Sleep disturbances are among the most prevalent neuropsychiatric symptoms in individuals who have recovered from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 *** studies have demonstrated abnormal brain structures in patients with sleep disturbances who have recovered from coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).However,neuroimaging studies on sleep disturbances caused by COVID-19 are scarce,and existing studies have primarily focused on the long-term effects of the virus,with minimal acute phase *** a result,little is known about the pathophysiology of sleep disturbances in the acute phase of *** address this issue,we designed a longitudinal study to investigate whether alterations in brain structure occur during the acute phase of infection,and verified the results using 3-month follow-up data.A total of 26 COVID-19 patients with sleep disturbances(aged 51.5±13.57 years,8 women and 18 men),27 COVID-19 patients without sleep disturbances(aged 47.33±15.98 years,9 women and 18 men),and 31 age-and gender-matched healthy controls(aged 49.19±17.51 years,9 women and 22 men)were included in this *** COVID-19 patients with sleep disturbances were included in a longitudinal *** found that COVID-19 patients with sleep disturbances exhibited brain structural changes in almost all brain *** cortical thicknesses of the left pars opercularis and left precuneus were significantly negatively correlated with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index ***,we observed changes in the volume of the hippocampus and its subfield regions in COVID-19 patients compared with the healthy *** 3-month follow-up data revealed indices of altered cerebral structure(cortical thickness,cortical grey matter volume,and cortical surface area)in the frontal-parietal cortex compared with the baseline in COVID-19 patients with sleep *** findings indicate that the sleep disturbances patients had altered morphology in the cortical an

AIM:To study characteristics of collateral circulation of gastric varices (GVs) with 64-row multidetector computer tomography portal venography (MDCTPV).METHODS:64-row MDCTPV with a slice thickness of 0.625 mm and a scanning field from 2 cm above the tracheal bifurcation to the lower edge of the kidney was performed in 86 patients with GVS diagnosed by endoscopy. The computed tomography protocol included unenhanced,arterial and portal vein phases. The MDCTPV was performed on an AW4.3 workstation. GVs were classified into three types according to Sarin's Classification. The afferent and efferent veins of each type of GV were ***:The afferent venous drainage originated mostly from the left gastric vein alone (LGV) (28/86,32.59%),or the LGV more than the posterior gastric vein/short gastric vein [LGV > posterior gastric vein/short gastric vein (PGV/SGV)] (22/86,25.58%),as seen by MDCTPV. The most common efferent venousdrainage was via the azygos vein to the superior vena cava (53/86,61.63%),or via the gastric/splenorenal shunt (37/86,43.02%) or inferior phrenic vein (8/86,9.30%) to the inferior vena cava. In patients with gastroesophageal varices type 1,the afferent venous drainage of GV mainly originated from the LGV or LGV > PGV/SGV (43/48,89.58%),and the efferent venous drainage was mainly via the azygos vein to the super vena cava (43/48,89.58%),as well as via the gastric/splenorenal shunt (8/48,16.67%) or inferior phrenic vein (3/48,6.25%) to the inferior vena cava. In patients with gastroesophageal varices type 2,the afferent venous drainage of the GV mostly came from the PGV/SGV more than the LGV (PGV/SGV > LGV) (8/16,50%),and the efferent venous drainage was via the azygos vein (10/16,62.50%) and gastric/splenorenal shunt (9/16,56.25%). Adsorption and separation of C_(4) hydrocarbons are crucial steps in petrochemical *** of porous materials for enhancing the separation efficiency have paid much ***-organic frameworks of diamond-topology,dia-COFs,often exhibit unique structural properties such as interpenetration isomerism and pedal ***,in order to get a deep insight into the structure-performance correlation of such dia-COFs,a series of dia-COF materials have been proposed and theoretically investigated on the C_(4) *** is found that these dia-COFs display an excellent adsorption and separation property towards isobutene with respect to other C_(4) hydrocarbons(i.e.,1,3-butadiene,1-butene,2-cis-butene,2-trans-butene,isobutane and n-butane).What’s more,the correlation between the topology parameters and experimental synthesis feasibility has been established for COF-300(dia-cN),and the unreported COF-300(dia-c3) is predicted to be experimentally feasible *** findings not only provide a deep insight into the mechanism of topology characteristics of dia-COFs on C_(4) adsorption and separation properties but also guide the design and synthesis of novel highly-effective porous materials.

Signal transducer and activator of transcription （STAT） proteins play an important role in cytokine signaling pathways and regulation of immune responses. The balance of the phosphorylated （activated） STAT1 （pSTAT1） and STAT3 （pSTAT3） has been documented in cancer immunology. In this study, we investigated the dynamic balance of pSTAT1 and pSTAT3 in C57BL/6 mice infected with either a nonlethal （Py17XNL） or lethal （Py17XL） strain of Plasmodium yoelii. Both Py17XNL and Py17XL infections induced a maximum activation of STAT1 and STAT3 on the first day after parasite inoculation. Additionally, the Py17XNL infection induced a pSTAT1- dominant response in mice during the early stage of infection, with the resolution of parasitemia. In contrast, Py17XL infection induced a pSTAT3-dominant response during the early phase of infection, with the death of the animals. Our results indicated that maximum activation of STAT1 and STAT3 occurred much earlier than the peak levels of cytokines induced by Plasmodium yoelii infection based on previous reports and that infection with Py17XNL and Py17XL induced different dynamic patterns of pSTAT1 and pSTAT3 balance.

Nano-Y2O3 and nano-CeO2 of different weight ratio mixed with deionizing water were doped into MoO2 powder by liquid-solid doping method. The diameter 1.80 and 0.18 mm alloy wires of Mo-0.3Y, Mo-0.3Ce, and Mo-0.15Y-0.15Ce were prepared through reduction, iso- static pressing, sintering, and drawing. Tensile properties, second phase microstructure and fracture surface appear- ance of wires were analyzed. The better refining effect for Mo alloy powder can be gotten after two kinds of nano- particle oxide doped into MoO2 than only one doped. Nano-Y2O3 and nano-CeO2 have different influences on sintering process. For nano-CeO2, the constraining effect of grain growth focuses on the initial sintering stage, nano- Y2O3 plays refining grains roles in the later densification stage. Nano-Y2O3 is undistorted and keeps intact in the process of drawing; and nano-CeO2 is elongated and bro- ken into parts in the drawing direction. The strengthening effect of nano-Y2O3 and nano-CeO2 keeps the finer grains and superior tensile properties for Mo-0.15Y-0.15Ce wire.

Cadmium(Cd)is a toxic heavy metal occurring in the environment naturally and is also generated through various anthropogenic sources and acts as a *** health is affected by Cd pollution in farmland soils because food is the main source of Cd intake in the non-smoking *** crops,Cd toxicity may result from a disturbance in uptake and translocation of mineral nutrients and disturbance in plant metabolism,inhibiting plant growth and ***,plants have Cd tolerance mechanisms,including restricted Cd uptake,decreased Cd root-to-shoot translocation,enhanced antioxidant enzyme activities,and increased production of ***,optimal supply of mineral nutrients is one of the strategies to alleviate the damaging effects of Cd on plants and to avoid its entry into the food *** emerging molecular knowledge contributes to understanding Cd uptake,translocation,and remobilization in *** this review,Cd toxicity and tolerance mechanisms,agricultural practices to minimize Cd accumulation,Cd competition with essential elements(calcium,copper,iron,zinc,and manganese),and genes associated with Cd uptake are discussed in detail,especially regarding how these mineral nutrients and genes play a role in decreasing Cd uptake and accumulation in crop plants.
