The present study is concerned with the isolation and screening of different strains of Aspergillus oryzae for the production of alpha amylase. Ninety strains were isolated from soil and tested for the production of alpha amylase in shake flasks. Of all the strains tested, Aspergillus oryzae GCB-32 and Aspergillus oryzae GCB-35 gave maximum production of alpha amylase. Different culture media were screened for the production of alpha amylase by these two strains. m1 medium containing starch, yeast extract, NH4Cl, mgSO4·7H2O and CaCl2 gave the maximum production of alpha amylase by both the strains Aspergillus oryzae GCB-32 and Aspergillus oryzae *** analysis revealed that the values of product yield coefficient（Y p/x ） and specific product yield coefficient（qp） were found highly significant（p≤0.05） when medium m1 was used for the enzyme production.

Carbonate pedofeatures (Cps) in a chronosequence of paleosols buried under kurgans in the Northern Caucasus region of Russia in a period from the end of the 4th to the middle of the 5th centuries AD (It seams that there is no time left) were studied by using a set of morphological and isotopic methods. The Cps in chernozem-type soils of Russia are usually represented by crystallomorphic calcite whereas the non-segregated carbonates occurred at the same horizons-by collomorphic one. Those two morphotypes of calcite have the differences in elemental composition and isotopic composition of carbon and, hence, should have different origins-from true and colloidal solutions, respectively. The same differences including radiocarbon age have been revealed for pseudomycelium of the ABca horizon of the youngest paleosols as compared with the same Cps of other paleosols in the chronosequence studied. Our assumption is that it was succeeded in finding that the pseudomycelium right away after its precipitation from a colloidal solution migrated from the lower soil horizons to the surface horizons during the periods of climatic aridization. After a short time interval (not more than 25-50 years) collomorphic calcite in the pseudomicelium of the yongest paleosols mentioned above will likely become by "usual" acicular calcite.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common disorders of metabolic abnormalities. It is characterized by hyperglycemia followed by abnormalities in insulin release, insulin work, or both. This persistent hyperglycemia is concerned with long-term complications, dysfunction and collapse of various organs, notoriously the kidneys, heart, nerves, blood vessels and eyes. The seeds of the Carthamus oxycantha have been used by the practitioners as a traditional remedy for diabetes mellitus in the rural areas of district Jhang as well as other areas of pakistan. Aim of the Study: The purpose of the present study was to reveal the antidiabetic capability of seeds of Carthamus oxycantha in short-term and long-term studies. materials and methods: Aqueous ethanolic extract of seeds was prepared by a rotary evaporator. The antidiabetic activity of the seeds was assessed by using normoglycemic and glucose loaded rats. However, two kinds of studies i.e. short-term as well as long-term treatment were carried out in alloxan induced diabetic rats for the finalized both doses i.e. 50 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg. Blood samples were tested by an electrochemical technique using a glucometer. Results: The promising results were achieved for the antidiabetic potential of the ethanolic extract of seeds of Carthamus oxycantha at both of the doses i.e. 50 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg. The antihyperglycemic potential was also evaluated in normoglycemic and glucose loaded animals. Treatment with 100 mg/kg AEECO presented significant reduction (p p m and long term study. Statistical data showed that AEECO presented comparable effects to that of the standard drug Glibenclamide at 0.5 mg/kg. phytochemical studies of AEECO also disclosed the presence of flavonoids, resins, glycosides, steroids and alkaloids. Hierarchical single-crystal ZSm-5 zeolites with different Si/Al ratios(Hier-ZSm-5-x,where x=50,100,150 and 200)were synthesized using an ordered mesoporous carbon-silica composite as hard ***-ZSm-5-x exhibits improved mass transport properties,excellent mechanical and hydrothermal stability,and higher catalytic activity than commercial bulk zeolites in the benzyl alcohol self-etherification *** show that a decrease in the Si/Al ratio in hierarchical single-crystal ZSm-5 zeolites leads to a significant increase in the acidity and the density of micropores,which increases the final catalytic *** effect of porous hierarchy on the diffusion of active sites and the final catalytic activity was also studied by comparing the catalytic conversion after selectively designed poisoned acid *** poisoned Hier-ZSm-5-x shows much higher catalytic conversion than the poisoned commercial ZSm-5 zeolite,which indicates that the numerous intracrystalline mesopores significantly reduce the diffusion path of the reactant,leading to the faster diffusion inside the zeolite to contact with the acid sites in the micropores predominating in ZSm-5 *** study can be extended to develop a series of hierarchical single-crystal zeolites with expected catalytic performance.

Objective: To discover the mechanism behind ameliorative effects of michelia champaca(m. champaca) in gastrointestinal, respiratory and cardiovascular disorders. methods: Antispasmodic potential was evaluated by trying the m. champaca extract(aqueous:ethanolic) on rabbit aorta, trachea and jejunum in vitro. Isotonic and isometric transducers coupled with power Lab data acquisition system was used to record the responses of isolated tissues. Results: m. champaca extract relaxed the spontaneous and high K^+(80 mmol/L)-induced contractions of isolated jejunum preparation of rabbit showing a Ca^(2+) channel blocking mechanism. moreover, extract shifted calcium concentration response curves towards right like standard calcium channel blocker verapamil. In rabbit tracheal preparation, m. champaca relaxed both carbachol(1 μmol/L) and high K^+-induced contractions, likewise verapamil. In rabbit aorta preparation, m. champaca relaxed phenylephrine(1 μmol/L) and high K^+-induced contractions similar to verapamil. Conclusion: m. champaca possesses spasmolytic, airways relaxant and vasodilator actions mediated perhaps due to blocking of Ca^(2+) channels, hence validating its therapeutic usage in diarrhea, asthma and hypertension.

To investigate the hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwater 23 shallow, 30 intermediate and 38 deep wells samples were collected from Sylhet district of Bangladesh, and analyzed for temperature, pH, Eh, EC,DO, DOC, Na^+, K^+, Ca^(2+), mg^(2+), Cl^-, SO_4^(2-), NO_3^-,HCO_3^-, SiO_2^-, Fe, mn and As. Besides, 12 surface water samples from Surma and Kushiyara Rivers were also collected and analyzed to understand the influence into aquifers. Results revealed that, most of the groundwater samples are acidic in nature, and Na–HCO_3 is the dominant groundwater type. The mean value of temperature, EC,Na^+, K^+, Ca^(2+), mg^(2+), Cl^-, NO_3^- and SO_4^(2-) were found within the range of permissible limits, while most of the samples exceeds the allowable limits of Fe, mn and As concentrations. However, relatively higher concentration of Fe and mn were found in deep water samples and reverse trend was found in case of As. The mean concentrations of As in shallow, intermediate and deep wells were 39.3, 25.3and 21.4 lg/L respectively, which varied from 0.03 to148 lg/L. From spatial distribution, it was found that Fe,mn and As concentrations are high but patchy in northern,north-western, and south-western part of Sylhet region. The most influential geochemical process in study area were identified as silicate weathering, characterized by active cation exchange process and carbonate weathering, which thereby can enhance the elemental concentrations in groundwater. pearson's correlation matrix, principal component analysis and cluster analysis were also employed to evaluate the controlling factors, and it was found that, both natural and anthropogenic sources were influencing the groundwater chemistry of the aquifers. However, surface water has no significant role to contaminate the aquifers,rather geogenic factors affecting the trace elemental contamination. Intracap.ular fracture of femoral neck is treated by anatomical reduction (preferably closed) and cannulated cancellous lag screw fixation. malunion of these fractures have been described in the coronal plane (coxa valga or coxa vara). We reported a case of young adult patient with displaced intracap.ular fracture of femoral neck that had malunited in sagittal plane with callus formation with excellent functional outcome. The radiographs revealed intracap.ular fracture of femoral neck right side (Garden type 4 and pauwel type 3). The patient was operated and closed reduction and internal fixation with three cannulated cancellous screws was performed. The postoperative radiograph revealed a loss of reduction in the lateral view. Due to this technical error, the patient was counselled for revision fixation for which he refused. At 9 months we observed union of the fracture in the displaced position by callus formation. Harris hip score at 2 years was 96 that indicate excellent functional outcome and the radiographs did not reveal any evidence of avascular necrosis of femoral head. We advised revision surgery to our patient as he had increased chances of implant failure and nonunion. However he refused the revision surgery and was continued with the suboptimal reduction. However, the fracture united and that too with callus formation, which is not a described phenomenon in neck of femur fracture.

Soil salinity affects the growth and yield of *** stress of soil salinity on plants can be mitigated by inoculation of plant growth promoting bacteria(pGpR).The influence of pGpR inoculation on wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)crop productivity under salinity stress has not been properly addressed so ***,the present study was conducted to investigate the effects of various pGpR strains(W14,W10 and 6K;alone and combined)at several growth attributes of wheat plant under different soil salinity gradients(3,6 and 9 dS m-1).The growth attributes of wheat(height,roots,shoots,spikes,grains quality,biological and economical yield,nutrients nitrogen,phosphorus and potassium in grains)were highly affected by salinity and decreased with increasing salinity *** pGpR inoculation substantially promoted growth attributes of wheat and prominent results were observed in W14×W10×6K treatment at all salinity *** results suggest that inoculation of pGpR is a potential strategy to mitigate salinity stress for improving wheat growth and yield.

A number of companies have employed Global Software Development (GSD) methodology as a useful tool for their software development practices. GSD is a contractual relationship between client and vendor organizations in which a client outsources all or some part of its software development activities to a vendor. The vendor in return provides the agreed services in lieu of certain amount of remuneration. The main reasons to select the GSD technique include reduced cost, faster development and access to skilled manpower. Though GSD is emerging as an effective technique, but it suffers from many challenges like poor communication, lack of trust and coordination. These challenges pose serious risk to the smooth execution of the GSD projects. In this paper, we present a comparative study on GSD to highlight its merits and demerits. Our findings reveal that much of the research in this area has been focused on addressing issues faced by client organizations, however, vendor side in the GSD relationship is much ignored due to which this area is still immature;and, hence, further research work is required to be undertaken to address the issues faced by the vendor organizations.
