Syntheses,characterization,and evaluation of novel non-carboxylic analogues of Gemfibrozil:a bioisosteric approach

Gemfibrozil is a widely used lipid modifying drug with well-established hypolipidemic and anti-atherosclerotic benefits; however, the presence of a carboxylic acid moiety in its structure is responsible for side effects in the gastrointestinal tract. The principle of bioisosterism was applied to design derivatives replacing the carboxylic acid group. The carboxylic acid group was replaced with bioisoteric groups, such as 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol and hydroxamic acid. The derivatives were then synthesized, characterized, and evaluated in rats for reduced gastrointestinal irritation and hypolipidemic effects. Gemfibrozil was used as standard for comparison. The derivatives demonstrated less gastric irritation and retained hypolipidemic effects, however the hypolipidemic affects were significantly less than that of Gemfibrozil. The results of this study offers a direction for further research on the application of bioisosterism for the design of new derivatives of Gemfibrozil and other fibric acid derivatives.

The present work aims to enhance the ballistic resistance of AA7005 alloy by incorporating the TiB2 and B4C ceramic reinforcement particles. Surface composites with different weight fractions of TiB2 and B4C particles were processed by friction stir processing. Micro-hardness and depth of penetration tests were carried out to evaluate the ballistic properties of the surface composites. The surface hardness of the composite was found to be nearly 70 HV higher than base alloy. The depth of penetration of the steel projectile was 20e26mm in the composites as compared to 37mm in the base alloy. Ballistic mass efficiency factor of the surface composite was found to be 1.6 times higher than base alloy. This is mainly attributed to the dispersion strengthening from the reinforcement particles.

In this paper, a novel fusion framework is proposed for night-vision applications such as pedestrian recognition,vehicle navigation and surveillance. The underlying concept is to combine low-light visible and infrared imagery into a single output to enhance visual perception. The proposed framework is computationally simple since it is only realized in the spatial domain. The core idea is to obtain an initial fused image by averaging all the source images. The initial fused image is then enhanced by selecting the most salient features guided from the root mean square error(RMSE) and fractal dimension of the visual and infrared images to obtain the final fused *** experiments on different scene imaginary demonstrate that it is consistently superior to the conventional image fusion methods in terms of visual and quantitative evaluations.

The Kathalguri Pluton is a granitic pluton confined within the Palaeo-Mesoproterozoic Shillong Group of rocks in the Mikir Massif, eastern India. The pluton is vertically zoned characterized by lower medium-to coarsegrained equigranular to porphyritic granite and upper finegrained equigranular granite. Small to large mafic magmatic enclaves(MME) are distributed within the lower granite, while homogeneous grey-coloured hybrid rocks dominate the upper granite. From field relationships, textural features, and mineral chemical analyses we infer that the Kathalguri Pluton was a vertically zoned felsic magma chamber that was intruded by mafic magma during its evolution. The lower portion of the magma chamber was occupied by crystal mush, while the upper portion was dominated by melt when mafic magma intruded it. The occurrence of upper and lower zonations was probably brought about by fractional crystallization. The presence of such zonations within the felsic reservoir caused the mafic magma to interact with the two distinct zones differently,forming MME in the lower granite and homogeneous hybrid rocks in the upper portion. The plagioclase compositions of the larger MME, smaller MME, hybrid rocks,and granitic host rocks vary between An;–An;, An;–An;, An;–An;,and An;–An;respectively. The alkali feldspar compositions of the hybrid rocks range from Or;to Or;, while that of the host granite varies from Or;to Or;. The biotite is eastonitic and siderophyllitic in composition, while the pyroxene is diopside. The apparent pressure range of biotite crystallization in the granitic rocks was calculated at 1.93 to 2.28 kbar, while the biotite crystallization temperature for the different rock types is in the range of 628 and 759 ℃. Oxygen fugacity estimates from the biotite suggest that the Kathalguri magmas crystallized at fO;conditions above the nickel-nickel oxide(NNO) buffer. This study examines the impact of financial development on corporate investment in terms of their influence on financing *** study also tries to find the effect of financial development on the investment-cash flow sensitivity across the size,degree of financial constraints and group affiliation of the *** study employs dynamic panel data model or more specifically system generalized method of moments(GMM)estimation *** estimation results reveal that cash flow affects the investment decision of the company positively,which implies that Indian firms are financially ***,we observe that financial development reduces the investment-cash flow sensitivity and the effect of financial development is more prominent for small size and standalone *** results are robust across the period and,for both financially constrained and unconstrained *** study contributes to the existing literature by analyzing the impact of financial development on the role of cash flow in determining investments undertaken by the Indian firms,which is an unexplored issue from an emerging market perspective.

Objective:To analyze the phytochemical composition and in vitro antioxidant properties of aqueous extract of Aerva Lanata（***） ***:During the preliminary phytochemical analysis,the aqueous extract of *** was screened for the presence of carbohydrates,proteins,phenolic compounds,oil and fats,saponins,flavonoids,alkaloids. tannins and *** activity of the extract was determined by 2.2-dipbenyl- 1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity,metal chelating activity,reducing power activity and DNA damage inhibition *** of phenolic compounds was performed by FolinCiocaiteau reagent method and gradient high performance liquid chromatography technique. Results:Preliminary phytochemical analysis exhibited the presence of phenolic compounds, *** and phytosterols as major phytochemical *** extract exhibited high 2.2—diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity(IC50= 110.74μg/ mL).metal chelating activity(IC50= 758.17μg/mL).reducing power activity and DIA damage inhibition *** extract was reported to possess a high amount of total phenolic content and some of them were identified as gallic acid（3,4,3-OH）,apigenin-7—O-glucoside tapigetrin), quercetin-3—O-rutinoside（rutin） and myricetin（3,5,7,3,4,5-OH）by high performance liquid chromatography *** extract was found non toxic towards human erythrocytes in the hemolytic assay(IC50= 24.89 mg/mL).Conclusions:These results conclud that *** stem possesses high antioxidant activity and can he used for the development of natural and sale antioxidant compounds.

There are many outcrops of the Tertiary sediments in northeast India and a large number of plant megafossils have been described from there. Among all, the Late Oligocene sedimentary basin of Makum Coalfield is very important because there is no other exposure having such a rich palaeofloral assemblage not only from northeast India but also from the whole country. The assemblage is also important to confirm whether the suturing between the Indian and Eurasian plates was complete to facilitate plant migration or not. All the reported plant fossils clearly indicate the prevalence of tropical climate in the region during the deposition of the sediments. As the majority of taxa occur in tropical evergreen to moist deciduous and littoral and swampy forest, a warm and humid climate may be envisaged in Upper Assam during the Late Oligocene. The abundance of palms and pantropical megathermal plant families in the Makum Coalfield indicate that the cold month mean temperature(CMMT) was not less than 18°C. The quantitative palaeoclimate reconstruction indicates a monsoonal climate during the period with the same intensity as that of the modern day. The absence of Southeast Eurasian elements in the fossil assemblage provides clear evidence that suturing between the Indian and Asian plates was not complete till the Late Oligocene. Several modern analogues of the fossil taxa are now endemic to the Western Ghats which lies in the same palaeolatitude.
