BACKGRoUND Solid pseudopapillary neoplasms(SPN)of the pancreas represents approximately 2%of non-endocrine tumors of the *** is described in the literature as a rare and predominant tumor in young *** To report a case series with SPN and analyzing clinical,surgical,anatomopathological characteristics,as well as the prognosis and review of *** Retrospective analysis of patients undergoing surgery,with histological diagnosis of SPN between 1998 and 2018,using standardized and prospectively completed forms,performed at the Surgery Service of the Upper Digestive System at Hospital São Rafael/Rede D’or in *** of literature through a database search in MEDLINE/PubMed of retrospective *** Fourteen female patients with the average age of 31.6 years(range min-max)were *** patients(85.7%)were asymptomatic,being an incidental diagnosis or due to screening for other *** patient had abdominal pain due to gastric compression and another patient had *** 14 patients were staged with computerized tomography or magnetic resonance *** had evidence of *** 8 patients(57.1%),the tumor was in the tail and *** average size was 6.7 cm(range min-18).The type of surgery was according to the anatomical location of the *** was no lymph node *** two cases,vascular resection with the use of a prosthesis was required for *** surgical margins were *** all cases,postoperative immunohistochemistry confirmed that it was a solid pseudo-papillary neoplasia of the *** has been no disease recurrence in any case so *** The tumors had a benign,indolent and histopathological behavior compatible with the *** surgery is recommended in all cases.

The disposal of mining tailings has increasingly focused on the use of dry *** structures offer more security since they use filtered and compacted *** of the construction method and the heights achieved,the material that compounds the structure can be subjected to different stress paths along the failure *** theoretical framework considered in the design of these structures generally is the critical state soil mechanics(CSSM).However,the data in the literature concerning the uniqueness of critical state line(CSL)is still controversial as the soil is subjected to different stress *** respect to tailings,this question is even more *** paper studies two tailings with different gradings due to the beneficial processes over extension and compression paths.A series of drained and undrained triaxial tests was conducted over a range of initial densities and stress *** the q-p'plane,different critical stress ratio(M)values were obtained for compression and extension stress ***,the critical state friction angle is very similar with a slightly higher critical state friction angle for extension *** stress path dependent CSLs were obtained in the n-lnp0 plane with the extension tests below the CSL defined in *** the fines content,the studied tailings presented very similar M and critical state friction angle ***,the fines content af-fects the volumetric behavior of the studied tailings and the CSLs on the n-lnp0 plane shift downwards with the increasing fines content for compression and extension *** relation to dilatancy analysis,the fines content did not present an evident influence on the dilatancy of the ***,different values of mean stress ratio N were obtained between compression and extension tests and can corroborate the existence of non-unique CSLs for these materials.

This research aimed to analyze the possibility to estimate and automatically map large areas of soybean cultivation through the use of MoDIS(Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer)*** major techniques were used:GEographic-object-Based Image Analysis(GEoBIA)and Data Mining(DM).In order to obtain the images,the segmentation algorithm implemented by Definiens Developer was used.A decision tree(DT)was created from a training set previously ***-series of images from the MoDIS sensor aboard the Terra satellite were acquired in order to represent the wide variation of the vegetation pattern along the soybean crop *** time-series data were used only for the CEI ***,to compare the results obtained from GEoBIA,the slicing technique was used at the CEI *** the training,the DT was applied to the vegetation indices generating the thematic map of the spatial distribution of *** accordance with the error matrix and kappa parameter analysis,tests for statistical significance were *** indicate that the classification achieved by Kappa coefficients is *** short,the obtained results proved that combining vegetation indices and time-series data using GEoBIA return promising results for mapping soybean plantation on a regional scale.

Reproductive ecology of the seabob shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri(Heller,1862)in a coastal area of Southern Brazil

The predictability of certain environmental factors that affect the life cycle of the seabob shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri(Heller,1862) was evaluated in a study of its reproductive biology in an area adjacent to Babitonga Bay,State of Santa Catarina,Brazil. Monthly sampling was conducted from July 2010 through June 2011 at depths of 5,8,11,14,and 17 m.76 004 individuals were obtained,with a pronounced peak in absolute abundance in austral autumn(34 208),coinciding with the annual closed season from March to May. Grain size composition of the sediment showed the closest relationship to the distribution of individuals(multiple linear regression,P o their burying habit. The observed correlations between the abundance of reproductive males(bearing spermatophores) and females with spent gonads(cross-correlation,P oductive males and reproductive females(with a 1-month lag) suggest that the peak of reproductive males preceded the peak offemale ones. This result agrees with the pattern expected for females,which copulate in post-ecdysis(spent gonads). Spawning seemed to take place at greater depths,as evidenced by the concentration of reproductive females in these areas. The reproductive activities observed here confirm that this species follows a tropical/subtropical reproductive pattern,spawning continuously throughout the year,with the highest peaks in spring and autumn. The data indicate that the juvenile recruitment period observed in August-September resulted from the reproductive output noted in April–May. Additionally,the reproductive period recorded in November led to the juvenile peak observed in March–May.

The operation of complex systems can drift away from the initial design conditions,due to environmental condi-tions,equipment wear or specific *** generators are complex equipment and their proper opera-tion relies on the identification of their most relevant *** approach to rank the operational parameters of a subcritical steam generator of an actual 360 MW power plant is *** Artificial Neural Network-ANN delivers a model to estimate the steam generator efficiency,electric power generation and flue gas outlet temperature as a function of seven input *** ANN is trained with a two-year long database,with training errors of 0.2015 and 0.2741(mean absolute and square error)and validation errors of 0.32%and 2.350(mean percent and square error).That ANN model is explored by means of a combination of situations proposed by a Design of Experiment-doE *** seven controlled parameters showed to be relevant to express both steam generator efficiency and electric power generation,while primary air flow rate and speed of the dynamic classifier can be neglected to calculate flue gas temperature as they are not statistically *** also shows the prominence of the primary air pressure in respect to the steam generator efficiency,electric power generation and the coal mass flow rate for the calculation of the flue gas outlet *** ANN and doE combined methodology shows to be promising to enhance complex system efficiency and helpful whenever a biased behavior must be brought back to stable operation.

Effects of Physical Activity Levels on Fatigue Perception in Patients with Parkinson’s Disease and Neurologically Healthy Individuals

Background: Recent researches involving fatigue and Parkinson’s disease (PD) sought to verify its incidence and the impacts of fatigue on quality life of patients with PD. Despite the importance of regular physical activity practice, there are only few studies that verified the influence of the levels of physical activity on fatigue in patients with PD. objective: The aim of this study was to compare perception of fatigue between individuals with PD and neurologically healthy individuals (control group), considering the physical activity levels;and to verify the relation between physical activity levels and fatigue dimensions for individuals with PD and control group. Methods: Eighty individuals (40 patients with PD and 40 control individuals) participated in this study. Physical activity levels were evaluated through Modified Baecke Questionnaire for older Adults. Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI) was used in order to evaluate fatigue dimensions (general, physical and mental fatigue, reduced motivation and activity). MANoVA two-way and Pearson linear correlation test were performed to analyze the data. Results: Patients with PD presented higher levels of fatigue, in all dimensions evaluated by MFI, comparing to control individuals. There was no association between physical activity levels and perception of fatigue for patients with PD and control individuals. Conclusion: Patients with PD showed increased perception of fatigue when compared to control individuals, due to PD characteristics. In addition, the perception of fatigue’s symptom was not influenced and had no relation by the level of physical activity.

ProTSA: A Testing Process for Automotive Software domain

This study evaluates the development of a testing process for the automotive software domain, highlighting challenges stemming from the absence of adequate processes. The research demonstrates the application of Design Science Research methodology in developing, an automotive software testing process—ProTSA, using six functional testing modules. Additionally, the study evaluates the benefits of implementing ProTSA in a specific original Equipment Manufacturer (oEM) using an experimental single-case approach with industry professionals’ participation through a survey. The study concludes that combining testing techniques with effective communication and alignment is crucial for enhancing software quality. Furthermore, survey data indicates that implementing ProTSA leads to productivity gains by initiating tests early, resulting in time savings in the testing program and increased productivity for the testing team. Future work will explore implementing ProTSA in cybersecurity, over-the-air software updates, and autonomous vehicle testing processes. .
