BACKGROUND The association of cardiovascular risk burden with disability is *** examined the association between trajectories of the Framingham general cardiovascular disease risk score(FGCRS)with the trajectories of limitations of physical function in older *** A total of 1219 participants with no disabilities from the International Mobility in Aging Study(IMIAS)study who had up to three repeated measures of FGCRS between 2012–2016 and without a history of stroke or coronary heart disease at baseline and follow-up were *** at baseline was assessed and categorized into *** function was evaluated with the Short physical performance Battery(SppB).The data were analyzed using linear mixed-effects *** At baseline,FGCRS ranged between 3–94(mean score:24±15.8),participants were 32(2.6%),502(41.2%)and 685(56.2%)in lowest,middle,and highest tertiles,*** the trajectories of limitations of physical function,the lowest FGCRS had no differences,while the middle and highest had a decrease in physical performance between 2012–2014(p=0.0001).Age,being female,living in Andes Mountains,having middle and highest FGCRS,higher alcohol consumption,being obese,lack of exercise and cognitive impairment increase the probability of disability(pped regions and having a higher educational level reduced the probability of disability during the follow-up time(pphysical performance,especially in *** suggest SppB may provide a measure of cardiovascular health in older adults.

Land use change and occupation have led to modifications in the environment causing loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services throughout the *** environments with high economic relevance,such as the ferruginous campo rupestre(rupestrian grassland known as Canga in Brazil),are even more susceptible to severe impacts due to their extreme habitat conditions and low *** determination of reference ecosystems based on the intrinsic characteristics of the ecosystem is essential for conservation as well as to the implementation of ecological *** proposed the reference ecosystem of the three main types of habitats of the ferruginous campo rupestre based on their floristic *** described the floristic composition of each habitat and evaluated the physicochemical properties of the soils and the relationship between plants and *** three habitats showed high diversity of plant species and many endemic species,such as Chamaecrista choriophylla,Cuphea pseudovaccinium,Lychnophora pinaster,and Vellozia *** distribution of vegetation was strongly related with the edaphic characteristics,with a set of species more adapted to high concentration of base saturation,fine sand,organic carbon,and iron,while another set of species succeeded in more acidic soils with higher S and silt *** provide support for the contention that the ferruginous campo rupestre is a mosaic of different habitats shaped by intrinsic local *** to recognize the floristic composition of each particular habitat can lead to inappropriate restoration,increased habitat homogenization and increased loss of biodiversity and ecosystem *** study also advances the knowledge base for building the reference ecosystem for the different types of ferruginous campo rupestre habitats,as well as a key database for highlighting those species contribute most to community assembly in this diverse and threatened tropical mountain ecosystem.

Introduction In Brazil,approximately 5%are born with a congenital disorder,potentially fatal without *** study aims to evaluate the relationship between gastrointestinal congenital malformation(GICM)mortality,health indicators,and socioeconomic factors in *** GICM admissions(Q39-Q45)between 2012 and 2019 were collected using national *** demographics,socioeconomic factors,clinical management,outcomes,and the healthcare workforce density were also accounted *** Surgical Workforce density and the number of neonatal intensive care units in a region were extracted from national datasets and combined to create a clinical index termed'NeoSurg'.Socioeconomic variables were combined to create a socioeconomic index termed SocEcon'.Simple linear regression was used to investigate if the temporal changes of both indexes were *** correlation between mortality and the different indicators in Brazil was evaluated using pearson's correlation *** Over 8 years,Brazil recorded 12804 GICM *** Southeast led with 6147 cases,followed by the Northeast(2660),South(1727),North(1427),and Midwest(843).The North and Northeast reported the highest mortality,lowest NeoSurg,and SocEcon Index ***,mortality rates declined across regions from 7.7%(2012)to 3.9%(2019),a 51.7%*** North and Midwest experienced the most substantial reductions,at 63%and 75%,*** significantly correlated with the indexes in nearly all regions(ppediatric *** findings provide an opportunity to rethink and discuss new indicators that could enhance our understanding of our country and could lead to the development of necessary solutions to tackle existing challenges in Brazil and globally.

BACKGROUND In patients with metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC),the treatment options are limited and have been proved to be affected by rat sarcoma virus(RAS)mutational *** RAS wild-type(wt)patients,the combination of antiepidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)monoclonal antibodies with chemotherapy(CT)is more effective than CT *** the other hand,RAS-mutated patients are not eligible for treatment with anti-EGFR *** SUMMARY Eleven patients with initially RAS-mutated mCRC were followed from diagnosis to May *** the time of cell-free DNA determination,five patients had undergone one CT line,five patients had undergone two CT lines,and one patient had undergone three CT lines(all in combination with bevacizumab).At the second and third treatment lines[second line(2L),third line(3L)],patients with neo-RAS wt received a combination of CT and *** neo-RAS wt patients treated with anti-EGFR,our findings indicated an increase in progression-free survival for both 2L and 3L(14.5 mo,p=0.119 and 3.9 mo,p=0.882,respectively).Regarding 2L overall survival,we registered a slight increase in neo-RAS wt patients treated with anti-EGFR(33.6 mo vs 32.4 mo,p=0.385).At data cut-off,two patients were still alive:A RAS-mutated patient undergoing 3L treatment and a neo-RAS wt patient who received 2L treatment with anti-EGFR(ongoing).CONCLUSION Our case series demonstrated that monitoring RAS mutations in mCRC by liquid biopsy may provide an additional treatment line for neo-RAS wt patients.

Needle chlorosis(NC)in pinus taeda *** in Brazil becomes more frequent after second and third harvest rotation *** a study to identify factors contributing to yellowing needle chorosis(YNC),trees were grown in soils originating from contrasting parent materials,and soils and needles(whole,green and chlorotic portions)from 1-and 2-year-old branches and the first and second needle flush release at four sites with YNC on *** were analyzed for various elements and *** soils had very low base levels(Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+)and K^(+))and p,suggesting a possible lack of multiple *** symptoms started at needle tips,then extended toward the needle base with *** flush needles had longer portions with YNC than second flush needles *** from the lower crown also had more symptoms along their length than those higher in the *** were similar to those reported for *** chlorotic portions,Mg and Ca concentrations were well below critical values;in particular,Mg levels were only one third of the critical value of 0.3 g kg^(-1).Collectively,results suggest that Mg deficiency is the primary reason for NC of *** in various parent soils in Brazil.

Cancer is a global problem that in addition to physical, emotional and physiological causes economic and social impacts. The p53 gene is a tumor suppressor gene found in many malignant and benign tumors;this has the primary function of keeping cells at rest after damaging to DNA. The p53 acts in the maintenance of cellular homeostasis, mainly through autophagy, playing a role in cell cycle arrest, when necessary, thus avoiding mutated DNA replication. When in the oncogenic environment in many cases it is mutated, losing much of its efficiency allowing tumor development. Studies show that exercise can in the regular part of its pro-autophagic function even in the oncology setting. Stimuli of moderate-intensity aerobic and predominance of submaximal seem to trigger the protective function of p53 in various cancer settings. Among the many changes that these pathology triggers were the objective of this mini review is to relate the changes that exercise generates in p53 protein functions and their possible influence on tumor cells.

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia presenting as Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: Experience from Bangladesh

Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common paediatric malignancy, is a heterogeneous hematologic disease. ALL patients may present with isolated and persistent osteo-articular complaints, lower incidence of hepatomegaly, splenomegaly or lymphadenopathy without clear laboratory features, and misdiagnosed as systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA). Methods: This was a single center cross sectional study over a period of 4 years. Clinic laboratory profiles of 39 ALL children were compared with 39 age and sex-matched sJIA cases. Result: Among 39 ALL patients 89.7% were initially misdiagnosed as sJIA upon clinical presentation. Majority (66.7%) of ALL patients had oligo-articular joint involvement. In sJIA, small joints of the hands were most commonly involved. The total WBC count was significantly higher in ALL patients (p-value 0.0065). CRp and LDH values between the two groups showed significant differences (p-value 0.00006 and 0.00001 respectively). Conclusion: The presentation of leukemia with arthralgia or arthritis makes the diagnosis difficult for the physicians. The diagnosis of sJIA must be made with caution keeping the possibility of haematological malignancy in mind.
