The preparation of bifunctional catalysts for oxygen reduction(ORR)and oxygen evolution(OER)is crucial for Zn-air batteries.Here,we report a La doped CoFe_(2)O_(4)spinel catalyst supported on threedimensional graphene(3D-G),where La can facilitate electron transfer from Co to Fe,leading to increased electron cloud density in Fe and improved catalytic performance.The redshift of the G peak in the Raman spectra indicates the interaction between theπbond of 3D-G and d orbitals in La_(0.2)CoFe_(1.8)0_(4).La_(0.2)CoFe_(1.8)/3D-G exhibits superior ORR performance(E_(1/2)=0.86 V vs.RHE)and OER performance(E_(j=10)=1.55 V vs.RHE)to CoFe_(2)0_(4)/3D-G(E_(1/2)=0.831 V vs.RHE,E_(j=10)=1.603 V vs.RHE).Furthermore,it demonstrates excellent bifunctional oxygen catalytic performance while maintaining high power density and stability in liquid zinc-air batteries(ZABs)and flexible ZABs(F-ZABs).This work presents a viable strategy for utilizing rare earth element doped spinels to enhance oxygen catalyst and zABs performance.

Based on five different ensembles of newly generated(2+1)-flavor configurations with pion mass of approximately mπ■(140-310)MeV,we present a lattice analysis of hidden-charm and hidden-strange hexaquarks with the quark content■.The correlation matrices of two types of operators with JPC=0++,0-+,1++and 1--are simulated to extract the masses of the hexaquark candidates,which are subsequently extrapolated to the physical pion mass and continuum limit.The results indicate that ground state masses are below the■threshold and provide a characteristic signal for the experimental discovery of hexaquark candidates,which may enrich the versatile structure of multiquarks;moreover,it is an indispensable step to decipher the nonperturbative nature of the fundamental interactions of quarks and gluons.

Islet beta cells(β-cells)produce insulin in response to high blood glucose levels,which is essential for preserving glucose homeostasis.Voltage-gated ion channels inβ-cells,including Na+,K+,and Ca2+channels,aid in the release of insulin.The epithelial sodium channel alpha subunit(α-ENaC),a voltage-independent sodium ion channel,is also expressed in human pancreatic endocrine cells.However,there is no reported study on the function of ENaC in theβ-cells.In the current study,we found thatα-ENaC was expressed in human pancreatic glandule and pancreatic isletβ-cells.In the pancreas of db/db mice and high-fat diet-induced mice,and in mouse isletβ-cells(MIN6 cells)treated with palmitate,α-ENaC expression was increased.Whenα-ENaC was overexpressed in MIN6 cells,insulin content and glucose-induced insulin secretion were significantly reduced.On the other hand,palmitate injured isletβ-cells and suppressed insulin synthesis and secretion,but increasedα-ENaC expression in MIN6 cells.However,α-ENaC knockout(Scnn1a−/−)in MIN6 cells attenuatedβ-cell disorder induced by palmitate.Furthermore,α-ENaC regulated the ubiquitylation and degradation of sirtuin 2 inβ-cells.α-ENaC also modulatedβ-cell function in correlation with the inositol-requiring enzyme 1 alpha/X-box binding protein 1(IRE1α/XBP1)and protein kinase RNA-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase/C/EBP homologous protein(PERK/CHOP)endoplasmic reticulum stress pathways.These results suggest thatα-ENaC may play a novel role in insulin synthesis and secretion in theβ-cells,and the upregulation ofα-ENaC promotes isletβ-cell dysfunction.In conclusion,α-ENaC may be a key regulator involved in isletβ-cell damage and a potential therapeutic target for type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Mesopelagic fish(meso-fish)are central species within the Southern Ocean(SO).However,their ecosystem role and adaptive capacity to climate change are rarely integrated into protected areas assessments.This is a pity given their importance as crucial prey and predators in food webs,coupled with the impacts of climate change.Here,we estimate the habitat distribution of nine meso-fish using an ensemble model approach(MAXENT,random forest,and boosted regression tree).Four climate model simulations were used to project their distribution under two representative concentration pathways(RCP4.5 and RCP8.5)for short-term(2006–2055)and long-term(2050–2099)periods.In addition,we assess the ecological representativeness of protected areas under climate change scenarios using meso-fish as indicator species.Our models show that all species shift poleward in the future.Lanternfishes(family Myctophidae)are predicted to migrate poleward more than other families(Paralepididae,Nototheniidae,Bathylagidae,and Gonostomatidae).In comparison,lanternfishes were projected to increase habitat area in the eastern SO but lose area in the western SO;the opposite was projected for species in other families.Important areas(IAs)of meso-fish are mainly distributed near the Antarctic Peninsula and East Antarctica.Negotiated protected area cover 23% of IAs at present and 38%of IAs in the future(RCP8.5,long-term future).Many IAs of meso-fish still need to be included in protected areas,such as the Prydz Bay and the seas around the Antarctic Peninsula.Our results provide a framework for evaluating protected areas incorporating climate change adaptation strategies for protected areas management.

Evaluation of water management on arsenic methylation and volatilization in arsenic-contaminated soils strengthened by bioaugmentation and biostimulation

Arsenic(As) fate in paddy fields has been one of the most significant current issues due to the strong As accumulation potential of rice plants under fooded conditions. However,no attempt was done to explore As methylation and volatilization under non-fooded conditions. Herein, we investigated the effects of water management on As methylation and volatilization in three arsenic-contaminated soils enhanced by biostimulation with strawderived organic matter and bioaugmentation with genetic engineered Pseudomonas putida KT2440(GE P. putida). Under fooded conditions, the application of biochar(BC), rice straw(RS)and their combination(BC+RS) increased total As in porewater. However, these effects were greatly attenuated under non-fooded conditions. Compared with RS amendment alone, the combination of GE P. putida and RS further promoted the As methylation and volatilization,and the promotion percentage under non-fooded conditions were significantly higher than that under fooded conditions. The combined GE P. putida and RS showed the highest efficiency in As methylation(88 μg/L) and volatilization(415.4 μg/(kg·year)) in the non-fooded soil with moderate As contamination. Finally, stepwise multiple linear regression analysis presented that methylated As, DOC and p H in porewater were the most important factors contributing to As volatilization. Overall, our findings suggest that combination of bioaugmentation with GE P. putida and biostimulation with RS/BC+RS is a potential strategy for bioremediation of arsenic-contaminated soils by enhancing As methylation and volatilization under non-fooded conditions.

In this study,the gas-solid flow process in the blast furnace raceway is numerically simulated using coupled computational fluid dynamics and the discrete element method(CFD-DEM).The coke reaction kinetics data are imported into the DEM model to reproduce the consumption process of each coke particle.The effects of inlet gas velocity and angle on the morphology of the raceway,coke consumption rate,coke bed temperature,and particle size distribution in the blast process are systematically investigated and analyzed.The results show that the consumption of coke particles promotes the formation of raceways during the blast process.At the same time,a coke mixture layer is produced at the edge of the raceway.The higher the inlet gas velocity,the thicker the coke mixture layer in the middle and upper parts of the raceway region,and the larger the proportion of small particles in the coke mixture layer.The effect of the inlet gas angle on the raceway region is less than the inlet gas velocity.However,with the increase in the inlet gas angle,the high-temperature region of the coke bed extends downward gradually,which is conducive to activating the hearth.

Historical forest fire risk databases are vital for evaluating the effectiveness of past forest management approaches,enhancing forest fire warnings and emergency response capabilities,and accurately budgeting potential carbon emissions resulting from fires.However,due to the unavailability of spatial information technology,such databases are extremely difficult to build reliably and completely in the non-satellite era.This study presented an improved forest fire risk reconstruction framework that integrates a deep learning-based time series prediction model and spatial interpolation to address the challenge in Sichuan Province,southwestern China.First,the forest fire danger index(FFDI)was improved by supplementing slope and aspect information.We compared the performances of three time series models,namely,the autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA),Prophet and long short-term memory(LSTM)in predicting the modified forest fire danger index(MFFDI).The bestperforming model was used to retrace the MFFDI of individual stations from 1941 to 1970.Following this,the Anusplin spatial interpolation method was used to map the distributions of the MFFDI at five-year intervals,which were then subjected to weighted overlay with the distance-to-river layer to generate forest fire risk maps for reconstructing the forest fire danger database.The results revealed LSTM as the most accurate in fitting and predicting the historical MFFDI,with a fitting determination coefficient(R^2)of 0.709,mean square error(MSE)of0.047,and validation R^2 and MSE of 0.508 and 0.11,respectively.Independent validation of the predicted forest fire risk maps indicated that 5 out of 7 historical forest fire events were located in forest fire-prone areas,which is higher than the results determined from the original FFDI(2 out of 7).This proves the effectiveness of the improved MFFDI and indicates a high level of reliability of the historical forest fire risk reconstruction method proposed in this study.

Text generation is an essential research area in artificial intelligence(AI)technology and natural language processing and provides key technical support for the rapid development of AI-generated content(AIGC).It is based on technologies such as natural language processing,machine learning,and deep learning,which enable learning language rules through training models to automatically generate text that meets grammatical and semantic requirements.In this paper,we sort and systematically summarize the main research progress in text generation and review recent text generation papers,focusing on presenting a detailed understanding of the technical models.In addition,several typical text generation application systems are presented.Finally,we address some challenges and future directions in AI text generation.We conclude that improving the quality,quantity,interactivity,and adaptability of generated text can help fundamentally advance AI text generation development.
