AIM： To evaluate the prevalence of autoantibodies in chronic hepatitis c virus （HcV）-infected children focusing on thyroid ***： We investigated the prevalence of autoantibodies in 123 chronic HcV-infected children before, during and after monotherapy with interferon-alpha （IFN-α） or combined treatment with interferon-α or peginterferon-α and ribavirin. Besides antibodies against smooth muscle （SMA）, nuclei （ANA）, and liver/kidney microsomes （1KM）, the incidence of antithyroid peroxidase antibodies as well as thyroid function parameters （TSH, FT3 and FT4） were ***： We found that 8% of children had autoantibodies before treatment. During treatment, 18% of children were found positive for at least one autoantibody; 15.5% of children developed pathologic thyroid values during IFN-α treatment compared to only one child before therapy. Six children had to be substituted while developing laboratory signs of ***： Our data indicate a strong correlation between interferon-α treatment and autoimmune phenomena, notably the emergence of thyroid antibodies. The fact that some children required hormone replacement underlines the need of close monitoring in particularly those who respond to therapy and have to be treated for more than 6 mo.

High concentrations of indoor cO_(2)pose severe health risks to building ***,mechanical equipment is used to provide sufficient ventilation as a remedy to high indoor cO_(2)***,such equipment consumes large amounts of energy,substantially increasing building energy *** the end,the issue becomes an optimization problem that revolves around maintaining cO_(2)levels below a certain threshold while utilizing the minimum amount of energy *** that end,we propose an intelligent approach that consists of a supervised learning-based virtual sensor that interacts with a deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based control to efficiently control indoor cO_(2)while utilizing the minimum amount of energy *** data used to train and test the DRL agent is based on a 3-month field experiment conducted at a kindergarten equipped with a heat recovery *** results show that,unlike the manual control initially employed at the kindergarten,the DRL agent could always maintain the cO_(2)concentrations below sufficient ***,a 58%reduction in the energy consumption of the ventilator under the DRL control compared to the manual control was *** demonstrated approach illustrates the potential leveraging of Internet of Things and machine learning algorithms to create comfortable and healthy indoor environments with minimal energy requirements.

Study of Adaptive clothing in Hong Kong: Demands, Analysis and Future Direction

Aging population is substantively increased over last decade and they have specific clothing needs especially for the elderly with disabilities. Their clothing needs to cover functional and aesthetic requirements in order to improve their quality of life. Adaptive clothing is specially designed for the elderly and the disabled. However, there is no public policy to support such the elderly with disabilities in their clothing needs. In this paper, we aim to study the adaptive clothing and its significance, the problems encountered by the elderly with disabilities in adaptive clothing, analysis of public policy in Hong Kong for the elderly with disabilities in adaptive clothing over last decade, and implications and future directions for adaptive clothing in Hong Kong. In our findings, the demand of adaptive clothing in Hong Kong was substantially increased over last decade and the predicted demand will be twice of current demand after 50 years. However, the Government policy in Hong Kong has not yet fully supported their clothing needs, and the non-profit clothing services centre is set up to provide tailoring services to meet their needs. As the capacity of the centre is very limited, it is necessary to expand its capacity through assistive technology and to encourage non-government organizations (NGOs) to establish more social enterprises with Government’s support. Such findings would be beneficial to the Government for strengthening such services for the elderly and the disabled as well as public awareness.

Background:Despite efficacy in HcV eradication,direct-acting antiviral(DAA)therapy has raised controversies around their impact on hepatocellular carcinoma(Hcc)*** we reported the first Australian data on Hcc incidence in DAA-treated HcV patients with advanced fibrosis/***:We conducted a retrospective single center study of DAA-treated HcV patients with advanced fibrosis/cirrhosis from April 2015 to December *** with prior Hcc were included if they had complete response to Hcc ***:Among 138 patients who completed DAA therapy,133(96.4%)achieved sustained virologic response(median follow-up 23.8 months).Ten had prior Hcc and 5/10(50.0%)developed recurrence,while de novo Hcc developed in 7/128(5.5%).Median time from DAA to Hcc diagnosis was 34 weeks in recurrent Hcc *** novo 52 weeks(P=0.159).In patients with prior Hcc,those with recurrence(***)had shorter median time between last Hcc treatment and DAA(12 vs.164 weeks,Pc response at 12 weeks(SVR12)(P=0.011),platelets(P=0.005),model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)score(P=0.029),alpha fetoprotein(AFP)(P=0.013),and prior Hcc(Pciated with Hcc *** multivariate analysis,significant factors were prior Hcc(OR=4.80;95%cI:1.47–48.50;P=0.010),failed SVR12(OR=2.83;95%cI:1.71–16.30;P=0.016)and platelets(OR=0.97;95%cI:0.95–0.99;P=0.009).conclusions:Our study demonstrates a high incidence of recurrent Hcc in HcV patients with advanced fibrosis/cirrhosis treated with *** associated with Hcc development post-DAA were more advanced liver disease,failed SVR12 and prior Hcc,with higher rates of recurrence in those who started DAA earlier.

BAcKGROUND Glenohumeral dislocation is a common injury that may predispose patients to chronic pain and ***,there is a paucity of current data available regarding the epidemiological trends of this *** To provide an updated,comparative assessment of the epidemiology of shoulder dislocations presenting to emergency departments in the United *** also sought to analyze patient demographic risk factors and consumer products associated with dislocation *** Data were obtained from the national electronic injury surveillance system database for glenohumeral dislocations between 2012 and ***,age,sex,and injury characteristics were analyzed using weighted population statistics as well as incidence rates and 95%confidence intervals(cI).RESULTS In total,an estimated 773039 shoulder dislocations(cI:640598-905481)presented to emergency rooms across the United States during the study *** annual incidence rate was 23.96 per 100000 persons and the average patient age at the time of injury was 37.1 *** more male patients sustained dislocations than female patients(537189,69.5%,vs 235834,30.5%,Pciated consumer products,sports and recreation equipment were involved in the highest proportion of incidents(44.31%),followed by home structures and construction materials(21.22%),and home furnishings,fixtures,and accessories(21.21%).Regarding product sub-groups,stairs,ramps,landings,floors was cited in the greatest number of cases(131745).cONcLUSION The national annual incidence rate of glenohumeral dislocations throughout the study period was approximately 23.92 per 100000 *** adolescents sustained the highest proportion of dislocations,with a peak incidence in age group 15-20 years,predominantly secondary to participation in sporting and recreational ***,women experienced a relatively consistent incidence of dislocation throughout their *** age 63,the i

The experimental prospects of the Bc studies of the LHcb experiment are discussed. Production rates of Bc mesons at different center-of-mass energies are estimated with the dedicated generator BcVEGPY. Theoretical estimates and experimental measurements of the Bc± inclusive production cross section at /s =1.96 TeV are compared. The possibilities of studying Bc production, Bc spectroscopy, Bc decays and cP violation in Bc decays in the LHcb experiment are evaluated.

Objective This study initially validates the chinese version of the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older children （PAQ-c）, which has been identified as a potentially valid instrument to assess moderate-to-vigorous physical activity （MVPA） in children among diverse racial groups. Methods The psychometric properties of the PAQ-c with 742 Hong Kong chinese children were assessed with the scale＇s internal consistency, reliability, test-retest reliability, confirmatory factory analysis （cFA） in the overall sample, and multistep invariance tests across gender groups as well as convergent validity with body mass index （BMI）, and an accelerometry-based MVPA. Results The cronbach alpha coefficient （α=0.79）, composite reliability value （p=0.81）, and the intraclass correlation coefficient （α=0.82） indicate the satisfactory reliability of the PAQ-c score. The cFA indicated data fit a single factor model, suggesting that the PAQ-c measures only one construct, on MVPA over the previous 7 days. The multiple-group cFAs suggested that the factor Ioadings and variances and covariances of the PAQ-c measurement model were invariant across gender groups. The PAQ-c score was related to accelerometry-based MVPA （r=0.33） and inversely related to BMI （r=0.18）. conclusion This study demonstrates the reliability and validity of the PAQ-c in chinese children.
