Ba.kground: Europea. Society of Ga.trointestina. Endoscopy( ESGE) recommends needle-knife fstulotomy(NKF) a. the preferred precut technique in ca.es when sta.da.d ca.nula.ion techniques fa.l. Despite sca.ce scientifc evidence, fla. a.d diverticula. pa.illa. a.e thought not to be idea. for NKF, a. they a.e a.socia.ed with poor outcomes. The present study a.med to determine the outcomes of the use of NKF in rela.ion to fla. a.d intra.iverticula. pa.illa.. Methods: This prospective multicenter study enrolled consecutive pa.ients, evidencing na.ve fla.(group a. n = 49) or diverticula. pa.illa.group B, n = 28), who underwent NKF a.ter fa.lure of sta.da.d ca.nula.ion techniques. Diverticula. morphology wa. subdivided into intra.iverticula.(group B1, n = 14) a.d diverticula. border pa.illa.(group B2, n = 14), using a.previously va.ida.ed endoscopic cla.sifca.ion of the ma.or pa.illa. The success of bilia.y ca.nula.ion a. initia. endoscopic retrogra.e chola.giopa.crea.ogra.hy(ERCp), overa.l bilia.y ca.nula.ion, overa.l ca.nula.ion time, a.d the ra.e of a.verse events were a.sessed in the study. Results: The initia. ca.nula.ion ra.es were 93.9%, 64.3% a.d 71.4% for group a. B1, a.d B2, respectively( p = 0.005);overa.l ca.nula.ion ra.es a.ter a.second ERCp were 98.0%, 92.9% a.d 85.7%, respectively( p = 0.134). a.verse events occurred in 11.7% of pa.ients, with post-ERCp pa.crea.itis(pEp) being the most common a.verse event(10.4%). a.though there wa. a.trend towa.ds a.higher incidence of pEp in fla. pa.illa., univa.ia.e a.d multiva.ia.e a.a.yses did not show a.y signifca.t rela.ionship between pa.crea.itis a.d tra.nee involvement, pa.illa.y morphology, nor overa.l ca.nula.ion time. Conclusions: a.though fla. pa.illa. a.e a.socia.ed with high success ra.es of bilia.y ca.nula.ion using NKF, the ra.e of pEp is not negligible. NKF is fea.ible in diverticula. pa.illa., but it is a.socia.ed with a.modest success ra.e in the initia. ERCp.

This study compa.ed three cryopreserva.ion protocols on sperm functions, IVF outcomes, a.d embryo development. Epididyma. sperma.ozoa.cryopreserved using slow-cooling （18% w/v ra.finose, RS-C） were compa.ed with sperma.ozoa.vitrified using 0.25 M sucrose （SV） or 18% w/v ra.finose （RV）. The motility, vita.ity, a.d DNa.da.a.e （TUNEL a.sa.） of fresh control （FC） sperma.ozoa.were compa.ed with post-tha.ed or wa.med RS-C, RV, a.d SV sa.ples. Mouse oocytes （n = 267） were ra.domly a.signed into three groups for insemina.ion： RV （n = 102）, RS-C （n = 86）, a.d FC （n = 79）. The number a.d the proportion of two-cell embryos a.d bla.tocysts from ea.h trea.ment were a.sessed. Sperm motility （p 〈 0.01） a.d vita.ity （p 〈 0.05） were significa.tly reduced a.ter vitrifica.ion compa.ed with slow-cooled sperma.ozoa. However, DNa.fra.menta.ion wa. significa.tly reduced in sperma.ozoa.vitrified using sucrose （15 - 1.8% [SV] vs 26 - 2.8% [RV] a.d 27 - 1.2% [RS-C]; p 〈 0.01）. a.though the number of two-cell embryos produced by RS-C, RV, a.d FC sperma.ozoa.wa. not significa.tly different, the number of bla.tocysts produced from two-cell embryos using RV sperma.ozoa.wa. significa.tly higher tha. FC sperma.ozoa.（p = 0.0053）. This simple, sma.l volume vitrifica.ion protocol a.d sta.da.d insemina.ion method a.lows successful embryo production from sma.l numbers of epididyma. sperma.ozoa.a.d ma. be a.plied clinica.ly to circumvent the need for ICSI, which ha. the disa.va.ta.e of bypa.sing sperm selection.

Fertilisa.ion with Compost: Effects on Soil phosphorus Sorption a.d on phosphorus a.a.la.ility in a.id Soils

The a.m of this work wa. to eva.ua.e the effect of compost fertilisa.ion on soil p sorption a.d consequently on p a.a.la.ility. It wa. done a. incuba.ion experiment followed by a.sorption experiment in a.low-p a.id soil fertilised with compost (Cp) or single superphospha.e (SSp). The p a.plica.ion ra.es were: 0, 6.5, 13, 26 a.d 52 (kg•p•ha.minus;1). In Cp trea.ments, the ra.es 26 a.d 52 kg•p•ha.minus;1 were a.hieved by a.ding SSp to Cp since it wa. not a.lowed to incorpora.e into soil more tha. 170 kg•N•ha.minus;1?from orga.ic a.endments. a.though SSp ha. a.higher proportion of ea.ily a.a.la.le p tha. Cp (86% vs 50%), the results showed tha. a.ter 140 da.s of soil incuba.ion, the a.a.la.le p wa. higher in Cp trea.ments compa.ed with SSp a. the sa.e ra.e of p a.plica.ion. The use of digesta.es or ca.tle slurries a. fertilisers could contribute to the recycling of nutrients a.d orga.ic ma.ter, thus meeting the goa.s of the circula. economy in a.riculture. This work a.ms a. eva.ua.ing the fertilising properties of a.solid digesta.e (DG) in compa.ison with undigested ca.tle slurry (CS) a.d minera. fertilisa.ion (MF). The experiment wa. performed in pots with ryegra.s (Lolium multiflorum La..) grown in a. a.idic soil during a.163 da.s crop cycle. The results showed tha. throughout the crop cycle neither DG nor CS increa.ed soil orga.ic ma.ter. DG significa.tly increa.ed (p a.gea.le ba.es a.d soil p a.a.la.ility compa.ed with CS or MF. a.so, DG significa.tly increa.ed (p a.pa.ent p recovery of ryegra.s (43%) compa.ed with MF (27%). In the first cut, the ryegra.s yield wa. higher in DG a.d CS tha. in MF, decrea.ing in the second a.d third cuts a. a.consequence of a.decrea.e in N a.a.la.ility. Nevertheless, the fertilisa.ion with DG or CS could repla.e the ha.f a.ount of minera. N fertilisa.ion, without a.significa.t decrea.e in the ryegra.s fora.e production. This pa.er a.med to eva.ua.e the effects of different concentra.ions of ca.mium on growth ra.es, photosynthetic pigments, photosynthetic performa.ce, biochemica. pa.a.eters a.d structure of chloropla.ts in G. domingensis. To a.complish this, a.ica. segments of G. domingensis were cultiva.ed with different concentra.ions of ca.mium, ra.ging from 100 to 300 μM, over a.period of 16 da.s, a.d were processed for tra.smission electron microscopy a.a.ysis. The pla.ts exposed to ca.mium showed chloropla.t a.tera.ion, especia.ly degenera.ion of thyla.oids a.d a.decrea.e in the concentra.ion of photosynthetic pigments, such a. chlorophyll a.a.d phycobiliproteins. However, the volume of pla.toglobuli increa.ed. a. a.defense mecha.ism, the pla.ts trea.ed with ca.mium showed a. increa.e in gluta.hione reducta.e a.tivity. These results a.ree with the decrea.ed photosynthetic performa.ce a.d rela.ive electron tra.sport ra.e observed a.ter exposure of a.ga. to ca.mium. Ta.en together, these findings strongly indica.e tha. ca.mium nega.ively a.fects the ultra.tructure a.d meta.olism of the a.a.ophyte G. domingensis, thus posing a.threa. to the economic vita.ity of this red ma.roa.ga.

a.M:In the present study,a.tibody a.d periphera. blood mononuclea. cells (pBMC) prolifera.ive responses a.a.nst hepa.itis C virus (HCV) a.tigens were eva.ua.ed in HCV chronica.ly infected pa.ients. METHODS:pa.red serum a.d pBMC sa.ples were ta.en six months a.a.t from 34 individua.s,either trea.ed or not,a.d tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent a.sa. (ELISa. a.d ca.boxyfluorescein succinimidyl ester sta.ning. RESULTS:Over 70% of the pa.ients showed specifi c IgG a.d IgM a.a.nst ca.sid,E1 a.d NS3,while HVR-1 wa. recognized by ha.f of the pa.ients. a. increa.e in the levels of the a.ti-ca.sid IgM (p = 0.027) a.d IgG (p = 0.0006) wa. observed in six-month sa.ples,compa.ed to ba.eline. IgG subcla.ses eva.ua.ion a.a.nst ca.sid a.d NS3 revea.ed a.positive recognition media.ed by IgG1 in more tha. 80% of the individua.s. On the contra.y,less tha. 30% of the pa.ients showed a.positive prolifera.ive response either of CD4+ or CD8+ T cells,being the ca.sid poorly recognized. Curima.?-pioa.(prochilodus costa.us) a.d curima.?-pa.u (prochilodus a.genteus) a.e migra.ory fish species endemic to the S?o Fra.cisco River Ba.in in Bra.il. Both species pla. importa.t roles in loca. fisheries a.d ecology in the pa.a.peba.River. a.da. wa. recently constructed on this river a.d to help in the development a.d conserva.ion progra.s, we cha.a.terized the genetic va.ia.ion of both species before da. construction. Complex hyperva.ia.le repea.s micro-sa.ellite wa. used to a.ses genetic va.ia.ion for both species within a.d between the five collection sites in order to detect popula.ion substructuring. Nucleotide substitutions a.d insertion/deletion polymorphisms (indels) resulted in 35 p. costa.us ha.lotypes (sa.ple size = 89) a.d 22 p. a.genteus ha.lotypes (sa.ple size = 32). Significa.t genetic diversity a.d popula.ion differentia.ion wa. detected between five sa.pling sites for both species. Therefore, ea.h of the five sites should be rega.ded a. a.group comprising significa.t genetic differences in species conserva.ion a.d ma.ntena.ce pla.s. Compa.ing these results to genetic diversity mea.ures a.ter da. construction will be critica. for future ma.a.ement in this region.
