Even though solid waste management is widely researched,there is scanty literature addressing the influence of physical environmental attributes on solid waste management service provision in informal *** aim of this study was to investigate the nexus between physical infrastructural planning and waste management *** obtain relevant results,this study used the case study of Peleng township in *** study relied on empirical data collected from 91 ran-domly selected *** was used for mapping 550 purposively selected households,and for visualization of the physical *** study concluded that the community is at the forefront of dealing with waste problems in their ***,their interventions have fallen short of becoming profitable and sustainable due to a failure of the government to integrate solid waste management into mainstream urban development *** findings revealed that there is minimal government intervention for improved solid waste management in the *** recommends that adequate attention must be given to road infrastructure and physical developments in order solid waste management in Peleng,Lobatse.

AIM:To investigate the expression and potential prognostic role of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and endoglin in gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors(GEP-NETs) . METHODS:Microvessel density(MVD) in GEP-NETs was evaluated using endoglin and CD31 *** addition,tissue levels of endoglin and VEGF were determined in homogenates by ELISA. RESULTS:Endoglin was highly expressed on tumor endothelial ***31 MVD in GEP-NETs was significantly higher compared to endoglin MVD(Pker to indicate and predict metastases,which might be useful in the post-resection therapeutic approach of patients with GEP-NETs.

Background:There are insufficient data regarding the impact of acute respiratory distress syndrome related to coronavirus disease 2019(C-ARDS)–caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)–on health-related quality of life(HRQoL)and the occurrence of stress-related disorders in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)intensive care unit(ICU)*** aim of this study is to assess HRQoL and the occurrence of stress-related disorders(acute stress disorder[ASD]and post-traumatic stress disorder[PTSD])in C-ARDS ICU survivors at 1 and 6 months following hospital ***:This prospective observational study included 90 patients treated for C-ARDS between March and May 2020 in the ICU and discharged alive from the *** patients included in the study were contacted by telephone 1 month and 6 months post-hospital discharge to assess the presence of symptoms of stress-related disorders and HRQoL using the 8-item Treatment Outcome Post-traumatic Stress Disorder scale(TOP-8)and 36-item Short Form survey(SF-36).We performed univariate analyses to evaluate differences between patients who developed stress and those who did *** also compared SF-36 scores in our sample with data from the general Spanish population and from cohorts of non–C-ARDS and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-1(SARS-CoV-1)***:There are 24.1%of patients showed symptoms of ASD;in 13.5%of cases the symptoms persisted 6 months *** factors for the development of symptoms of ASD and PTSD are younger age,female sex,obesity,a previously diagnosed psychiatric disease and disease severity at ICU admission(P<0.05).HRQoL was greatly affected by C-ARDS;however,there was improvement on all scales of the SF-36 at the 6-month follow-up(P<0.05).The mean SF-36 score of our sample was higher than those previously reported in non–C-ARDS survivors(P<0.05)for physical functioning(78.0 vs.52.0),role functioning/physical(51.0 vs.31.0),bodily pain(76.1 vs.57

Several tasks related to geographical information retrieval and to the geographical information sciences involve toponym matching,that is,the problem of matching place names that share a common *** this article,we present the results of a wide-ranging evaluation on the performance of different string similarity metrics over the toponym matching *** also report on experiments involving the usage of supervised machine learning for combining multiple similarity metrics,which has the natural advantage of avoiding the manual tuning of similarity *** with a very large dataset show that the performance differences for the individual similarity metrics are relatively small,and that carefully tuning the similarity threshold is important for achieving good *** methods based on supervised machine learning,particularly when considering ensembles of decision trees,can achieve good results on this task,significantly outperforming the individual similarity metrics.

By drawing on phenomenological notions, this paper offers a ＂middle way＂ reading of Bash6＇s travelogues that accentuates their religious, rather than merely aesthetical purpose, which is to transmit the Buddha Dharma. Two distinctive poetic traditions of Bash6 interpretation exist： the Zen-inflected, monologic, and individualist tradition and the intertextual or dialogical interpretation. One way to reconcile these two strains in Bash6＇s poetics is to see his haikai through the lens of mind-to-mind transmission of light. This ＂middle way＂ interpretation traces a double movement of phenomenological reduction through two travelogues： first, by showing how home departure entails freeing the mind of fixity and, second, by suggesting that mind-to-mind transmission removes the ambition to find refuge in peak experiences, just as it resists being reduced to parodic subversion of reigning cultural values. In the Buddhist lineage, the heart of transmission rests neither upon conservation nor upon rejection of poetic essences but, rather, lies in transforming haikai into medicine, which is efficacious for the process of awakening.

前人研究表明,在不同民族、不同国家之间的交流日益频繁且充满挑战的今天,增进对各文化的了解可以促进交流这一复杂的进程。针对家喻户晓的谚语和习语所承载的价值观开展研究,尤其有助于加强人与人之间的理解与联系。然而在涉及价值观、谚语或跨文化交流的文献和社会科学研究中,有关乌拉圭本土的研究寥寥无几。本研究将在此基础上收集、分析、描述研究当今乌拉圭谚语中蕴含的价值观,以丰富对跨文化交流的理解。这项研究旨在(一)以乌拉圭常用的西班牙语谚语为例,揭示其中的文化价值观;(二)通过三大价值观纬度(分别来自霍夫斯泰德,施瓦茨,翁立平理论框架)来揭示乌拉圭最具影响力的谚语所体现的乌拉圭核心价值观。具体来说,本研究试图解决两个研究问题。问题一:“乌拉圭人最常说的谚语和习语是什么?”研究者进行了公开调查,受访者(N=162)提出了818条谚语,其中224条是不同的。研究者从这224个样本中研究选取了至少被两个人重复的96条谚语。选取的样本被分成三个频次组,研究者对于高频组中的12条谚语和中频组中的16条谚语进行了深入研究和分析,对低频组进行了简要描述,旨在探究这些谚语背后的本土文化内涵和文化语境。分析聚焦于问题二:“这些谚语背后的价值是什么?”每个谚语都按照三个既定的跨文化图式进行编码,霍夫斯泰德(1980,2005)的文化一般普遍维度,主位衍生的施瓦茨(1992)文化本位研究,以及翁立平等人(2021)专门用于中国背景下的主位/本土研究(为跨文化比较提供基础)。客位分析发现,与乌拉圭谚语相关的最常见价值观是从众和传统(Schwartz,1992)、避免不确定性和放纵(Hofstede,2005)、以及道德美德和实践维度(Weng等,2021)。已有的乌拉圭价值观相关研究进一步证实了这些发现,例如Petrella(2008)、Zuasnabar等人(2010)的研究,以及计划与预算办公室的报告(2018)等。除了收集和确认96条独特的谚语/习语的意义之外,本文还提供了对描述性主位视角和比较主位域的拓展分析。希望本研究能够为语言文化教师提供借鉴意义,并对未来跨文化培训和研究设计有所裨益,增进人们对乌拉圭的跨文化理解。

We report the first case of a healthy 23-year-old female who underwent an interventional radiology-guided embolization of a hepatic adenoma, which resulted in a gas forming hepatic liver abscess and septicemia by Clostridium paraputrificum. A retrospective review of Clostridial liver abscesses was performed using a Pub Med literature search, and we found 57 clostridial hepatic abscess cases. The two most commonly reported clostridial species are C. perfringens and C. septicum(64.9% and 17.5% respectively). C. perfringens cases carried a mortality of 67.6% with median survival of 11 h, and 70.2% of the C. perfringens cases experienced hemolysis. All C. septicum cases were found to have underlying liver malignancy at the time of the presentation with a mortality of only 30%. The remaining cases were caused by various Clostridium species, and this cohort's clinical course was significantly milder when compared to the above C. perfringens and C. septicum cohorts.
