MTB-951 and JMB-98 are the potential mycoherbicides using Drechslera monoceras(*** monoceras) fungal plant pathogen isolated from diseased annual Echinochloa species in *** of their viability is not very long in water and the control efficacy is influenced by many of environmental and biological factors, ***,water depth,inoculum density,plant leaf stage and growing vigor of the *** investigate the optimum application period to control Echinochloa oryzicola Vasing in rice fields,we conducted field and pot experiments for four years since 1997 at Tohoku National Agricultural Experiment Station located in Omagari city of Akita Prefecture,the cool temperate region of *** weed emerged over a long period due to the low temperature,less than 20%of the weed plants had emerged before 1-leaf stage and 40 or 60%had emerged before 2-leaf stage in the experimental *** control effect was lower when the mycoherbicide was applied at earlier than 1-leaf stage of the weed since more than 80%of the plants emerged and grew after the pathogenicity and the herbicidal activity had *** application at more than 2.5-leaf stage also failed to control the vigorous Echinochloa plants under flooded condition at 8 or 10 cm water *** the highest control effect was obtained when the mycoherbicide was treated at 2-leaf stage of *** plants that was coincident with the peak of the emergence,where the dry weight of the weed reduced by 85 or 95%during one month after the application in heavily infested rice fields of this region.

Degradative solvent extraction of subbituminous coal with deep eutectic solvent and effect of reaction conditions on products

A degradative solvent extraction method for upgrading low-rank coal was performed at 200-350◦C for 90 min to obtain a substance dissolved in the solvent at room temperature(Soluble).Because the resulting mixture exhibited a high carbon content without ash,it could be readily used as a ***,deep eutectic solvents(DESs)have attracted attention for improving the Soluble yield and decreasing the oxygen content in *** is known to cleave oxygen-containing functional groups in biomass and is considered effective for deoxidizing low-rank ***,DES was prepared by mixing choline chloride,FeCl3⋅6h2O,and Adaro subbituminous coal(AD)and then added to 1-methylnaphthalene(1-MN)in a non-polar solvent,followed by degradative solvent extraction in the range of 200-350◦*** effects of reaction temperature and added DES amount on the product yield and the composition were *** the reaction temperature and amount of DES added increased,the Soluble yield and carbon content *** was also found that the thermal decomposition temperature and oxygen content decreased with the increasing DES *** decrease indicates that DES promotes the deoxygenation and decomposition of AD and increases the soluble yield of the fuel source.

Activity Recording of Free-Ranging Tri-spine horseshoe Crabs in the Southeastern Coast of Sabah,Borneo

In Inderasabah(southeast Sabah),tri-spine horseshoe crab Tachypleus tridentatus was observed for their locomotion activity using data loggers from September to November in 2015.A female with acceleration and depth-temperature loggers and five males with acceleration loggers were recaptured between 10 and 49 days after their *** the record of 194 activity days that involve all six ***,four horseshoe crabs,including the female,were active throughout the 24.0 h cycle,whereas the activity of the remaining two males was consistent with the 12.4 h *** the 40-day recording,three horseshoe crabs,including the female,were primarily active around the new moon and full moon,but they were dormant around the first and third quarter moon *** female spent much time in shallow shores(depthhe new moon and full *** result indicated that the female attempted to spawn in a minimum of three spring tide periods while lingering in the ***,after spawning,the female spent time foraging in shallow water(depth 0.3–18 m).As for the two male individuals,their activity was consistent with semi-lunar ***,both of them were in *** addition,a solitary male individual was active only during the first and third quarter moon *** activity recording,all the *** in Inderasabah was active during daytime and *** result was contrary to *** activity cycles in western Japan,where the species was found to be primarily ***,the regional differences in activity cycles for *** were related to their population adaptation toward water temperature,depth,and prey-searching periods.

Saturated hydraulic conductivity of compacted bentonite-sand mixtures before and after gas migration in artificial seawater

To understand the self-healing property of an engineered barrier for radioactive waste disposal,the hydraulic conductivity of compacted bentoniteesand mixtures saturated with artificial seawater(SW)before and after gas migration was ***-and Ca-bentonites were mixed with fine sand at a ratio of 70%bentonite in dry *** aspects were considered during the experiment:the hydraulic conductivity of the specimen that was resaturated after gas migration and the distribution of water content immediately after gas migration to study gas migration *** gas migrated through the entire cross-section of the specimen,and gas breakthrough occurred in the equilibrium swelling pressure range ***,the gas flow rate reached a sufficient large value when the gas pressure was approximately twice the equilibrium axial pressure(the sum of swelling and confining pressures),which excluded the back *** the gas migration pathway was not visible when the specimen was observed immediately after gas migration,the water content distribution showed that several parts of the specimen with lower water content were connected in the direction of gas *** resaturation,the change in permeability was within a limited rangedtwo to three times larger than that before gas migration for each type of bentonite in *** slight change suggests that gas migration creates a pore structure that cannot be sealed via crystalline swelling of montmorillonite in SW,even if highly compacted bentonite is used under a constant-volume condition.

Influence of Production Factors on the Physico-Chemical Characteristics of Fermented Cassava Dough and Sensory Evaluation of Attieke

Attieke is an Ivorian semolina which obtained by fermenting, pressing and steaming cassava dough. Attieke production remains a traditional activity carried out by less literate women. however, perceived differences in measurable factors and attieke qualities require an investigation of their influence on the characteristics of the pressed dough and attieke. The aim of this study is to improve the quality of the dough in relation to that of the attieke produced. The experiment was carried out on 4 production factors, namely the type of boiled or braised ferment, the incorporation rate of the ferment between 8 and 10%, the addition of oil from 0.1 to 1% and the fermentation time from 12 to 15 hours applied to the Improved African Cassava (IAC) variety. A complete experiment design of 16 samples of fermented dough and attieke was employed. These samples underwent physic-chemical analyses for the fermented dough and sensory evaluation for the attieke. It was found that, except for titratable acidity, reducing sugar content and ash content, the physico-chemical characteristics of the dough of IAC variety were significantly influenced by all production factors and their interaction. Fermentation time significantly influences 60% of the physico-chemical characteristics of the fermented dough. The type of ferment, the oil addition and the ferment rate have a significant influence at 40% of these characteristics. At the sensory level, color, acidity and grain binding with an explained variance of 34.60% were essential for the appreciation of the attieke samples. Thus, these production factors could be considered for the improvement of the fermented dough and attieke production process.

The need for renewable energy sources has challenged most countries to comply with environmental protection actions and to handle climate *** energy figures as a natural option,despite its *** has a green energy matrix with significant expansion of solar form in recent *** preserve the Amazon basin,the use of solar energy can help communities and cities improve their living standards without new hydroelectric units or even to burn biomass,avoiding harsh environmental *** novelty of this work is using data science with machine-learning tools to predict the solar incidence(W.h/m^(2))in four cities in Amazonas state(north-west Brazil),using data from NASA satellites within the period of ***-tree-based models and vector autoregressive(time-series)models were used with three time aggregations:day,week and *** predictor model can aid in the economic assessment of solar energy in the Amazon basin and the use of satellite data was encouraged by the lack of data from ground *** mean absolute error was selected as the output indicator,with the lowest values obtained close to 0.20,from the adaptive boosting and light gradient boosting algorithms,in the same order of magnitude of similar references.

The UV irradiation is used for removing Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria(ARB)and Antibiotic Resistance Genes(ARG)from wastewater *** are viruses that infect within bacteria,are recognized for bacterial *** influence of some parameters in quantification and performance influencing of pathogen demobilization could be considered in disinfection of *** comparison of Polyvalent phage(NE1)versus Coliphage(NE4)in suppressing a bacterium Escherichia coli(NDM-1:b-lactam-resistant)with UV irradiation was observed the efficacy in reduction of cells in the disinfection and parameter *** results with the effect of UV-C irradiation on NDM-1 infected with 1%of NE4 showed a decrease of cells from 8×10^(6)to 2×10^(5)in 60 min with UV-C *** NDM1(***)was infected with 1%of NE4(Polyvalent Phage)under magnetic stirring for 1 h,the cells count was 8×10^(6).After 1 h in UV-C e×posure,the cells number reached 3×10^(5).The NDM1 that was e×posed in 1 h of UV-C irradiation and then was infected with 1%of *** counting were done 24 h after this *** cells were e×posed in UV-C and showed a reduction in the number of cells from 1×10^(8)to 4×10^(5)after 60 *** results indicate that bacteriophages can mitigate bacteria species,and combined the conventional water disinfection technologies that can support the microbial safety control strategies.
