reactive polyphosphide *** isolation of a stable analogue of this reaction intermediate was achieved by stepwise reaction with mono and bis(silylenes).Due to the rigidity of the ferrocenediyl framework of the bis(silylene),the isomerization process of the chain structure was *** studies such as natural bond orbital and atoms in molecules analyses of the seven-membered chain species indicated some degree of delocalization of the double bond system.
