Preparation and properties of high-energy-density aluminum/boroncontaining gelled fuels

Energetic nanofluid fuel has caught the attention of the field of aerospace liquid propellant for its high energy density(HED), but it suffers from the inevitable solid-liquid phase separation problem. To resolve this problem, herein we synthesized the high-Al-/B-containing(up to 30%(mass)) HED gelled fuels, with low-molecular-mass organic gellant Z, which show high net heat of combustion(NHOC), density, storage stability, and thixotropic properties. The characterizations indicate that the application of energetic particles to the gelled fuels obviously destroys their fibrous network structures but can provide the new particle-gellant gelation microstructures, resulting in the comparable stability between 1.0%(mass) Z/JP-10 + 30%(mass) Al or B and pure JP-10 gelled fuel. Moreover, the gelled fuels with high-content Al or B exhibit high shear-thinning property, recovery capability, and mechanical strength, which are favorable for their storage and utilization. Importantly, the prepared 1.0%(mass) Z/JP-10 + 30%(mass) B(or 1.0%(mass) Z/JP-10 + 30%(mass) Al) shows the density and NHOC 1.27 times(1.30) and 1.43 times(1.21)higher than pure JP-10, respectively. This work provides a facile and valid approach to the manufacturing of HED gelled fuels with high content of energetic particles for gel propellants.

Micro-nanoarchitectonic of aluminum-hydrogel propellant with static stability and dynamic rheology

The aluminum-water system is a promising propellant due to high energy and low signal characteristics,and the gel form is easier to store and *** this work,hydrogels of water and aluminum particles were prepared using the low-molecular-weight gellant *** various physical properties of gel systems,including the water loss rate,phase transition temperature,and centrifugal stability at different gellant and aluminum contents,were *** properties were assessed through shear thinning tests,thixotropy tests,strain sweep analysis,and frequency sweep *** microstructure of the gel was obtained through scanning electron microscopy *** results show that the aluminum-hydrogel network structure is composed of micron-scale aluminum and agarose nanosheets,and the unique micro-nanostructure endows the gel with excellent mechanical strength and thermal stability,which improve with increasing gellant and aluminum ***,the gel with 2% agarose and 20% aluminum had the best performance;the storage modulus reached 90647 Pa,which was within the linear viscoelastic region,and the maximum withstand pressure was 111.2 kPa,which was 118.8% greater than that of the pure ***,the gel demonstrates remarkable shear thinning behavior and can undergo gel-sol transformation upon shearing or heating to exceeding 114℃.

Performance and enhanced oil recovery efficiency of an acid-resistant polymer microspheres of anti-CO2 channeling in low-permeability reservoirs

CO2flooding is a vital development method for enhanced oil recovery in low-permeability reservoirs,However,micro-fractures are developed in low-permeability reservoirs,which are essential oil flow channels but can also cause severe CO2gas channeling ***,anti-gas channeling is a necessary measure to improve the effect of *** kind of anti-gas channeling refers to the plugging of fractures in the deep formation to prevent CO2gas channeling,which is different from the wellbore *** microspheres have the characteristics of controllable deep plugging,which can achieve the profile control of low-permeability fractured *** acidic environments with supercritical CO2,traditional polymer microspheres have poor expandability and plugging *** on previous work,a systematic evaluation of the expansion performance,dispersion rheological properties,stability,deep migration,anti-CO2channeling and enhanced oil recovery ability of a novel acid-resistant polymer microsphere（DCNPM-A） was carried out under CQ oilifield conditions（salinity of85,000 mg/L,80℃,pH=3）.The results show that the DCNPM-A microsphere had a better expansion performance than the traditional microsphere,with a swelling rate of *** microsphere dispersion with a concentration of 0.1%-0.5% had the advantages of low viscosity,high dispersion and good injectability in the low permeability fractured *** the acidic environment of supercritical CO2,DCNPM-A microspheres showed excellent stability and could maintain strength for over 60 d with less *** core experiments,DCNPM-A microspheres exhibited delayed swelling characteristics and could effectively plug deep *** a plugging rate of 95%,the subsequent enhanced oil recovery of CO2flooding could reach 21.03%.The experimental results can provide a theoretical basis for anti-CO2channeling and enhanced oil recovery in low-permeability fractured reservoirs.

Photoinduced transposed Paternò-Büchi reaction for effective synthesis of high-performance jet fuel

High-energy-density fuels are important for volume-limited aerospace vehicles,but the increase in fuel energy density always leads to poor cryogenic ***,we investigated the transposed Paternò-Büchi reaction of biomass cyclic ketone and cyclic alkene to synthesize a new kind of alkyl-substituted polycyclic hydrocarbon fuel with high energy density and good cryogenic *** triplet-energy-quenching results and phosphorescent emission spectra reveal the sensitization mechanism of the reaction,including photosensitizer excitation,triplettriplet energy transfer,cyclization,and relaxation,and the possible reaction path was revealed by the density functional theory(DFT)*** reaction conditions of photosensitizer type and addition,molar ratio of substrates,reaction temperature,and incident light intensity were optimized,with the target product yield achieving 65.5%.Moreover,the reaction dynamics of the reaction rate versus the light intensity are *** the hydrogenation-deoxygenation reaction,three fuels with a high density of 0.864-0.938 g·ml^(-1) and a low freezing point of<-55℃ are *** work provides a benign and effective approach to synthesize high-performance fuels.

Effect of cis/trans molecular structures on pyrolysis performance and heat sink of decalin isomers

Decalin is considered as an important compound of high-energy-density endothermic fuel,which is an ideal on-board coolant for thermal management of advanced ***,decalin contains two isomers with a tunable composition,and their effects on the pyrolysis performance,such as the heat sink and coking tendency have not been ***,we investigated the pyrolysis of decalin isomers,i.e.,cis-decalin,trans-decalin and their mixtures(denoted as mix-decalin),in order to clarify the effects of the cis-/trans-structures on the pyrolysis performance of decalin *** pyrolysis results confirmed that conversion of the tested fuels(600–725℃,4 MPa)decreased in the order cis-decalin>mix-decalin>*** analyses of the pyrolysis products were used to compare the product distributions from cis-decalin,mix-decalin and trans-decalin,and the yields of some typical components(such as cyclohexene,1-methylcyclohexene,benzene and toluene)showed significant differences,which could be ascribed to deeper cracking of ***,the heat sinks and coking tendencies of the decalins decreased in the order cis-decalin>mix-decalin>*** work demonstrates the relationship between the cis/trans structures and the pyrolysis performance of decalin,which provides a better understanding of the structure-activity relationships of endothermic hydrocarbon fuels.

Effect of Wave Nonlinearity on the Instantaneous Seabed Liquefaction

The nonlinear variation of wave is commonly seen in nearshore area,and the resulting seabed response and liquefaction are of high concern to coastal *** this study,an analytical formula considering the nonlinear wave skewness and asymmetry is adopted to provide wave pressure on the seabed *** liquefaction depth attenuation coefficient and width growth coefficient are defined to quantitatively characterize the nonlinear effect of wave on seabed *** on the 2D full dynamic model of wave-induced seabed response,a detailed parametric study is carried out in order to evaluate the influence of the nonlinear variation of wave loadings on seabed ***,new empirical prediction formulas are proposed to fast predict the maximum liquefaction under nonlinear *** indicate that(1)Due to the influence of wave nonlinearity,the vertical transmission of negative pore water pressure in the seabed is hindered,and therefore,the amplitude decreases significantly.(2)In general,with the increase of wave nonlinearity,the liquefaction depth of seabed decreases *** under asymmetric and skewed wave loading,the attenuation of maximum seabed liquefaction depth is the most significant among all the nonlinear wave ***,highly skewed wave can cause the liquefaction depth of seabed greater than that under linear wave.(3)The asymmetry of wave pressure leads to the increase of liquefaction width,whereas the influence of skewedness is not significant.(4)Compared with the nonlinear waveform,seabed liquefaction is more sensitive to the variation of nonlinear degree of wave loading.

Five-year analysis of isolated pathogens and antibiotic resistance of ocular infections from two large tertiary comprehensive hospitals in east China

AIM:To analyze the spectrum of isolated pathogens and antibiotic resistance for ocular infections within 5y at two tertiary hospitals in east ***:Ocular specimen data were collected from January 2019 to October *** pathogen spectrum and positive culture rate for different infection location,such as keratitis,endophthalmitis,and periocular infections,along with antibiotic resistance were ***:We included 2727 specimens,including 827(30.33%)positive cultures.A total of 871 strains were isolated,530(60.85%)bacterial and 341(39.15%)fungal strains were ***-positive cocci(GPC)were the most common ocular *** most common bacterial isolates were Staphylococcus epidermidis(25.03%),Staphylococcus aureus(7.46%),Streptococcus pneumoniae(4.59%),Corynebacterium macginleyi(3.44%),and Pseudomonas aeruginosa(3.33%).The most common fungal genera were Fusarium spp.(12.74%),Aspergillus spp.(6.54%),and Scedosporium spp.(5.74%).Staphylococcus epidermidis strains showed more than 50%resistance to *** pneumoniae and Corynebacterium macginleyi showed more than 90%resistance to *** percentage of bacteria showing multidrug resistance(MDR)significantly decreased(χ^(2)=17.44,P=0.002).CONCLUSION:GPC are the most common ocular *** macginleyi,as the fourth common bacterium,may currently be the local microbiological feature of east *** *** the most common *** than 50%of the GPC are resistant to fluoroquinolones,penicillins,and ***,the proportion of MDR strains has been reduced over time.
