The superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) contains immense structural and functional diversity and mediates a myriad of biological processes upon activation by various extracellular *** roles of GPCRs have been established in bone development,remodeling,and *** human GPCR mutations impair bone development or metabolism,resulting in *** we summarize the disease phenotypes and dysfunctions caused by GPCR gene mutations in humans as well as by deletion in *** date,92 receptors (5 glutamate family,67 rhodopsin family,5 adhesion,4 frizzled/taste2 family,5 secretin family,and 6 other 7TM receptors) have been associated with bone diseases and dysfunctions (36 in humans and 72 in animals).By analyzing data from these 92 GPCRs,we found that mutation or deletion of different individual GPCRs could induce similar bone diseases or dysfunctions,and the same individual GPCR mutation or deletion could induce different bone diseases or dysfunctions in different populations or animal *** from human diseases or dysfunctions identified 19 genes whose mutation was associated with human BMD:9 genes each for human height and osteoporosis;4 genes each for human osteoarthritis (OA) and fracture risk;and 2 genes each for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS),periodontitis,osteosarcoma growth,and tooth *** from gene knockout animals found 40 GPCRs whose deficiency reduced bone mass,while deficiency of 22 GPCRs increased bone mass and BMD;deficiency of 8 GPCRs reduced body length,while 5 mice had reduced femur size upon GPCR ***,deficiency in 6 GPCRs induced osteoporosis;4 induced osteoarthritis;3 delayed fracture healing;3 reduced arthritis severity;and reduced bone strength,increased bone strength,and increased cortical thickness were each observed in 2 GPCR-deficiency *** ever-expanding number of GPCR mutation-associated diseases warrants accelerated molecular analysis,population

A healthy ecosystem depends on the coordination of ecosystem structure and *** coordination among ecosystem components,however,is seldom taken into account in current ecosystem health assessments(EHA).Neglect of such coordination may lead to large degrees of uncertainty in EHA and fail to support ecosystem *** propose an approach to quantify the level of dynamic mismatching between ecosystem structure and function and the impact on ecosystem health by incorporating the ecosystem coordination index into *** coordination degree is calculated using variation coefficient of six proxies for ecosystem structure and *** ecosystem at Jiaozhou Bay,as a microcosm of China's coast,has been documented to fluctuate from healthy to unhealthy status over the past three *** results indicate that there is a 3%-17% lower health level than that calculated by common methods used in the literature,indicating that the health of Jiaozhou Bay has become worse than *** change contributes 20%-52% to ecosystem mismatches and is the most uncoordinated ***-related declines account for approximately one-fourth of the total ecological *** scenarios that aim to resolve ecosystem mismatches could increase efficiency by about 50% compared to restoration scenarios that do not consider *** study investigates ecological declines in a coastal bay due to 30 years of rapid economic *** doing so,this study provides novel insights and enhances our understanding of the reasons for failure in ecological restoration.

Zebrafish an emerging animal model for studies comparability with humans, good accessibility to the hearing utilize this animal model, methodologies need to be used to on auditory system. This model presents high organ, and high throughput capacity. To better quantify the hearing function of the zebrafish. Zebrafish displays a series of innate and robust behavior related to its auditory function. Here, we reviewed the advantage of using zebrafish in auditory research and then introduced three behavioral tests, as follows： the startle response, the vestibular-ocular reflex, and rheotaxis. These tests are discussed in terms of their physiological characteristics, up-to-date technical development, and apparatus description. Test limitation and areas to improve are also introduced. Finally, we revealed the feasibility of these applications in zebrafish behavioral assessment and their potential in the high-throughput screening on hearing-related genes and drugs.

An electrochemical method for the simultaneous detection of two different DNA sequences from PAT and FMV 35S gene sequence using CdS and PbS quantum dots （QDs） as labels was described. The QDs were readily functionalized with oligonucleotides as electrochemical DNA probes and selectively hybridized to the complementary sequences immobilized on the microplate. The QDs anchored on the hybrids were dissolved in the solution by the oxidation of HNO3 and further detected by a sensitive differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetric method （DPASV）. The DPASV signals of the oxidation of Cd^2＋ and Pb^2＋ ions present in the solution were different and reflected the identity of corresponding ssDNA targets sequences.

Aerodynamic Characteristic Research on Final Stage Stator of a Highly Loaded Fan

Due to corner separation and other complex three-dimensional flows existing in the highly loaded stator, which influences the fan performance significantly, highly loaded stator blades of a transonic fan with a maximum camber angle of 57° were studied in this paper and sector cascade experiment was adopted. In order to get the stator aerodynamic parameters as realistic as possible and conduct the experiment without the existence of rotor, an adjustable guide vane was designed to simulate the velocity magnitude and direction of the stator inlet flow. Results show that the adjustable guide vane can simulate the rotor outlet velocity direction and magnitude in most span range. The deviation angle is positive and the maximum value is nearly 21° because the severe separation is at 27% span. Corner separation exists on both pressure side and suction side and the location of separation initiation is determined. Finally, the stator blades were redesigned with some suction slots on the suction side. Experiment results show that the suction slots change the flow field structure, increase the capability of flow turning, and decrease the flow loss.

In recent years,production from tight oil reservoirs has increasingly supplemented production from conventional oil ***-wet formations account for a considerable proportion of tight oil *** can change wettability and reduce interfacial tension,thus resulting in a better oil *** this manuscript,a nonionic surfactant was introduced for tight oil-wet *** oil recovery in the oil-wet sandstone due to spontaneous imbibition was 8.59%lower than that of the waterwet sandstone due to *** 0.1%surfactant solution corresponded to the highest imbibition recovery rate of 27.02%from the oil-wet *** the surfactant treatment,the treated core quickly changed from weakly oil-wet to weakly *** capillary force acted as the driving force and promoted *** optimal surfactant adsorption quantity in the oil-wet sandstone was observed in the sample at concentrations ranging from 0.1%to 0.3%,which also corresponded to the highest oil *** of the inverse Bond number NB-1 suggested that the driving force was gravity for brine imbibition in the oil-wet cores and that it was capillary force for surfactant imbibition in the oil-wet *** the surfactant concentration was lower than the critical micelle concentration,the surfactant concentration was negatively correlated with the inverse Bond number and positively correlated with the oil recovery *** the surfactant concentration was higher than the critical micelle concentration,the oil recovery increased with a smaller interfacial *** magnetic resonance suggested that the movable pore and pore throat size in the oil-wet sample decreased from 0.363 mm in the untreated rock to 0.326 mm with the surfactant treatment,which indicated that the surfactant improved the flow capacity of the *** findings of this study can help to better understand the adsorption impact of surfactants on the characteristics of the oil/water and solid/l
