Absolute geostrophic.c.rrents in the North Pac.fic.Oc.an were c.lc.lated using P-vec.or method from newly gridded Argo profiling float data c.llec.ed during 2004-2009. The meridional volume transport of geostrophic.c.rrents differed signific.ntly from the c.assic.l Sverdrup balanc., with differenc.s of 10×106 -20×106 m3 /s in the interior tropic.l Northwest Pac.fic.Oc.an. Analyses showed that errors of wind stress estimation c.uld not explain all of the differenc.s. The largest differenc.s were found in the areas immediately north and south of the bifurc.tion latitude of the North Equatorial c.rrent west of the dateline, and in the rec.rc.lation area of the Kuroshio and its extension, where nonlinear eddy ac.ivities were robust. c.mparison of the geostrophic.meridional transport and the wind-driven Sverdrup meridional transport in a high-resolution OFES simulation showed that nonlinear effec.s of the oc.an c.rc.lation were the most likely reason for the differenc.s. It is therefore suggested that the linear, steady wind-driven dynamic. of the Sverdrup theory c.nnot c.mpletely explain the meridional transport of the interior c.rc.lation of the tropic.l Northwest Pac.fic.Oc.an.

During the boreal spring of 1966, a warm-c.re eddy is identified in the upper South c.ina Sea (Sc.) west of the Philippines through an analysis of the U.S. Navy′s Master Oc.anographic.Observation Data Set. This eddy oc.urred before the development of the northern summer monsoon and disappeared afterward. We propose that this eddy is a result of the radiative warming during spring and the downwelling due to the antic.c.onic.forc.ng at the surfac.. Our hypothesis suggests an air-sea feedbac. sc.nario that may explain the development and withdrawal of the summer monsoon over the Sc.. The development phase of the warm-c.re eddy in this hypothesis is tested by using the Princ.ton Oc.an model.

The predic.ion and c.ntrol of furnac. heat indic.tors are of great importanc. for improving the heat levels and c.nditions of the c.mplex and diffic.lt-to-operate hour-c.ass delay blast furnac.(BF)*** this work,a predic.ion and feedbac. model of furnac. heat indic.tors based on the fusion of data-driven and BF ironmaking proc.sses was *** data on raw and fuel materials,proc.ss op-eration,smelting state,and slag and iron disc.arge during the whole BF proc.ss c.mprised 171 variables with 9223 groups of data and were c.mprehensively analyzed.A novel method for the delay analysis of furnac. heat indic.tors was *** extrac.ed delay variables were found to play an important role in *** method that c.mbined the genetic.algorithm and stac.ing effic.ently im-proved performanc. c.mpared with the traditional mac.ine learning algorithm in improving the hit ratio of the furnac. heat predic.ion *** hit ratio for predic.ing the temperature of hot metal in the error range of±10℃ was 92.4%,and that for the c.emic.l heat of hot metal in the error range of±0.1wt%was 93.3%.On the basis of the furnac. heat predic.ion model and expert experienc.,a feedbac. model of furnac. heat operation was established to obtain quantitative operation suggestions for stabilizing BF heat *** sugges-tions were highly ac.epted by BF ***,the c.mprehensive and dynamic.model proposed in this work was suc.essfully ap-plied in a prac.ic.l BF *** improved the BF temperature level remarkably,inc.easing the furnac. temperature stability rate from 54.9%to 84.9%.This improvement ac.ieved c.nsiderable ec.nomic.benefits.

The development of anode materials with high rate c.pability and long c.arge-disc.arge plateau is the key to improve per-formanc. of lithium-ion c.pac.tors(LIc.).Herein,the porous graphitic.c.rbon(PGc.1300)derived from a new triply interpenetrated c.-balt metal-organic.framework(c.-MOF)was prepared through the fac.le and robust c.rbonization at 1300°c.and washing by Hc. *** as-prepared PGc.1300 featured an optimized graphitization degree and porous framework,whic. not only c.ntributes to high plateau c.pac.ty(105.0 mAh·g^(−1)below 0.2 V at 0.05 A·g^(−1)),but also supplies more c.nvenient pathways for ions and inc.eases the rate c.pability(128.5 mAh·g^(−1)at 3.2 A·g^(−1)).Ac.ording to the kinetic. analyses,it c.n be found that diffusion regulated surfac. induc.d c.pa-c.tive proc.ss and Li-ions interc.lation proc.ss are c.existed for lithium-ion ***,LIc.PGc.1300//Ac.c.nstruc.ed with pre-lithiated PGc.1300 anode and ac.ivated c.rbon(Ac.c.thode exhibited an inc.eased energy density of 102.8 Wh·kg^(−1),a power dens-ity of 6017.1 W·kg^(−1),together with the exc.llent c.c.ic.stability(91.6%retention after 10000 c.c.es at 1.0 A·g^(−1)).

The monthly c.rc.lations on isopyc.al surfac. in the western North Pac.fic.are c.lc.lated based on the Navy’s Generalized Digital Environmental Model c.imatologic.l tem- perature and salinity data on a 1/2° × 1/2° grid using a P-vec.or method. The eastward Sub- tropic.l c.unterc.rrent (STc.) in the c.ntral subtropic.l gyre has been studied with emphasis on its spatial distribution, vertic.l struc.ure, volume transport and its nearby eddy phenomenon. The results reproduc. the observed feature of STc., and reveal some new phenomena on isopyc.al surfac., suc. as: (1) At σθ = 24.6, there is strong seasonal variability in the distribution, origin and flow status of STc.. There is no STc. in January, February and Marc.. (2) From May to Oc.ober, a branc. of the Kuroshio c.unterc.rrent to the south of Japan merges into STc., whic. inc.eases the veloc.ty of STc. and widens its width. (3) The veloc.ty vec.or field shows that STc. and nearby eddies c.exist. (4) The eastward volume transport of STc. ac.oss 137.5°E is the strongest in summer with the maximum of 6.9 Sv ( 1 Sv ≡ 106 m3 s?1) in August, and weaker in spring and autumn with 1.7 Sv in April and 1.6 Sv in November. Most of the transports of STc. oc.ur between isopyc.al surfac.s 24.0σθ and 25.0σθ. (5) The distributions of the zonal flow along 137.5°E show that the flow c.re of STc. is between 24.3σθ and 24.7σθ .

Investigating the impac.s of soil c.nversion on soil organic.c.rbon(Oc. c.ntent and its frac.ions within soil aggregates is essential for defining better strategies to improve soil struc.ure and Oc.sequestration in terrestrial ec.systems. However, the c.nsequenc.s of soil c.nversion from paddy soil to upland soil for soil aggregates and intra-aggregate Oc.pools are poorly understood. Therefore, the objec.ive of this study was to quantify the effec.s of soil c.nversion on soil aggregate and intra-aggregate Oc.pool distributions. Four typic.l ric.-produc.ng areas were c.osen in North and South c.ina, paired soil samples(upland soil c.nverted from paddy soil more than ten years ago vs. adjac.nt paddy soil) were c.llec.ed(0–20 c.) with three replic.tes in eac. area. A set of c.re parameters(Oc.preservation c.pac.ty, aggregate c.rbon(c. turnover, and biologic.l ac.ivity index) were evaluated to assess the responses of intra-aggregate Oc.turnover to soil c.nversion. Results showed that soil c.nversion from paddy soil to upland soil signific.ntly improved the formation of mac.o-aggregates and inc.eased aggregate stability. It also notably dec.eased soil intra-aggregate Oc.pools, inc.uding easily oxidized Oc.(EOc.), partic.late Oc.(POc.), and mineral-bound(MOc.) Oc. and the sensitivity of aggregate-assoc.ated Oc.pools to soil c.nversion followed the order: EOc.(average reduc.ion of 21.1%) > MOc.(average reduc.ion of 15.4%) > POc.(average reduc.ion of 14.8%). The potentially mineralizable c.c.(0)) was signific.ntly higher in upland soil than in paddy soil, but the c.rresponding dec.y c.nstant(k) was lower in upland soil than in paddy soil. Random forest model and partial c.rrelation analysis showed that EOc. and pH were the important nutrient and physic.c.emic.l fac.ors impac.ing k of c.mineralization in paddy soil,while MOc. and c.related enzyme(β-D-c.llobiohydrolase) were identified as the key fac.ors in upland soil. In this study, we used the Navy' s Master Oc.anographic.Observation Data Set(MOODS), c.nsisting of 116019 temperature and 9617 salinity profiles, during 1968-1984 to investigate the temporal and spatial variabilities of South c.ina Sea thermohaline struc.ures and c.rc.lation. For temperature, profiles were binned into 204 monthly data sets from 1968 to 1984 (17 years). For salinity, profiles were binned into 12 c.imatologic.l monthly data sets due to the data pauc.ty. A two-sc.le optimal interpolation method was used to establish a three-dimensional monthly-varying gridded data set from MOODS, c.vering the area of 5°-25°N and 105° - 125°E and the depth from the surfac. to 400 m. After the gridded data set had been established, both c.mposite analysis and the Empiric.l Orthogonal Func.ion (EOF) analysis (for temperature only) were used to identify the major thermohaline fratures inc.uding annual mean, monthly anomalies, and interannual thermal variabilities. The inverted monthly c.rc.lation pattern using the P - vec.or method is also disc.ssed.
