a.5454-O a.uminum a.loy pla.es with thicknesses of 1.4 a.d 1.0 mm were friction-stir-lap-welded (FSLWed).The influences of the tool plunge depth a.d welding dista.ce on surfa.e a.pea.a.ce,ma.rostructure a.d mecha.ica. properties of the FSLWed pla.es were experimenta.ly *** tensile shea. loa. of the FSLWed pla.es wa. compa.ed with tha. of the a.hesive-bonded ***-free FSLWed zones were successfully obta.ned in a.l the tool plunge depths a.d the welding *** FSLWed zones exhibited the rela.ively smooth surfa.e *** a.l the FSLWed conditions,the FSLWed zone exhibited higher a.era.e ha.dness tha. the ba.e *** a.dition,the upper pla.e exhibited a.higher a.era.e ha.dness tha. the lower pla.e,a.though there wa. no specia. tendency in spite of the cha.ge in the tool plunge depth a.d the welding *** ma.imum tensile shea. loa. of the FSLWed pla.es wa. much higher tha. tha. of the a.hesive-bonded a.uminum a.loy ***,under the FSLW condition of the plunge depth of 1.8 mm a.d the welding dista.ce of 40 mm,the tensile shea. loa. of the FSLWed pla.e rea.hed a.level a.out 41% grea.er tha. tha. of the a.hesive-bonded a.uminum a.loy *** a.dition,the ma.imum tensile shea. loa. of the FSLWed pla.e wa. increa.ed with the increa.e of the welding dista.ce.
