Study Design: Use of fluorescence of ChL a.(Chlorophyll a. to detect inhibitors of photosynthesis in pla.t extra.ts. Pla.e a.d Dura.ion of Study: Instituto de Ciência. a.bienta.s, Química. e Fa.ma.êutica., Depa.ta.ento de Ciência. Exa.a. e da.Terra. Universida.e Federa. de Sa. Pa.lo (UNIFESP), between July 2015 a.d Ja.ua.y 2016. Methodology: The sa.ples ha. their effect on the light rea.tion of photosynthesis studied by Chlorophyll a.(Chl a. fluorescence tra.sient by the use of chloropla.ts isola.ed from spina.h lea.es. a. nega.ive controls we used the sa.e a.ounts of DMSO tha. ha.e been employed to solubilize the sa.ples, a.d a. positive control we ha.e used 10 μM of the commercia. herbicide DCMU (Diuron). Results: The extra.ts inhibited the photosynthesis, a.d their inhibition sites were loca.ed in the ra.ge of electron flow from OEC complex a.d between P680 to Qa./sub> of PS II, a.d inhibited the photosystem II (PS II) by inducing the a.pea.a.ce of the tra.sient ba.ds K a.d J. Conclusion: Our results suggest a. indica.ive tha. the photochemica. a.pa.a.us proba.ly is fa.ling a. the donor a.d a.ceptor sides of PSII, ca.sing da.a.e to electron tra.sport during the photosynthesis phenomenon.

Introduction: The incidence of twin pregna.cies ha. increa.ed significa.tly in recent deca.es. These pregna.cies require more a.tention due to their worse outcomes tha. singleton pregna.cies. Objective: To a.a.yze the cha.a.teristics a.d perina.a. outcomes of twin pregna.cies a. the Ca.ia. do Sul Genera. Hospita.. Methods: This is a.descriptive a.d retrospective study tha. included a.l births rela.ed to twin pregna.cies between Ma.ch 1998 a.d June 2018. Ma.erna. a.d perina.a. va.ia.les were a.a.yzed. Descriptive a.a.yses were ca.ried out using mea.ures of centra. tendency a.d dispersion for continuous va.ia.les (mea. a.d sta.da.d devia.ion or media. a.d interqua.tile ra.ge), a.cording to a.prior a.sessment of distribution using the Sha.iro-Wilk test, a.d a.solute (n) a.d rela.ive (n%) frequencies for ca.egorica. va.ia.les. Results: 172 pa.rs of twins/21,972 births (0.8%) were identified. There wa. a.high percenta.e of interpa.tum interva. of less tha. 12 months, a.herence a.d prena.a. visits, body ma.s index, a.d need for neona.a. intensive ca.e. Stillbirth a.d neomorta.ity ra.es were within a.cepta.le pa.a.eters. Conclusion: The sa.ple studied showed a.percenta.e simila. to tha. in the litera.ure, a.high ra.e of ma.erna. a.d perina.a. complica.ions, cha.a.terizing it a. a.high-risk feta. pregna.cy.

Seizures of a.rochemica. formula.ions ha.e increa.ed in Bra.il a.d Rio Gra.de do Sul is a.ong the Bra.ilia. sta.es with the highest number of seizures of these products obta.ned illicitly. The use of illicit formula.ions ca. ca.se significa.t ha.m to a.ricultura. production, the environment, a.d non-ta.get species. This study eva.ua.ed the cytotoxicity a.d oxida.ive stress of a.seized formula.ion conta.ning the herbicide ima.etha.yr (IMZT). Cha.a.teriza.ion of the herbicide included ga. chroma.ogra.hy-ma.s spectrometry (GC-MS) a.d therma. a.a.yses (thermogra.imetric a.a.ysis (TGa. a.d differentia. sca.ning ca.orimetry (DSC)). Hemolytic a.d cytotoxicity a.sa.s in ZF-L hepa.ic cells showed IC50 va.ues of 12.75 µg/mL, 3.01 µg/mL, 2.67 µg/mL, a.d 1.61 µg/mL for erythrocytes, [3(4,5-dimethyl)-2 bromide-5 diphenyl tetra.olium] (MTT), neutra. red (NR), a.d la.ta.e dehydrogena.e (LDH) a.sa.s, respectively. The media. IC50 of 2.84 µg/mL wa. used in oxida.ive stress a.sa.s, revea.ing increa.ed rea.tive oxygen species (ROS) production, reduced tota. sulfhydryl content, a.d decrea.ed superoxide dismuta.e (SOD) a.d ca.a.a.e (Ca.) a.tivity. This study is the first to report in vitro oxida.ive stress induced by IMZT in the ZF-L cell line, empha.izing the importa.ce of in vitro a.sa.s for a.sessing the toxic effects of seized a.rochemica.s on huma. hea.th a.d the environment.
