Speckle-type POZ （pox virus and zinc finger protein） protein （SPOP） is anE3 ubiquitin ligase adaptor protein that specifically promotes the ubiquitination and proteasome degradation of proteins. SPOP mutations are frequent in prostate cancer, and in a previous study, An et al. demonstrated that SPOP induced the degradation of the androgen receptor （AR） suggesting that SPOP is important in maintaining prostate homeostasis. In this current highlighted report, An and colleagues showed that ERG, which has been implicated as an oncoprotein in prostate cancer.

The dysregulation of pathways regulat-ing cellular function is a frequent hall-mark of cancer and the development of specific pathway inhibitors that alter tumor growth and progression are the focus of multiple recent studies. E3 ubiquitin ligases are a large group of diverse protein enzymes that specifically target proteins for dear- ance, and their importance to normal cel-lular function is illustrated in the many diseases associated with their loss of func- tion or inappropriate targeting. S-phase kinase-associated protein 2 （Skp2） is an F box protein that plays critical roles in cell-cycle progression, senescence, metabolism, and acts as an Skpl-Cullin-l-F box （SCF） ubiquitin ligase substrate recognition fac-tor. Overexpression of Skp2 is associated with poor prognosis and metastasis in many cancers and is a well validated drug target. In a recent report, Chart et al. have iden-tified an Skp2 inhibitor that selectively impairs Skp2 E3 ligase activity using an integrated virtual high-throughput drug screening and experimental validation approach. This Skp2 inhibitor restricts cancer stemness and potentiates sensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents in multiple ani-mal tumor models. These findings identify a new novel small molecule that targets the Skp2 and reduces tumor growth by attenu-ating aerobic glycolysis and inducing cel-lular senescence.

Job-shop scheduling problem with discretely controllable processing times (JSP-DCPT) is modeled based on the disjunctive graph, and the formulation of JSP-DCPT is presented. A three-step decomposition approach is proposed so that JSP-DCPT can be handled by solving a job-shop scheduling problem (JSP) and a series of discrete time-cost tradeoff problems. To simplify the decomposition approach, the time-cost phase plane is introduced to describe tradeoffs of the discrete time-cost tradeoff problem, and an extreme mode-based set dominant theory is elaborated so that an upper bound is determined to cut discrete time-cost tradeoff problems generated by using the proposed decomposition approach. An extreme mode-based set dominant decomposition algorithm (EMSDDA) is then proposed. Experimental simulations for instance JSPDCPT_FT10, which is designed based on a JSP benchmark FT10, demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed theory and the decomposition approach.

A series of new lanthanide-radical complexes [{Ln(hfac)3}2(NITPhIM)2] (Ln = Nd (1), Eu (2), Tb (3), Er (4); hfac = hexafluoroacetylacetonate; NITPhIM = 2-[4-(1-imidazole)phenyl]-4,4,5,5- tetramethylimidazoline-1- oxyl-3- oxide) have been prepared and characterized. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that these complexes are isostructural with one-dimensional chain structures. These consist in Ln(hfac)3 units bridged by the paramagnetic ligands by the means of coordination of their nitronyl nitroxide groups and imidazole rings. Interestingly, each Ln ion is either bound to two nitronyl nitroxide groups or to two imidazole units, and the different Ln centers alternate along the chain. Magnetic studies show that complex 3 exhibits a single-chain magnet behavior.

Effect of hydration on the surface basicity and catalytic activity of Mg-rare earth mixed oxides for aldol condensation

Magnesium and rare earth mixed oxides（Mg3 REOx（RE=La, Y. Ce）） were prepared and characterized by Xray diffraction（XRD）, N_2 adsorption-desorption, infrared spectra and microcalorimetry of CO_2. The results reveal that the Mg_3 CeO_x catalyst is present in the form of Mg-Ce-O solid solution,while the Mg3 LaOx and Mg_3 YO_x catalysts are probably rare earth oxides dispersed on MgO surface. As a result, among the calcined Mg_3 REO_x catalysts, the Mg_3 CeO_x catalyst presents the highest rate constant for acetone aldolization, which is well correlated to its more homogeneous distribution of basic sites. In contrary, the Mg_3 YO_x catalyst exhibit the lowest catalytic activity for acetone aldolization. Upon hydration pre-treatment, the basic properties on the surface of the Mg_3 REO_x catalysts were changed markedly. The Mg_3 YO_x catalyst after hydration treatment shows the highest amount of basic sites on catalyst surface, and then exhibits the highest activity among the hydrated Mg_3 REO_x catalysts. These results make it possible to fine-tune basic sites for acetone aldolization.

A host of abiotic factors modify fish social behavior. However, few studies have characterized the effects of temperature on behavior. In this study, brown trout Salmo trutta fry were reared at 5 dif- ferent temperatures （4℃, 6℃, 8℃, 10℃, and 12℃）. In order to characterize group structure, 3 be- havioral parameters were investigated： group social structure （based on inter-individual distances）, inter-individual relationships （based on physical contacts）, and individual activity. These behavioral parameters were studied at the emergence stage, which corresponds to a switch from a social gre- garious life in the gravel to a solitary one in the water column. Data analysis showed that the inter- individual distances increased with increasing temperature, particularly the nearest neighbor distance. The mean number of physical contacts between fry increased at both low and high tem- peratures. At high temperatures, most fry moved apart from each other after a physical contact. Swimming activity decreased at both the lower and upper temperatures （18% of activity at 4℃, 38% at 8℃, and 12% at 12℃）. This study showed that temperature modifies brown trout fry activity, inter-individual relationships, and social behavior, which all affect group cohesion before emer- gence and can influence their survival and dispersal.

OpenStreetMap(OSM)currently represents the most popular project of Volunteered Geographic Information(VGI):geodata are collected by common people and made available for public *** Laser Scanning(ALS)enables the acquisition of high-resolution digital elevation models that are used for many *** study combines the advantages of both ALS and OSM,offering a promising new approach that enhances data quality and allows change detection:the mainly up-to-date 2D data of OSM can be combined with the high-resolution–but rarely updated–elevation information provided by *** case study investigates building objects of OSM and ALS data of the city of Bregenz,*** quality of OSM is discerned by the comparison of building footprints using different true positive definitions(*** area).High quality of OSM data is revealed,yet also limitations of each method with respect to heterogeneous regions and building outlines are *** the first time,an up-to-date Digital Surface Model(DSM)combining 2D OSM and ALS data is achieved.A multitude of applications such as flood simulations and solar potential assessments can directly benefit from this data combination,since their value and reliability strongly depend on an up-to-date DSM.

Currently,vehicle-related particulate matter is the main determinant air pollution in the urban *** study was designed to investigate the level of fine(PM_(2.5))and coarse particle(PM_(10))concentration of roadside vehicles in Addis Ababa,the capital city of Ethiopia using artificial neural network *** train,test and validate the model,the traffic volume,weather data and particulate matter concentrations were collected from 15 different sites in the *** experimental results showed that the city average 24-hr PM_(2.5)concentration is 13%-144%and 58%-241%higher than air quality index(AQI)and world health organization(WHO)standards,*** PM_(10)results also exceeded the AQI(54%-65%)and WHO(8%-395%)*** model runs using the Levenberg-Marquardt(Trainlm)and the Scaled Conjugate Gradient(Trainscg)and comparison were performed,to identify the minimum fractional error between the observed and the predicted *** two models were determined using the correlation coefficient and other statistical *** Trainscg model,the average concentration of PM_(2.5)and PM_(10)exhaust emission correlation coefficient were predicted to be(R^(2)=0.775)and(R^(2)=0.92),*** Trainlm model has also well predicted the exhaust emission of PM_(2.5)(R~2=0.943)and PM_(10)(R^(2)=0.959).The overall results showed that a better correlation coefficient obtained in the Trainlm model,could be considered as optional methods to predict transport-related particulate matter concentration emission using traffic volume and weather data for Ethiopia cities and other countries that have similar geographical and development settings.
