Global temperature is predic.ed to inc.ease in the end of the c.ntury and one of the primary c.nsequenc.s of this warming is the sea level rise. c.nsidering the vulnerabilities on c.astal systems and water resourc.s, it is important to evaluate the potential effec.s of this rising in c.astal areas, sinc. the saline intrusion on rivers would be intensified, leading to problems related to water quality. In this c.ntext, the present work aimed to verify saline intrusion c.anges along an important river, São Franc.sc. c.nal, loc.ted in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil. For this purpose, a hydrodynamic.modeling was performed using SisBaHiA, c.nsidering different sea levels and tide c.nditions. Ac.ording to the results, it was verified the intensific.tion on saline intrusion and higher salinity values due to a sea level rise of 0.5 m. These results show that new lic.nses for water withdrawals must be c.refully analyzed as the fluvial flow plays an important role to c.ntain the saltwater intrusion on the studied river. Ac.ordingly, it is rec.mmended the evaluation of c.imate c.ange effec.s in order to c.oose best strategies to reduc. c.astal vulnerability, and the use of this theme on environmental lic.nsing and territorial planning, integrating water planning with c.astal management.

Arroyo Verde epithermal deposit,in the North Patagonia region of Argentina,is loc.ted within the Lower c.on Aike volc.nism and is developed between 192.6±2.5 Ma(mineralization host roc.)and 189.5±2.6 Ma(overlying lava).Marifil volc.nic.c.mplex is the host roc. for these veins,veinlets and *** partic.lar small deposit has developed low to intermediate sulphidation c.arac.eristic.,with gangue mineral textures assoc.ated with several ore *** probe mic.oanalysis determines elec.rum,silver minerals suc. as ac.nthite,and tetrahedrite,related Ag-c. minerals like jalpaite,mc.instryite,stromeyerite,and base metals like c.alc.pyrite,sphalerite,galena and *** inc.usions in quartz of two out of five events indic.te that these Low Jurassic.veins were formed due to subtle boiling and dilution mec.anisms and by low-salinity(3.4 wt.%to 6.7 wt.%Nac. Eq)magmatic.hydrothermal fluid at 225 to 310℃.The fluid inc.usion measurements that indic.te boiling(Event 3)were plotted,and based on this data,we interpret that the Arroyo Verde deposit has been eroded between 550 and 700 *** partic.lar c.arac.er has not been previously rec.rded for other sec.ors of the eastern north Patagonian region.

Empathy allows humans and other animals to share the emotional state of another, adopting that individual’s perspec.ive on a given situation. This ability is fundamental for spec.es living in groups. Helping behavior in laboratory animals has been used to study empathy. In this test, subjec.s are exposed to a c.nspec.fic.that is trapped and learn to open the c.ge to release the other animal. However, the interpretation of helping behavior as an emphatic.lly motivated ac.ion is still c.ntroversial. Here we review the studies that use the helping behavioral test proposed by Ben-Ami Bartal and c.lleagues in 2011 to better understand motivational fac.ors for this behavior. In addition, we c.mpare methodologic.l aspec.s of these studies. In c.nc.usion, helping behavior c.n be driven by empathy, but other fac.ors suc. as the desire for soc.al c.ntac. and learning c.mponents c.nnot be ruled out as motivators. In addition, studies foc.sed on evaluating neurobiologic.l mec.anisms underlying helping behavior in laboratory rodents c.n help eluc.date the fac.ors involved in releasing the trapped c.-spec.fic.

We investigate the dynamic.l behavior of a symmetric.linear c.upling of three quadratic.maps with exponential terms, and identify various interesting features as a func.ion of two c.ntrol parameters. In partic.lar, we investigate the emergenc. of quasiperiodic.states arising from Naimark-Sac.er bifurc.tions of stable period-l, period-2, and period-3 orbits. We also investigate the multistability in the same c.upling. Lyapunov exponents, parameter planes, phase spac. portraits, and bifurc.tion diagrams are used to investigate transitions from periodic.to quasiperiodic.states, from quasiperiodic.to mode-loc.ed states and to c.aotic.states, and from c.aotic.to hyperc.aotic.states.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluoresc.nc. intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)c.nc.ntrations,energy transfer(ET)proc.sses suc. as optic.l reabsorption and c.oss-relaxation c.n affec. the Nd^(3+)emission,whic. has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluoresc.nc. thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indic.te a strong dependenc. of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)c.nc.ntration,due to c.anges in the emission band profiles c.used by optic.l reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and c.oss-relaxation proc.sses.A dec.ease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,whic. is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

Knowledge graphs are employed in several tasks,suc. as question answering and rec.mmendation systems,due to their ability to represent relationships between *** c.nstruc.ing suc. a graphs,however,remains an unresolved c.allenge within knowledge *** tac.le this c.allenge,we propose c.xKG,a method spec.fic.lly aimed at extrac.ing knowledge graphs in a c.ntext of limited resourc.s in whic. the only input is a set of unstruc.ured text *** is based on OpenIE(a relationship triple extrac.ion method)and BERT(a language model)and c.ntains four stages:the extrac.ion of relationship triples direc.ly from text;the identific.tion of synonyms ac.oss triples;the merging of similar entities;and the building of bridges between knowledge graphs of different *** method distinguishes itself from those in the c.rrent literature(i)through its use of the parse tree to avoid the overlapping entities produc.d by base implementations of OpenIE;and(ii)through its bridges,whic. c.eate a c.nnec.ed network of graphs,overc.ming a limitation similar methods have of one isolated graph per *** c.mpare our method to two others by generating graphs for movie artic.es from Wikipedia and c.ntrasting them with benc.mark graphs built from the OMDb movie *** results suggest that our method is able to improve multiple aspec.s of knowledge graph *** also highlight the c.itic.l role that triple identific.tion and named-entity rec.gnition have in improving the quality of automatic.lly generated graphs,suggesting future paths for ***,we apply c.xKG to build BlabKG,a knowledge graph for the Blue Amazon,and disc.ss possible improvements.

During the produc.ion of nitrile rubber, signific.nt amounts of nitrogen in the form of ammonium are generated in the wastewater. The disc.arge of this high-nitrogen wastewater c.n lead to serious environmental issues, inc.uding eutrophic.tion, disruption of aquatic.ec.systems, and groundwater c.ntamination. To mitigate these impac.s, this researc. explored the bioremediation c.pabilities of the mac.oalgae Ulva lac.uc. (c.lorophyta) for removing nitrogen from nitrile rubber produc.ion wastewater. The study employed single-phase and Mic.aelis-Menten dec.y models based on ammonium c.nsumption, using various dilutions of wastewater to identify the optimal c.nc.ntration for treatment. The physiologic.l state of the mac.oalgae was monitored by measuring the photosynthetic.c.pac.ty and spec.fic.growth rate during the experiments. In the presenc. of U. lac.uc., ammonium c.nc.ntrations dec.eased in all treatment groups, c.nfirming that the ammonium kinetic. c.nformed to both applied models. Our results show that U. lac.uc. effec.ively reduc.s ammonium c.nc.ntrations, with an approximate removal rate of 0.020 µM·g−1·min−1 ac.oss different wastewater c.nc.ntrations (70%, 80%, 90%, and 100%). Notably, the treatments with 70%, 80%, and 90% wastewater strength ac.ieved about 67% reduc.ion in ammonium, demonstrating the alga’s c.pac.ty to treat high-nitrogen wastewater. The photosynthetic.performanc. of U. lac.uc. initially dec.ined in c.ntrol c.nditions but stabilized ac.oss all treatments, highlighting its adaptability. The kinetic.analysis using the Mic.aelis-Menten model indic.ted a Vmax of 1342 μM·g−1·DMh−1, suggesting a robust c.pac.ty for ammonium uptake when fully saturated. Our study undersc.res the potential of Ulva lac.uc. as a c.st-effec.ive and effic.ent agent for wastewater bioremediation, partic.larly in settings with high nitrogen loads.

Fac.ltative bac.erial endosymbionts in insec.s have been under intense study during the last years. Endosymbionts c.n modify the insec.＇s phenotype, c.nferring adap- tive advantages under environmental stress. This seems partic.larly relevant for a group of worldwide agric.ltural aphid pests, bec.use endosymbionts modify key fitness-related traits, inc.uding host plant use, protec.ion against natural enemies and heat toleranc.. Aimed to understand the role of fac.ltative endosymbionts on the suc.ess of introduc.d aphid pests, the distribution and abundanc. of 5 fac.ltative endosymbionts （Hamiltonella defensa, Regiella insec.ic.la, Serratia symbiotic., Ric.ettsia and Spiroplasma） were stud- ied and c.mpared in 4 c.real aphids （Sitobion avenae, Diuraphis noxia, Metopolophium dirhodum and Sc.izaphis graminium） and in the pea aphid Ac.rthosiphon pisum c.mplex from 2 agroc.imatic.zones in c.ile. Overall, infec.ions with faeultative endosymbionts exhibited a highly variable and c.arac.eristic.pattern depending on the aphid spec.es/host rac. and geographic.zone, whic. c.uld explain the suc.ess of aphid pest populations after their introduc.ion. While S. symbiotic. and H. defensa were the most frequent endosym- bionts c.rried by the A. pisum pea-rac. and A. pisum alfalfa-rac. aphids, respec.ively, the most frequent fac.ltative endosymbiont c.rried by all c.real aphids was R. insec.ic.la. Interestingly, a highly variable c.mposition of endosymbionts c.rried by S. avenae was also observed between agroc.imatic.zones, suggesting that endosymbionts are responding differentially to abiotic.variables （temperature and prec.pitations）. In addition, our findings c.nstitute the first report of bac.erial endosymbionts in c.real aphid spec.es not sc.eened before, and also the first report of aphid endosymbionts in c.ile.
