Fe/N-based biomass porous carbon composite(Fe/N-p Carbon) was prepared by a facile high-temperature carbonization method from biomass,and the effect of Fe/N-p Carbon on the thermal decomposition of energetic molecular perovskite-based material DAP-4 was studied.Biomass porous carbonaceous materials was considered as the micro/nano support layers for in situ deposition of Fe/N precursors.Fe/Np Carbon was prepared simply by the high-temperature carbonization method.It was found that it showed the inherent catalysis properties for thermal decomposition of DAP-4.The heat release of DAP-4/Fe/N-p Carbon by DSC curves tested had increased slightly,compared from DAP-4/Fe/N-p Carbon-0.The decomposition temperature peak of DAP-4 at the presence of Fe/N-p Carbon had reduced by 79°C from384.4°C(pure DAP-4) to 305.4°C(DAP-4/Fe/N-p Carbon-3).The apparent activation energy of DAP-4thermal decomposition also had decreased by 29.1 J/mol.The possible catalytic decomposition mechanism of DAP-4 with Fe/N-p Carbon was proposed.

On the backdrop of dwindling conventional reserves,unconventional reservoirs have emerged as a pivotal chapter in resource extraction.Despite their challenges,such as low permeability,complex fluid storage,and flow mechanisms,hydraulic fracturing technology has underpinned the development of unconventional reservoirs.Consequently,this has brought about a shift in the sequence of flow regimes,e.g.,the transient radial flow regime has been largely shortened by the lengthy transient linear flow regime due to the low permeability of unconventional reservoirs.Moreover,straight-line analysis(SLA),the simplest technique in rate transient analysis(RTA),is a fundamental and potent tool for swiftly extracting reservoir and hydraulic fracture information,estimating oil and gas reserves,and furnishing crucial initial data for subsequent historical matching processes.However,there is currently a dearth of review papers pertaining to a necessary guide of applying SLA in various transient linear flow(TLF)regimes and different unconventional reservoirs.Hence,this paper commences by elucidating the classification of TLF regimes,commonly used methods for recognizing flow regimes,and the diverse SLA methods used for different TLF regimes.Subsequently,it delves into a discussion of different modification techniques for variable rate/flowing pressure,gas phase,complex reservoir characteristics in unconventional reservoirs,and dynamic drainage area concepts etc.Furthermore,the application of SLA in specific domains,namely core analysis and the flowback period,is described.It culminates by surveying the advancements through an integration of novel technologies to enhance estimation accuracy.The paper also highlights certain drawbacks of current SLA technology and proposes new research directions.Ultimately,this paper would serve as an indispensable resource,offering foundational knowledge for the application of SLA in TLF to promote the production of global unconventional resources in a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable fa

Effects of combustion temperature on the optical properties of brown carbon from biomass burning

Biomass burning has been known as one of main sources of Brown Carbon(BrC)in atmosphere.In this study,by controlling the combustion temperature at 250℃,350℃,and 450℃,the methanol soluble organic carbon(MSOC)and methanol insoluble carbon(MISC)from pine wood burning was collected by impinger.UV–Vis,excitation emission matrix(EEM),TEM and FTIR spectra were applied to investigate the properties of BrC collected.For MSOC at 250℃ and 350℃,all the spectral profiles of UV–Vis absorption and excitation emission matrix are almost the same,while the EEM of MSOC at 450℃ are different from that of the other two.For MISC fuorescence was observed only in the case of 450℃.In the FTIR spectra,with the temperature increasing the peaks associated to the oxygen-contained functions was weakened,indicating the formation of the fuorophores with larger conjugated system,especially aromatic hydrocarbons.Our results show that biomass combustion at low temperature produces more oxygen-riched BrC,which possesses relatively lower light absorption,while at high temperature produces more aromatics hydrocarbons with relatively strong light absorption.The results of this work are helpful to trace the source of brown carbon and optimize biomass energy utilization.

Urban shrinkage has emerged as a widespread phenomenon globally and has a significant impact on land,particularly in terms of land use and price.This study focuses on 2851 county-level cities in China in 2005–2018(excluding Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan,and‘no data’areas in Qinhai-Tibet Plateau)as the fundamental units of analysis.By employing nighttime light(NTL)data to identify shrinking cities,the propensity score matching(PSM)model was used to quantitatively examine the impact of shrinking cities on land prices,and evaluate the magnitude of this influence.The findings demonstrate the following:1)there were 613 shrinking cities in China,with moderate shrinkage being the most prevalent and severe shrinkage being the least.2)Regional disparities are evident in the spatial distribution of shrinking cities,especially in areas with diverse terrain.3)The spatial pattern of land price exhibits a significant correlated to the economic and administrative levels.4)Shrinking cities significantly negatively impact on the overall land price(ATT=–0.1241,P<0.05).However,the extent of the effect varies significantly among different spatial regions.This study contributes novel insights into the investigation of land prices and shrinking cities,ultimately serving as a foundation for government efforts to promote the sustainable development of urban areas.

The hypoxic microenvironment is an essential characteristic of most malignant tu-mors.Notably,hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha(HIF-1a)is a key regulatory factor of cellular adaptation to hypoxia,and many critical pathways are correlated with the biological activity of organisms via HIF-1a.In the intra-tumoral hypoxic environment,HIF-1αis highly expressed and contributes to the malignant progression of tumors,which in turn results in a poor prog-nosis in patients.Recently,it has been indicated that HiF-1αinvolves in various critical pro-cesses of life events and tumor development via regulating the expression of HiF-1a target genes,such as cell proliferation and apoptosis,angiogenesis,glucose metabolism,immune response,therapeutic resistance,etc.Apart from solid tumors,accumulating evidence has re-vealed that HiF-1αis also closely associated with the development and progression of hemato-logical malignancies,such as leukemia,lymphoma,and multiple myeloma.Targeted inhibition of HiF-1a can facilitate an increased sensitivity of patients with malignancies to relevant ther-apeutic agents.In the review,we elaborated on the basic structure and biological functions of HIF-1a and summarized their current role in various malignancies.It is expected that they will have future potential fortargeted therapy.

Most viruses and transposons serve as effective carriers for the introduction of foreign DNA up to 11 kb into vertebrate genomes.However,their activity markedly diminishes with payloads exceeding 11 kb.Expanding the payload capacity of transposons could facilitate more sophisticated cargo designs,improving the regulation of expression and minimizing mutagenic risks associated with molecular therapeutics,metabolic engineering,and transgenic animal production.In this study,we improved the Tol2 transposon by increasing protein expression levels using a translational enhancer(QBI SP163,ST)and enhanced the nuclear targeting ability using the nuclear localization protein H2B(SHT).The modified Tol2 and ST transposon efficiently integrated large DNA cargos into human cell cultures(H1299),comparable to the well-established super PiggyBac system.Furthermore,mRNA from ST and SHT showed a significant increase in transgene delivery efficiency of large DNA payloads(8 kb,14 kb,and 24 kb)into zebrafish(Danio rerio).This study presents a modified Tol2 transposon as an enhanced nonviral vector for the delivery of large DNA payloads in transgenic applications.

Multiple quantum coherences are often employed to describe quantum many-body dynamics in nuclear spin systems and recently,to characterize quantum phase transitions in trapped ions.Here we investigate the multiple-quantum-coherence dynamics of a spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensate.By adjusting the quadratic Zeeman shift,the condensate exhibits three quantum phases.Our numerical results show that the spectrum of multiple quantum coherence does indeed catch the quantum critical points.More importantly,with only a few low-order multiple quantum coherences,the spin-1 condensate exhibits rich signals of the many-body dynamics,beyond conventional observables.The experimental implementation of such multiple quantum coherence protocol is also discussed.

Applying pressure has been evidenced as an effective method to control the properties of semiconductors,owing to its capability to modify the band configuration around Fermi energy.Correspondingly,structural evolutions under external pres-sures are required to analyze the mechanisms.Herein high-pressure structure of a magnetic doped semiconductor Ba(Zn_(0.95)Mn_(0.05))_(2)As_(2)is studied with combination of in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffractions and diamond anvil cells.The materials become ferromagnetic with Curie temperature of 105 K after further 20%K doping.The title material undergoes an isostruc-tural phase transition at around 19 GPa.Below the transition pressure,it is remarkable to find lengthening of Zn/Mn-As bond within Zn/MnAs layers,since chemical bonds are generally shortened with applying pressures.Accompanied with the bond stretch,interlayer As-As distances become shorter and the As-As dimers form after the phase transition.With further compres-sion,Zn/Mn-As bond becomes shortened due to the recovery of isotropic compression on the Zn/MnAs layers.

Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CP/CPPS),also known as National Institutes of Health(NIH)type Ⅲ prostatitis,is a common disorder with an unclear etiology and no known curative treatments.Based on the presence or absence of leukocytes in expressed prostatic secretion(EPS),CP/CPPS is classifiedfurther into Illa(inflammatory)and Illb(noninflammatory)subtypes.However,the severity of symptoms is not entirely consistent with the white blood cell(WBC)count.Following the preliminary finding of a link between inflammatory cytokines and CP/CPPS,we performed this clinical study with the aim of identifying cytokines that are differentially expressed according to whether the prostatitis subtype is Ⅲa or Ⅲb.We found that granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF),interleukin-18(IL-18),and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1)levels were significantly elevated and interferon-inducible protein-10(IP-10)and platelet-derived growth factor-BB(PDGF-BB)levels were downregulated in the EPS of patients with type Ⅲa prostatitis.In a word,it is a meaningful study in which we investigate the levels of various cytokines in EPS according to whether prostatitis is the Ⅲa or Ⅲb subtype.The combination of G-CSF,IL-18,MCP-1,IP-10,and PDGF-BB expression levels could form a basis for classification,diagnosis,and therapeutic targets in clinical P/CPPS.

Low-concentration and multi-component NMHCs capture from oil field exhaust using porous ZIF-8/iso-hexadecane slurry

Non-methane hydrocarbons(NMHCs)are a common type of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)pollutant in the petrochemical industry and have attracted widespread attention because of their adverse health effects and environmental impacts.In this paper,we report a new porous slurry formed with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8)and iso-hexadecane to capture the low-concentration and multi-component NMHCs(mainly ethane(C_(2)H_(6)),propane(C_(3)H_(8)),and n-butane(n-C_(4)H_(10)))from the oil field exhaust.The sorption capacity of C_(2)H_(6)in the slurry is significantly higher than that of nitrogen(N_(2))and methane(CH_(4)).Moreover,the slurry demonstrated a clear advantage for C_(2)H_(6)over N_(2)and CH_(4)in competitive adsorption through the pressure-drop curves.In the NMHCs capture experiments,the C_(3)H_(8)and n-C_(4)H_(10)concentrations after purification can be reduced to below 100 ppm,while the C_(2)H_(6)concentration can reach approximately 180 ppm.More encouragingly,in the breakthrough tests,the slurry exhibits a perfect kinetic separation selectivity for multi-component NMHCs.Furthermore,to avoid structural collapse of ZIF-8 material during long-term use in acidic and wet environments,a certain amount of 2-methylimidazole was retained in the slurry as a protective agent in the material synthesis process.In this way,the ZIF-8 materials in the slurry can retain the stable characteristic structure in an aqueous and acidic environment and keep the capture capacity for NMHCs without degradation.We believe the porous ZIF-8/iso-hexadecane slurry is a promising capture agent for low-concentration and multi-component NMHCs with strong purification capacity and stability.
