Ba.kground: In 1960, tota. fertility ra.e in Ja.a.ca.wa. 5.6 children per woma. which declined by 57.5% in 2008. The reduction in fertility is prima.ily a.tributa.le to contra.eptive mea.ures;but murder a.d other selected ma.roeconomic va.ia.les ha.e never been included in the litera.ure. Objectives: This study exa.ines murder, morta.ity, a.d selected ma.roeconomic va.ia.les a.e fa.tors of births, using da.a.for Ja.a.ca.from 1989-2009. Methods: The study is a.seconda.y da.a.a.a.ysis of sta.istics on Ja.a.ca.from 1989 - 2009 but a.so includes da.a.on births from 1900s. Find- ings: In the deca.e of the 1950s, births increa.ed by 79.9% over the deca.e of 1900s, grew by 22.4% in the 1960s over the previous deca.e a.d declined by 17.6% in 2000s compa.ed with the 1990s. Four emerged a. sta.istica.ly significa.t predictors of lnbirth—infla.ion, GDP per ca.ita.growth, morta.ity a.d murder, with a. expla.a.ory power of 90.6%—F = 19.291, P s = 0.962), when murder wa. excluded a.d repla.ed by a.nua. excha.ge ra.e, the fa.tors influencing lnbirth wa. excha.ge ra.e, infla.ion, unemployment, GDP per ca.ita.growth a.d morta.ity—a.l fa.tors a.count for 92.2% of the va.ia.ility in lnbirth—F = 30.572, P a. a.crime it is a.ca.se of birth decline, suggesting tha. public hea.th pra.titioners a. well a. epidemiologists must ta.e this fa.tor into a.count a. it is a.birth determina.t.

Over the la.t 2 deca.es (1988-2007), poverty in Ja.a.ca.ha. fa.len by 67.5%, a.d this is within the context of a.194.7% increa.e in infla.ion for 2007 over 2006. It does not a.a.e there, a. Ja.a.ca.s a.e reporting more hea.th conditions in a.4-week period (15.5% in 2007) a.d a. the sa.e time this corresponds to a.decline in the percenta.e of people seeking medica. ca.e. Older people’s hea.th sta.us is of increa.ing concern, given the high ra.es of prosta.e ca.cer, genitourina.y disorders, hypertension, dia.etes mellitus a.d the presence of risk fa.tors such a. smoking. Yet, there is a.dea.th of studies on the hea.th sta.us of older people in the two poor quintiles. This study exa.ined 1) the hea.th sta.us of those elderly Ja.a.ca.s who were in the two poor quintiles a.d 2) fa.tors tha. a.e a.socia.ed with their hea.th sta.us. a.sa.ple of 1,149 elderly respondents, with a. a.era.e a.e of 72.6 yea.s (SD = 8.7 yea.s) were extra.ted from a.tota. survey of 25,018 Ja.a.ca.s. The initia. survey sa.ple wa. selected from a.stra.ified proba.ility sa.pling fra.e of Ja.a.ca.s. a. a.ministered questionna.re wa. used to collect the da.a. Descriptive sta.istics were used to exa.ine ba.kground informa.ion on the sa.ple, a.d stepwise logistic regression wa. used to a.certa.n the fa.tors which a.e a.socia.ed with hea.th sta.us. The hea.th sta.us of older poor people wa. influenced by 6 fa.tors, a.d those fa.tors a.counted for 26.6% of the va.ia.ility in hea.th sta.us: Hea.th insura.ce covera.e (OR = 13.90;95% CI: 7.98-24.19), a.e of respondents (OR = 7.98;95% CI: 1.02-1.06), a.d seconda.y level educa.ion (OR=1.82;95% CI: 1.35-2.45). Ma.es a.e less likely to report good hea.th sta.us tha. fema.es (OR = 0.56;95% CI: 0.42-0.75). Older people in Ja.a.ca.do not purcha.e hea.th insura.ce covera.e a. a.preventa.ive mea.ure but a. a.cura.ive mea.ure. The ob-jectives of the current study a.e: 1) exa.ine the sociodemogra.hic cha.a.teristics of ma.ried people in Ja.a.ca.2) eva.ua.e self-ra.ed hea.th sta.us of ma.ried people in Ja.a.ca.3) deter-mine fa.tors tha. a.count for good hea.th sta.us of ma.ried people a.d 4) provide public hea.th pra.titioners with empirica. studies tha. ca. be used to formula.e policies for men in pa.ticula. non-ma.ried men in Ja.a.ca. Ma.eria.s a.d me- thods: Stra.ified ra.dom sa.pling technique wa. used to select 6,783 respondents. It wa. a.na.iona.ly representa.ive sa.ple. Logistic re-gression a.a.ysis wa. used to a.certa.n the correla.es of hea.th sta.us. Results: The mea. a.e for women in ma.ria.e in Ja.a.ca.wa. 6 yea.s lower tha. tha. of men. The correla.es of good hea.th sta.us (including modera.e hea.th) of respondents in descending order were self- reported illness (OR = 0.12, 95%CI = 0.01- 0.17);a.e (OR = 0.94, 95%CI = 0.93-0.96);income (OR = 1.32, 95%CI = 1.05-1.66) a.d sex of respon-dents (Or = 1.14-2.32)—χ2(df = 4) = 383.2, P a.ia.les a.counted for 44.4% of the expla.a.ory power of the model;with self-reported illness a.counting for 32.5% of the expla.a.ory power. Conclusion: Ma.ria.e pro-vides grea.er a.cess to more socioeconomic resources for its pa.ticipa.ts a. well a. increa.e men’s unwillingness to visit medica. ca.e pra.-titioners.

We present here results from our sea.ch for X-ra. pulsa.ions of the neu- tron sta. in the low ma.s X-ra. bina.y EXO 0748-676 a. a.frequency nea. the burst- oscilla.ion frequency of 44.7 Hz. Using the observa.ions ma.e with the Proportiona. Counter a.ra. onboa.d the Rossi X-ra. Timing Explorer, we did not find a.y pulsa.ions in the frequency ba.d of 44.4Hz to 45.0Hz a.d obta.ned a.3σ upper limit of 0.47% on the pulsed fra.tion for a.y possible underlying pulsa.ion in this frequency ba.d. We a.so discuss the importa.ce of EXO 0748-676 a. a.promising source for the detection of Gra.ita.iona. Wa.es.

By using the pola.iza.ion a.a.ysis of teleseismic SKS wa.eform da.a.recorded a. 116 seismic sta.ions which respectively involved in China.Na.iona. Digita. Seismogra.h Network, a.d Yunna., Sichua., Ga.su a.d Qingha. regiona. digita. networks, a.d porta.le broa.ba.d seismic networks deployed in Sichua., Yunna. a.d Tibet, we obta.ned the SKS fa.t-wa.e direction a.d the dela. time between fa.t a.d slow wa.es of ea.h sta.ion by use of the sta.king a.a.ysis method, a.d fina.ly a.quired the fine ima.e of upper ma.tle a.isotropy in the ea.tern Tibeta. Pla.ea. a.d its a.ja.ent regions. We a.a.yzed the crust-ma.tle coupling deforma.ion on the ba.is of combining the GPS observa.ion results a.d the upper ma.tle a.isotropy distribution in the study a.ea. The Yunna. region out of the pla.ea. ha. dif-ferent fea.ures of crust-ma.tle deforma.ion from the inside pla.ea.. There exists a.la.era. tra.sitiona. zone of crust-ma.tle coupling in the ea.tern edge of the Tibeta. Pla.ea., which is loca.ed in the region between 26° a.d 27°N in the west of Sichua. a.d Yunna.. To the south of tra.sitiona. zone, the fa.t-wa.e direction is gra.ua.ly turned from S60°―70°E in southwestern Yunna. to nea. EW in south-ea.tern Yunna.. To the north of tra.sitiona. zone in northwestern Yunna. a.d the south of western Sichua., the fa.t-wa.e direction is nea.ly NS. From crust to upper ma.tle, the geophysica. pa.a.eters (e.g. the crusta. thickness, the Bouguer gra.ity a.oma.y, a.d tectonic stress direction) show the fea.ure of la.era. va.ia.ion in the tra.sitiona. zone, a.though the fa.lt trend on the ground surfa.e is inconsis-tent with the fa.t-wa.e direction. This tra.sitiona. zone is close by the ea.tern Hima.a.a. synta.is, a.d it ma. pla. a. importa.t role in the pla.e bounda.y dyna.ics.

a.thropogenic clima.e cha.ge is expected to strengthen the vertica. wind shea.s a. a.rcra.t cruising a.titudes within the a.mospheric jet strea.s. Such a.strengthening would increa.e the preva.ence of the shea. insta.ilities tha. genera.e clea.-a.r turbulence. Clima.e modelling studies ha.e indica.ed tha. the a.ount of modera.e-or-grea.er clea.-a.r turbulence on tra.sa.la.tic flight routes in winter will increa.e significa.tly in future a. the clima.e cha.ges. However,the individua. responses of light,modera.e,a.d severe clea.-a.r turbulence ha.e not previously been studied,despite their importa.ce for a.rcra.t opera.ions. Here,we use clima.e model simula.ions to a.a.yse the tra.sa.la.tic wintertime clea.-a.r turbulence response to clima.e cha.ge in five a.ia.ion-releva.t turbulence strength ca.egories. We find tha. the proba.ility distributions for a. ensemble of 21 clea.-a.r turbulence dia.nostics genera.ly ga.n proba.ility in their right-ha.d ta.ls when the a.mospheric ca.bon dioxide concentra.ion is doubled. By converting the dia.nostics into eddy dissipa.ion ra.es,we find tha. the ensemblea.era.e a.rspa.e volume conta.ning light clea.-a.r turbulence increa.es by 59%(with a. intra.ensemble ra.ge of 43%–68%),light-to-modera.e by 75%(39%–96%),modera.e by 94%(37%–118%),modera.e-to-severe by 127%(30%–170%),a.d severe by 149%(36%–188%). These results suggest tha. the preva.ence of tra.sa.la.tic wintertime clea.-a.r turbulence will increa.e significa.tly in a.l a.ia.ion-releva.t strength ca.egories a. the clima.e cha.ges.
