On the Global Convergence of a Projective Trust Region Algorithm for Nonlinear Equality Constrained Optimization

A trust-region sequential quadratic programming （SQP） method is developed and analyzed for the solution of smooth equality constrained optimization problems. The trust-region SQP algorithm is based on filter line search technique and a composite-step approach, which decomposes the overall step as sum of a vertical step and a horizontal step. The algorithm includes critical modifications of horizontal step computation. One orthogonal projective matrix of the Jacobian of constraint functions is employed in trust-region subproblems. The orthogonal projection gives the null space of the trans- position of the Jacobian of the constraint function. Theoretical analysis shows that the new algorithm retains the global convergence to the first-order critical points under rather general conditions. The preliminary numerical results are reported.

α-secretase and β-secretase are known to compete for amyloid precursor protein （APP） processing and thus play a vital role in Alzheimer＇s disease pathogenesis. A disintegrin and metaUoproteinase 10 （ADAM10） and β-site APP cleaving enzyme 1 （BACE1） mediate the major activities of α-secretase and β-secretase in brain and share various common substrates. However, whether they function separately or together is poorly understood. Here, we show that ADAM10 and BACE1 co-localize in the neurites of mouse primary neurons. Co-immunoprecipitation and fluorescence resonance energy transfer analysis revealed that ADAM10 and BACE1 interact with each other under both endogenous and exogenous conditions. In addition, we found that ADAMIO enhances the proteolysis of neural cell adhesion molecule close homolog of L1 （CHL1） by BACE1. Further studies found that ADAM10-BACE1 interaction interfering peptide LT52 attenuates the regulation of ADAM10 on BACEl-mediated cleavage of CHL1. Our data indicate that ADAM10-BACE1 interaction regulates the proteolysis of some specific substrates and may play a potential role in brain function.

Tyro3,Axl,and Mertk(TAM)receptors play multiple roles in a myriad of physiological and pathological processes,varying from promoting the phagocytic clearance of apoptotic cells,sustaining the immune and inflammatory homeostasis,maintaining the blood-brain barrier(BBB)integrity and central nervous system(CNS)homeostasis,to mediating cancer malignancy and *** arrest-specific protein 6(Gas6)and protein S(Pros1)are the two ligands that activate TAM ***,TAM receptors have been reported to mediate cell entry and infection of multitudinous enveloped viruses in a manner called apoptotic ***,TAM receptors are revitalized during viral entry and infection,which sequesters innate immune and inflammatory responses,facilitating viral replication and immune ***,accumulating evidence have now proposed that TAM receptors are not required for the infection of these viruses in *** addition,TAM receptors protect mice against the CNS infection of neuroinvasive viruses and relieve the brain lesions during *** protective effects are achieved through maintaining BBB integrity,attenuating proinflammatory cytokine production,and promoting neural cell *** receptors also regulate the programmed cell death modes of virus-infected cells,which have profound impacts on the pathogenesis and outcome of ***,we systematically review the functionalities and underlying mechanisms of TAM receptors and propose the potential application of TAM agonists to prevent severe viral encephalitis.

The parameter study of sinter waste heat recovery in vertical tank was conducted numerically by using energy and exergy analysis,and the experimental data obtained from a homemade experimental apparatus was applied to verify the reliability of numerical *** on the first and second laws of thermodynamics,the effects of flow rate of cooling air(FRCA)and inlet temperature of cooling air(ITCA),as well as the inner diameter of cooling section(IDCS)and height of cooling section(HCS),on the sinter cooling process were analyzed in *** results show that the average deviation between the experimental data and calculation values is 4.93%,and the model reliability is *** enthalpy exergy of outlet air tends to increase first and then decrease with increasing the FRCA and ITCA,while increasing the IDCS only leads to the increase in enthalpy exergy of outlet *** a given operational condition,the enthalpy exergy of outlet air can reach a maximum value with increasing the *** vertical tank could obtain the maximum enthalpy exergy of outlet air through the adjustments of FRCA and ITCA,as well as the HCS.

Based on the two-phase wet steam flow with spontaneous condensation, experimental verification and flow analysis on nozzle and 2D cascade are carried out. The 3D Reynolds-Averaged gas-liquid two-phase flow control equation solver is explored with k-e-kp turbulence model. Furthermore, 3D flow numerical simulation on the last stage stator of the steam turbine is carried out. The results show that a sudden pressure rise on blade suction surface is mainly caused by the droplet growth in condensation flow. The more backward the condensation position is in cascade passage, the less the sudden pressure rise from condensation is, and the larger the nucleation rate is, the maximum under-cooling and the number of droplets per unit volume are. Interaction of condensation wave and shock wave has imposed greater influence on the parameters of the blade cascade outlet.

A micro turbo-expander capable of high working speed was specially manufactured for use in an organic Rankine cycle (ORC).A series of tests were executed to examine the performance of the *** the experiment,the machine was tested under different inlet pressure conditions (0.2-0.5 MPa).Data such as the compressed air pressure,temperatures of the inlet and the outlet,rotational speed,and electric power generation were analyzed to discover underlying *** the test,the rotational speed of the machine reached as high as 54 000 r/min,the peak value of the temperature drop between the inlet and the outlet reached 42 ℃,the maximum electric power generated by the motor-generator attached to the machine reached 630 W,and the efficiency of the machine reached 0.43.

Powering a moon base,especially keeping it warm during the long lunar night,is a big *** paper introduces a photovoltaic/thermal(PV/T)system incorporating regolith thermal storage to solve the challenge of power and heat provision for the lunar base *** vacuum of space around the moon helps this system by reducing heat *** the moon's daytime,the system not only generates electricity but also captures *** stored heat in the regolith is then used at night,reducing the amount of equipment we need to send from *** spectrally selective PV/T panels are designed to absorb a wide range of sunlight(0.3–2.5μm)while minimizing heat loss in the infrared range(3–30μm).Simulation results of the hybrid solar energy system indicate the average value of the overall efficiency is 45.9%,which relatively elevates 56.1%compared to the PV *** launch mass of the proposed PV/T system is only 8.4%of a traditional photovoltaic-lithium battery system with the same amount of energy *** the total specific energy of the proposed system is 7.3 kWh kg^(-1),while that of the photovoltaic-lithium battery system is about 0.3 kWh kg^(-1).In summary,this study proposes an alternative combined heat and electricity supply system for the lunar base,which can greatly reduce the launch mass and free up load for other scientific research equipment.

Amorphous silicon photovoltaic/thermal(a-Si-PV/T)technology is promising due to the low power temperature coefficient,thin-film property,thermal annealing effect of the solar cells,and high conversion efficiency in *** design of a-Si-PV/T system is influenced by a number of thermodynamic,structural,and external *** analysis is useful for a good design of the system.A dynamic distributed parameter model is built and verified in this *** tests are carried *** impacts of operating temperature,mass flow rate,cover ratio of solar cells,heat transfer area,and frame shadow ratio on its performance are theoretically and experimentally *** results indicate that seven or eight copper tubes are suitable to achieve a high overall efficiency of the a-Si-PV/T *** frame and tilt angle shall avoid a shadow ratio of more than 8.3%during *** difference between power outputs at operating temperatures of 35℃and55℃in the first month is about 0.21%while it drops to less than 0.1%in the twelfth *** with conventional PVT systems,the a-Si-PV/T system benefits from a higher design temperature with a minor efficiency decrement.
