Meteorological drought has been an inevitable natural disaster throughout Mexican history and the northern and northwestern parts of Mexico（i.e., the studied area）, where the mean annual precipitation（MAP） is less than 500 mm, have suffered even more from droughts in the past. The aim of this study was to conduct a meteorological drought analysis of the available MAP data（1950–2013） from 649 meteorological stations selected from the studied area and to predict the drought features under the different IPCC-prescribed climate change scenarios. To determine the long-term drought features, we collected 1×10~4 synthetic samples using the periodic autoregressive moving average（PARMA） model for each rainfall series. The simulations first consider the present prevailing precipitation conditions（i.e., the average from 1950 to 2013） and then the precipitation anomalies under IPCC-prescribed RCP 4.5 scenario and RCP 8.5 scenario. The results indicated that the climate changes under the prescribed scenarios would significantly increase the duration and intensity of droughts. The most severe impacts may occur in the central plateau and in the Baja California Peninsula. Thus, it will be necessary to establish adequate protective measures for the sustainable management of water resources in these regions.

In the solar energy systems the solar irradiance variation is partially engaged, limiting the converter’s transformation rate for a certain input amount and leaving the rest of energy unconverted. In order to utilize at its maximum the energy provided from a Photovoltaic(PVP) system, this manuscript proposed a topology that can cope with marginal input voltage variations from 60V(DC) up to 1050V(DC) for a steady output voltage of 700V(DC). This output voltage value is suitable for any interlink post-regulation architecture. Based on previous observations, this paper presents a wide-input voltage high-efficiency non-isolated single-control topology. Analysis, operating stages, simulations and experimental results for a 3k W prototype are presented.

For a bipartite graph G on m and n vertices, respectively, in its vertices classes, and for integers s andt such that 2≤ s ≤ t, 0≤ m-s ≤ n-t, andre＋n≤ 2s＋t-1, we prove that if G has at least mn- （2（m - s）＋ n - t） edges then it contains a subdivision of the complete bipartite K（s,t） with s vertices in the m-class and t vertices in the n-class. Furthermore, we characterize the corresponding extremal bipartite graphs with mn- （2（m - s）＋ n - t ＋ 1） edges for this topological Turan type problem.

In recent decades, data-driven landslide susceptibility models(Dd LSM), which are based on statistical or machine learning approaches, have become popular to estimate the relative spatial probability of landslide occurrence. The available literature is composed of a wealth of published studies and that has identified a large variety of challenges and innovations in this field. This review presents a comprehensive up-to-date overview focusing on the topic of Dd LSM. This research begins with an introduction of the theoretical aspects of Dd LSM research and is followed by an in-depth bibliometric analysis of 2585 publications. This analysis is based on the Web of Science, Clarivate Analytics database and provides insights into the transient characteristics and research trends within published spatial landslide assessments. Following the bibliometric analysis, a more detailed review of the most recent publications from 1985 to 2020 is given. A variety of different criteria are explored in detail, including research design, study area extent,inventory characteristics, classification algorithms, predictors utilized, and validation technique performed. This section, dealing with a quantitativeoriented review expands the time-frame of the review publication done by Reichenbach et al. in 2018 by also accounting for the four years, 2017-2020. The originality of this research is acknowledged by combining together:(a) a recap of important theoretical aspects of Dd LSM;(b) a bibliometric analysis on the topic;(c) a quantitative-oriented review of relevant publications;and(d) a systematic summary of the findings, indicating important aspects and potential developments related to the Dd LSM research topic. The results show that Dd LSM are used within a wide range of applications with study area extents ranging from a few kilometers to national and even continental scales. In more than 70% of publications, a combination of the predictors, slope angle, aspect and geology are used.

Objectives Increased lipoprotein （a） serum concentration seems to be a cardiovascular risk factor; this has not been confirmed in extracoronary atherosclerosis complications. We therefore wished to gain a deeper insight into relationship between the plasma concentrations of lipoprotein （a） and the micro- and macro-vascular complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus and to identify possible differences in this association. Methods This is a descriptive observational cross-sectional study. Two-hundred and seventeen elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were included from the internal medicine outclinic. Anthropometric data, analytical data （insulin reserve, basal and postprandial peptide C, glycosylated hemoglobin, renal parameters, lipid profile and clinical data as hypertension, obesity, micro and macrovascular complications were collected. Results Patients were grouped according to the type 2 diabetes mellitus time of evolution. The mean plasma concentration of lipoprotein （a） was 22.2± 17.3 mg/dL （22.1± 15.9 mg/dL for males, and 22.1 ± 18.4 mg/dL for females）. Patients with hypertension, coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular accident, microalbuminuria and proteinuria presented a statistically significant increased level of lipoprotein （a）. Similarly, the patients with hyperlipoprotein （a）（≥30 mg/dL） presented significantly increased levels of urea and total cholesterol. In the multivariate regression model, the level of lipoprotein （a） is positively correlated with coronary heart disease and diabetic nephropathy （P 〈 0.01 and P 〈 0.005, respectively）. Conclusions The elevation of plasma levels of lipoprotein （a） are associ- ated with the development of coronary heart disease and diabe tic nephropathy. Therefore, we consider that the determination of lipoprotein （a） may be a prognostic marker of vascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Farm-scale evaluation of the impact of CrylAb Bt maize on canopy nontarget arthropods： a 3-year study

The cultivation of CrylAb-expressing genetically modified MON810 （Bt maize） has led to public concern in Europe, regarding its impact on nontarget arthro- pods （NTAs）. We have assessed the potential effects of DKC 6451 YG （MON810） maize on canopy NTAs in a farm-scale study performed in Central Spain during 3 years. The study focused on hemipteran herbivores （leafhoppers and planthoppers） and hymenopteran parasitic wasps （mymarids） collected by yellow sticky traps, which accounted for 72% of the total number of insects studied. The dynamics and abundance of these groups varied among years, but no significant differences were found between Bt and non-Bt maize, indicating that Bt maize had no negative effect on these taxa. Nonetheless, the CrylAb toxin was detected in 2 different arthropods collected from Bt maize foliage, the cicadellids Zyginidia scutellaris and Empoasca spp. A retrospective power analysis on the arthropod abundance data for our field trials has determined that Z. scutellaris and the family My- maridae have high capacity to detect differences between the Bt maize and its isogenic counterpart. The use of these canopy NTAs as surrogates for assessing environmental impacts of Bt maize is discussed.
