For a strongly connected digraph D the minimum ,cardinality of an arc-cut over all arc-cuts restricted arc-connectivity λ′（D） is defined as the S satisfying that D - S has a non-trivial strong component D1 such that D - v（D1） contains an arc. Let S be a subset of vertices of D. We denote by w＋（S） the set of arcs uv with u ∈ S and v S, and by w-（S） the set of arcs uv with u S and v ∈ S. A digraph D = （v, A） is said to be λ′-optimal if λ′（D） =ξ′（D）, where ξ′（D） is the minimum arc-degree of D defined as ξ（D） = min {ξ′（xy）： xy ∈ A}, and ξ′（xy） = min（｜ω＋（{x,y}）｜, ｜w-（{x,y}）｜, ｜w＋（x） ∪ w- （y）｜, ｜w- （x） ∪ω＋（y）｜}. In this paper a sufficient condition for a s-geodetic strongly connected digraph D to be λ′-optimal is given in terms of its diameter. Furthermore we see that the h-iterated line digraph Lh（D） of a s-geodetic digraph is λ′-optimal for certain iteration h.

How does high-intensity intermittent training affect recreational endurance runners? Acute and chronic adaptations: A systematic review

Objective: This systematic review aimed to critically analyze the literature to determine how high-intensity intermittent training(HIIT) affects recreational endurance runners in the short-and ***: Electronic databases were searched for literature dating from January 2000 to October 2015. The search was conducted using the key words "high-intensity intermittent training" or "high-intensity interval exercise" or "interval running" or "sprint interval training" and "endurance runners" or "long distance runners". A systematic approach was used to evaluate the 783 articles identified for initial review. Studies were included if they investigated HIIT in recreational endurance runners. The methodological quality of the studies was evaluated using the Physiotherapy Evidence Database(pedro) scale(for intervention studies) and the modified Downs and Black Quality Index(for cross-sectional studies).Results: Twenty-three studies met the inclusionary criteria for review. The results are presented in 2 parts: cross-sectional(n = 15) and intervention studies(n = 8). In the 15 cross-sectional studies selected, endurance runners performed at least 1 HIIT protocol, and the acute impact on physiological, neuromuscular, metabolic and/or biomechanical variables was assessed. Intervention studies lasted a minimum of 4 weeks, with 10 weeks being the longest intervention period, and included 2 to 4 HIIT sessions per week. Most of these studies combined HIIT sessions with continuous run(CR) sessions; 2 studies' subjects performed HIIT ***: HIIT-based running plans(2 to 3 HIIT sessions per week, combining HIIT and CR runs) show athletic performance improvements in endurance runners by improving maximal oxygen uptake and running economy along with muscular and metabolic adaptations. To maximize the adaptations to training, both HIIT and CR must be part of training programs for endurance runners.

The rational design of emulsions requires study of the main factors that influence their formation, physicochemical properties and, consequently, stability and performance. The use of vegetable oils in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries has recently become attractive. Dipteryx alata vogel(D. alata) is an oleaginous species native to Brazil. The seeds of this species contain highly unsaturated oil with significant amounts of tocopherols and phytosterols, representing an important source of agents capable of combatting oxidative processes. In this work, a lamellar gel phase emulsion using oil extracted from the seeds of D. alata(baru) was developed. The steps involved in the development of this research were as follows: 1) development of formulations and 2) in vitro assays by simulating the evaporation of the final product after application to the skin and Electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy(EPR) of fatty acid spin labels was used to investigate the profile of interaction of the dispersed systems with stratum corneum(SC) lipids. The results indicate that the developed system shows no signs of instability during the storage period. Moreover, EPR studies indicated that D. alata oil and especially the developed formulation were able to increase SC lipid fluidity and extract a fatty-acid spin label from the lipid domain structures of SC, demonstrating its potential to act as a drug or skin care vehicle.

High-Efficiency DC-DC Converter for Large Input-voltage Fluctuations in Solar Applications

In the solar energy systems the solar irradiance variation is partially engaged, limiting the converter’s transformation rate for a certain input amount and leaving the rest of energy unconverted. In order to utilize at its maximum the energy provided from a Photovoltaic(PvP) system, this manuscript proposed a topology that can cope with marginal input voltage variations from 60v(DC) up to 1050v(DC) for a steady output voltage of 700v(DC). This output voltage value is suitable for any interlink post-regulation architecture. Based on previous observations, this paper presents a wide-input voltage high-efficiency non-isolated single-control topology. Analysis, operating stages, simulations and experimental results for a 3k W prototype are presented.

Spermatogonial stem cells:Current biotechnological advances in reproduction and regenerative medicine

Spermatogonial stem cells(SSCs) are the germ stem cells of the seminiferous epithelium in the testis. Through the process of spermatogenesis, they produce sperm while concomitantly keeping their cellular pool constant through self-renewal. SSC biology offers important applications for animal reproduction and overcoming human disease through regenerative therapies. To this end, several techniques involving SSCs have been developed and will be covered in this article. SSCs convey genetic information to the next generation, a property that can be exploited forgene targeting. Additionally, SSCs can be induced to become embryonic stem cell-like pluripotent cells in vitro. Updates on SSC transplantation techniques with related applications, such as fertility restoration and preservation of endangered species, are also covered on this article. SSC suspensions can be transplanted to the testis of an animal and this has given the basis for SSC functional assays. This procedure has proven technically demanding in large animals and men. In parallel, testis tissue xenografting, another transplantation technique, was developed and resulted in sperm production in testis explants grafted into ectopical locations in foreign species. Since SSC culture holds a pivotal role in SSC biotechnologies, current advances are overviewed. Finally, spermatogenesis in vitro, already demonstrated in mice, offers great promises to cope with reproductive issues in the farm animal industry and human clinical applications.

Effects of 12 weeks of barefoot running on foot strike patterns,inversion-eversion and foot rotation in long-distance runners
