Prevalence and ecological factors affecting the distribution of plant-parasitic nematodes in Prunus groves in Spain

A wide survey was conducted to study plant-parasitic nematodes(PPNs)associated with Prunus groves in *** research aimed to determine the prevalence and distribution of PPNs in Prunus groves,as well as the influence of explanatory variables describing soil,climate and agricultural management in structuring the variation of PPNs community composition.A total of 218 sampling sites were surveyed and 84 PPN species belonging to 32 genera were identified based of an integrative taxonomic *** species considered as potential limiting factors in Prunus production,such as Meloidogyne arenaria,***,***,Pratylenchus penetrans and ***,were identified in this *** soil physico-chemical(C,Mg,N,Na,OM,P,pH and clay,loamy sand and sandy loam texture classes),four climate(Bio04,Bio05,Bio13 and Bio14)and four agricultural management variables(grove-use history less than 10 years,irrigation,apricot seedling rootstock,and Montclar rootstock)were identified as the most influential variables driving spatial patterns of PPNs *** particular,younger plantations showed higher values for species richness and diversity indices than groves cultivated for more than 20 years with Prunus *** study increases the knowledge of the distribution and prevalence of PPNs associated with Prunus rhizosphere,as well as on the influence of explanatory variables driving the spatial structure PPNs communities,which has important implications for the successful design of sustainable management strategies in the future in this agricultural system.

The management of network intelligence in Beyond 5G(B5G)networks encompasses the complex challenges of scalability,dynamicity,interoperability,privacy,and *** are essential steps towards achieving the realization of truly ubiquitous Artificial Intelligence(AI)-based analytics,empowering seamless integration across the entire Continuum(Edge,Fog,Core,Cloud).This paper introduces a Federated Network Intelligence Orchestration approach aimed at scalable and automated Federated Learning(FL)-based anomaly detection in *** leveraging a horizontal Federated learning approach based on the FedAvg aggregation algorithm,which employs a deep autoencoder model trained on non-anomalous traffic samples to recognize normal behavior,the systemorchestrates network intelligence to detect and prevent *** into a B5G Zero-touch Service Management(ZSM)aligned Security Framework,the proposal utilizes multi-domain and multi-tenant orchestration to automate and scale the deployment of FL-agents and AI-based anomaly detectors,enhancing reaction capabilities against *** proposed FL architecture can be dynamically deployed across the B5G Continuum,utilizing a hierarchy of Network Intelligence orchestrators for real-time anomaly and security threat *** includes FL enforcement operations for interoperability and extensibility,enabling dynamic deployment,configuration,and reconfiguration on *** validation of the proposed solution was conducted through dynamic orchestration,FL,and real-time anomaly detection processes using a practical test *** of key performance metrics,leveraging the 5G-NIDD dataset,demonstrates the system’s capability for automatic and near real-time handling of anomalies and attacks,including real-time network monitoring and countermeasure implementation for mitigation.

Sharing sensitive data is a specific challenge for research infrastructures in the field of life sciences. For that reason a toolbox has been developed, providing resources for researchers who wish to share and use sensitive data, to support the workflows for handling these kinds of digital objects. Common and community approved annotations are required to be compliant with FAIR principles(Findability, Accessibility,Interoperability, Reusability). The toolbox makes use of a tagging(categorisation) system, allowing consistent labelling and categorisation of digital objects, in terms relevant to data sharing tasks and activities. A pilot study was performed within the Horizon 2020 project EOSC-Life, in which 2 experts from 6 life sciences research infrastructures were recruited to independently assign tags to the same set of 10 to 25 resources related to sensitive data management and data sharing(in total 110). Summary statistics of agreement and observer variation per research infrastructure are provided. The pilot study has shown that experts were able to attribute tags but in most cases with a considerable observer variation between experts. In the context of CWFR(Canonical Workflow Frameworks for Research), this indicates the necessity for careful definition,evaluation and validation of parameters and processes related to workflow descriptions. The results from this pilot study were used to tackle this issue by revising the categorisation system and providing an updated version.

In this paper, a system of Lorenz-type ordinary differential equations is considered and, under some assumptions about the parameter space, the presence of the supercritical non-degenerate Hopf bifurcation is demonstrated. The technical tool used consists of the Central Manifold theorem, a well-known formula to calculate the Lyapunov coefficient and Hopf’s Theorem. For particular values of the parameters in the parameter space established in the main result of this work, a graph is presented that describes the evolution of the trajectories, obtained by means of numerical simulation.

This paper shows a comparative analysis of theoretical model for biogas estimations in landfill sites in order to determine reliability, accuracy and efficiency by comparing results with actual data obtained in-situ. The model from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Mexican model were selected to estimate biogas generation in a landfill site located in the State of Mexico, Mexico with 36 wells. Both models are based on a first order equation for degradation of organic matter assuming that the biogas generation reaches its maximum after a period of time and then biogas generation decreases exponentially while the organic fraction of waste is consumed. Measurement in-situ, using a landfill gas analyser (GA5000), resulted in values of percentage concentration of landfill gas (CH4, CO2 and O2) with an average Frequency of 35.44 Hz (1/s) and emissions of methane of 3355.99 m3/hr in contrast with 4885.74 m3/hr from EPA model and 6780.56 m3/hr from Mexican model. The experiment evidenced significant variations in estimations versus actual measurements. Authors discuss the aspects and parameters that cause such variations in order to provide a comprehensive analysis which will help decision makers to base waste management strategies in Mexico on reliable data.

Oryza sativa and Luziola peruviana present a diploid chromosome number of 2n = 24 and basic number x = 12, confirmed by means metaphase chromosomes counts in young root tips of these species. Hybrid plants O. sativa × L. peruviana, with 2n = 24 chromosomes are originated from simple crosses and present abnormalities in the meiotic behavior, chromosomal aberrations and cytological alteration. This genetic incompatibility is caused by different factors as absence of pairing and recombination, different spindles arrangements, cytoskeleton instability, apoptosis process and chromosomal elimination, leading to micronuclei formation, unbalanced gametes and sterile pollen grains. The chromosome elimination is established as a dynamic process of stabilization of the genome that occurs during hybridization. It is a common phenomenon among intergeneric crosses and corresponds to cytoplasmic and nuclear bodies that reflect chromosomal aberrations resulting from the combination of two genomes with high genetic distance. The genomic conflict occurs in meiosis, possibly by asynchronism and cell cycle length of the genomes involved, or by time differences in replication between parental species leading to strand breaks and genomic rearrangements.

Role of robotic-assisted pancreatic surgery:lessons learned from our initial experience

BACKGROUND:Minimally invasive surgery has achieved worldwide acceptance in various fields, however, pancreatic surgery remains one of the most challenging abdominal procedures. In fact, the indication for robotic surgery in pancreatic disease has been controversial. The present study aimed to assess the safety and feasibility of robotic pancreatic ***:We retrospectively reviewed our experience of robotic pancreatic resection done in Sanchinarro University Hospital. Clinicopathologic characteristics, and perioperative and postoperative outcomes were recorded and ***:From October 2010 to April 2016, 50 patients underwent robotic-assisted surgery for different pancreatic pathologies. All procedures were performed using the da Vinci robotic system. Of the 50 patients, 26 were male and 24 female. The average age of all patients was 62 years. Operative time was 370 minutes. Among the procedures performed were 16 pancreaticoduodenectomies(PD), 23 distal pancreatectomies(DP), 11 tumor enucleations(TE). The mean hospital stay was 17.6 days in PD group, 9.0 days in DP group and 8.4 days in TE group. Pancreatic fistula occurred in 10 cases(20%), 2 after PD, 3 after DP, and 5 after TE. Four patients had postoperative transfusion in PD group and one in DP group. Conversion to open laparotomy occurred in four patients(8%). No serious intraoperative complications were observed. CONCLUSIONS:From our early experience, robotic pancreatic surgery is a safe and feasible procedure. Further experience and follow-up are required to confirm the role of robotic approach in pancreatic surgery.

Background:Pancreas divisum is a congenital embryological disease caused by a lack of fusion between the ventral and dorsal pancreatic ducts in the early stages of *** acute pancreatitis,chronic pancreatitis or chronic abdominal pain are the main clinical syndromes at presentation and occur in only 5%of the patients with pancreas *** review aimed to discuss diagnosis and treatment strategies in patients with symptomatic pancreas *** sources:We report a literature review from 1990 up to January 2018 to explore the various diagnostic modalities and surgical techniques and results reported in the surgical treatment of pancreas ***:There are limited reports available on this topic in the *** analyzed and described the main indications in the treatment of pancreas divisum,focusing on surgical treatment and a discussion of the different ***,we report the results from our experience in two cases of pancreas divisum treated by pancreatic head resection with segmental duodenectomy(the Nakao procedure).Conclusions:Pancreas divisum is a common pancreatic malformation in which only a few patients develop a symptomatic *** treatment is needed in case of endoscopic drainage failure and in cases complicated with chronic pancreatitis and local *** techniques,of greater or lesser complexity,have been proposed.
