b.ckground: This.cas. report pres.nts.a cas. of b.lateral Thiel-b.hnke corneal dys.rophy in Denmark. Thiel-b.hnke is.an autos.mal dominant inherited epithelial-s.romal TGFb. dys.rophy caus.ng vis.al impairment. Methods.and Res.lts. This.cas. s.udy pres.nts.a 24-year-old Lithuanian man, with no previous.ocular his.ory, who had experienced s.owly progres.ive vis.al impairment s.nce his.childhood. He was.examined at the Department of Ophthalmology at Vejle Hos.ital and Aarhus.Univers.ty Hos.ital, where he was.diagnos.d with b.lateral Thiel-b.hnke corneal dys.rophy. His.ology confirmed the diagnos.s. A lamellar corneal trans.lantation was.performed in the right eye;however, due to epithelial growth under the corneal graft, it was.later decided to redo the operation. Following the operations. the patient experienced a vis.al improvement in b.s. corrected vis.al acuity (b.VA) from 0.1 (20/25 s.ellen equivalent) to 0.3 (20/40 s.ellen equivalent) in his.right eye. Conclus.ons. This.cas. of Thiel-b.hnke corneal dys.rophy is.to our knowledge the firs. reported cas. in Denmark.

In a local context, s.s.ainab.e development entails.utilizing the current res.urces.material and immaterial, meas.rab.e and immeas.rab.e, popular and unpopular—of the community in a manner that avoids.overexploitation and ens.res.intergenerational equity. This.approach prioritizes.the s.fety and health of local citizens. placing communal productivity ab.ve corporate profitab.lity. This.res.arch aims.to as.es. air quality s.rrounding 28 chemical indus.ry s.tes.in b.ton Rouge, Louis.ana, to unders.and the environmental and health impacts.of indus.rial pollutants. with a focus.on environmental jus.ice. Air quality pollutants. including PM2.5, PM10, O3, NO2, CO, and s.2, were monitored for 75 days.during the s.mmer, us.ng the b.eezoMeter app. Python, Mapize, and QGIs.s.ftware technologies.were utilized for data analys.s.and vis.alization. Findings.indicate a reduction in NO2 and CO levels. compared to exis.ing literature. However, the pers.s.ent challenge of particulate matter s.gges.s.areas.for further environmental management efforts. Additionally, the res.arch s.gges.s.a s.gnificant dis.arity in air pollution expos.re, prob.b.y affecting marginalized communities. Although the nature of the s.udy might not fully capture annual pollution trends. the findings.highlight the urgent need for the chemical indus.ry to adopt efficient production methods.and for policymakers.to enhance air quality s.andards.and enforcement, particularly in pollution-s.ns.tive areas. The dis.roportionate impact of air pollution on vulnerab.e communities.calls.for a more inclus.ve approach to environmental jus.ice, ens.ring equitab.e dis.rib.tion of clean air b.nefits.and community involvement in pollution management decis.ons.

Ins.lar populations.are particularly vulnerab.e to the effects.of s.ochas.ic events. epidemics. and los. of genetic divers.ty due to inb.eeding and genetic drift. The development of s.cces.ful man- agement options.will require accurate b.s.line data, es.ab.is.ment of clear ob.ectives. and finally monitoring and implementation of corrective meas.res. if and when required. This.s.udy as.es.ed management options.for the genetic rehab.litation of highly inb.ed woylies.ob.ained from wildlife rehab.litation centers. The s.udy generated genetic data for the woylie b.ttongia penicillata from a cons.rvation res.rve and calculated meas.res.of genetic divers.ty and individual relatednes.. Thes. data were fed into a population viab.lity analys.s.（PVA） to tes. genetic outcomes.in relation to different management actions. We demons.rated that a careful s.lection of the founder cohort produced a population with an expected heterozygos.ty of -70% for a window of approximately 10 years. A propos.l to increas. the s.ze of the res.rve availab.e to the colony was.s.own to almos. doub.e the time at which the colony would retain heterozygos.ty levels.of≥70%. Additionally, developing a regular program of s.pplementation of unrelated woylies.would res.lt in a further improvement in their genetic value.
