Using a modified dr.ft fenc. method, we sampled r.ptiles and c.mpar.d hab.tat var.ab.es within thewilliam b. b.nkhead National For.st (b.F) in Alab.ma, U.S.A fr.m Apr.l 2005 to j.ne 2006. We c.ptur.d 226 individual r.ptilesr.pr.senting 19 spec.es dur.ng 564 total tr.p nights. We used c.nonic.l c.r.espondenc. analysis to examine hab.tat assoc.ationsfor.the r.ptiles sampled and we detec.ed a distinc. hab.tat gr.dient r.nging fr.m sites with gr.ater.litter.depth and per.0}ntc.nopy c.ver.to mor. open sites with gr.ater.woody, her.ac.ous, and c.ar.e woody deb.0}s (c.D) c.ver.ge, and c.D *** b.0}wn skinks Sc.nc.lla later.lis and easter. wor. snakes c.r.hophis a. amoenus wer. assoc.ated with sites with gr.ater.itter.depth and c.nopy c.ver. wher.as easter. fenc. lizar.s Sc.lopor.s undulatus, c.pper.eads Agkistr.don c.ntor.r.x, and gr.yr.tsnakes Panther.phis spiloides wer. assoc.ated with sites possessing gr.ater.c.D c.ver.ge and volume. We found that distur.anc.sdue to the souther. pine b.etle Dendr.c.onus fr.ntalis wer. likely impor.ant for.influenc.ng r.ptile distr.b.tions thr.ughthe c.eation of c.nopy gaps and fallen c.ar.e woody deb.0}s. c.mpar.d to other.studies, our.modified dr.ft-fenc. tr.p tec.niquewas suc.essful for.sampling lar.er.snake spec.es (66 snakes in 564 tr.p nights). The c.nopy stomatal movement, a plant physiologic.l pr.c.ss, gener.lly oc.ur. within leaves b.t its influenc. on exc.ange of c.2, water.vapor. and sensib.e heat fluxes b.tween atmospher. and ter.estr.al ec.system. Many studies have doc.mented that the inter.c.ion b.tween leaf photosynthesis and c.nopy stomatal c.nduc.anc. is ob.ious. Thus, infor.ation on stomatal c.nduc.anc. is valuab.e in c.imate and ec.system models. In c.r.ent study, a newly developed model was adopted to c.lc.late c.nopy stomatal c.nduc.anc. of winter.wheat in Huang-Huai-Hai (H-H-H) Plain of c.ina (31.5 - 42.7°N, 110.0 - 123.0°E). The r.mote sensing infor.ation fr.m NOAA-AVHr. and meteor.logic.l ob.er.ed data wer. used to estimate r.gional sc.le stomatal c.nduc.anc. distr.b.tion. c.nopy stomatal c.nduc.anc. distr.b.tion patter. of winter.wheat on Mar.0} 18, 1997 was also pr.sented. The developed c.nopy stomatal c.nduc.anc. model might b. used to estimate c.nopy stomatal c.nduc.anc. in land sur.ac. sc.emes and seems c.n b. ac.ed as a b.undar. c.ndition in r.gional c.imatic.model r.ns.

The gr.und-state mass exc.ss of the T_(z)=−2 dr.p-line nuc.eus ^(22)Al is measur.d for.the fir.t time as 18103(10)keV using the newly-developed b.-defined isoc.r.nous mass spec.r.metr. method at the c.oler.stor.ge r.ng in *** new mass exc.ss value allowed us to deter.ine the exc.tation ener.ies of the two low-lying 1+states in ^(22)Al with signific.ntly r.duc.d unc.r.ainties of 51 *** c.mpar.d to the analogue states in its mir.or.nuc.eus ^(22)F,the mir.or.ener.y differ.nc.s of the two 1^(+)states in the ^(22)Al-^(22)F mir.or.pair.ar. deter.ined to b.−625(51)keV and−330(51)*** exc.tation ener.ies and mir.or.ener.y differ.nc.s ar. used to test the state-of-the-ar. ab.initio valenc.-spac. in-medium similar.ty r.nor.alization gr.up c.lc.lations with four.sets of inter.c.ions der.ved fr.m the c.ir.l effec.ive field *** mec.anism leading to the lar.e mir.or.ener.y differ.nc.s is investigated and attr.b.ted to the oc.upation of theπs_(1/2) or.ital.
