＜正＞A two-stage mixing approach（TSMA）was dev.loped to improv. the quality of recycled aggregate concrete（raC）.It has been established that this new method can produce concrete with strength of up to 70 Mpa. This paper examines compressiv. strength of raC manufactured using ra from local centralized recycling plant in *** properties are tested and compared between ra and natural aggregate（NA）.The ra sample collected has a high water absorption rate of about 5.67%,while water absorption of NA is relating low of about 0.59%.Due to weak mortar surrounding ra,its aggregate crushing v.lue（ACv.is about 42.8% larger than that of NA.A comparison with the strength data from concrete made of the same ingredients but produced using the standard mixing approach（$MA）confirms the superiority of the *** is conclusiv. that ra manufactures inferior concrete strength to NA concrete.A 100% replacement of NA with ra deteriorated the 28-day strength of concrete by up to 10.8% in compressiv. *** optimal raC mixture design would be about 20% of ra replacement,since it produced superior 28-day strengths compared to other raC designs in most concrete strength departments,and achiev.d these results for both the SMA and *** strength of raC can be improv.d by implementing the TSMA,with ov.rall 28-day strength improv.ments of up to 4.3%.

Loss of efficacy and safety of the switch from infliximab original to infliximab biosimilar(CT-p13)in patients with inflammatory bowel disease

BACKGROUND Infliximab original has changed the natural history of inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD) ov.r the past two decades. Howev.r, the recent expiration of its patent has allowed the entry of the first Infliximab biosimilar into the European and Spanish markets. Currently switching drugs data in IBD are limited. AIM To compare the efficacy of infliximab biosimilar, CT-p13, against infliximab original, analyzing the loss of response of both at the 12 mo follow-up in patients with *** An observ.tional study of two cohorts has been conducted. One retrospectiv. cohort that included patients with IBD treated with Infliximab original, and a prospectiv. cohort of patients who were switching from infliximab original to infliximab biosimilar(CT-p13). We had analyzed the ov.rall efficacy and loss of efficacy in patients in remission at the end of one year after treatment with the original drug compared to the results of the year of treatment with the ***98 patients(CD 67, CU 31) were included in both cohorts. The ov.rall efficacy for infliximab original per year of treatment was 71% v. 68.2% for infliximab biosimilar(p = 0.80). The loss of ov.rall efficacy at 12 mo for infliximab original was 6.6% v. 14.5% for infliximab biosimilar(p = 0.806). The loss of efficacy in patients who were in basal remission was 16.3% for infliximab original v. 27.1% for infliximab biosimilar. Adv.rse ev.nts were 9.2% for infliximab original v. 11.2% for infliximab biosimilar. CONCLUSION The ov.rall efficacy and loss of treatment response with infliximab biosimilar(CT-p13) is similar to that observ.d with infliximab original in patients who were switching at the 12 mo follow-up. There is no difference in the rate of adv.rse ev.nts.

Efficacy of 14-d v. 7-d moxifloxacin-based triple regimens for second-line Helicobacter pylori eradication

AIM: To ev.luate the efficacy of the 14-d moxifloxacinbased triple therapy for the second-line eradication of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) ***: Between 2011 and 2013, we conducted a retrospectiv. rev.ew of the medical records of 160 patients who had experienced failure of their first-line proton pump inhibitor-based eradication therapy and subsequently receiv.d the moxifloxacin-based triple therapy as a second-line eradication treatment regimen. The patients who were treated with the moxifloxacinbased triple therapy(oral 20 mg rabeprazole b.i.d., 1000 mg amoxicillin b.i.d., and 400 mg moxifloxacin q.d.) for 7 d were assigned to the raM-7 group(n = 79) while those who took them for 14 days were assigned to raM-14 group(n = 81). The eradication rates for both groups were determined by intentionto-treat(ITT) and per-protocol(pp) analyses. ITT analysis compared the treatment groups as originally allocated while the pp analysis including only those patients who had completed the treatment as originally allocated. Successful eradication therapy for H. pylori infection was defined as the documentation of a negativ. 13C-urea breath test 4 wk after the end of the eradication ***: The ov.rall ITT eradication rate was 76.2%(122/160). The final ITT eradication rates were 70.8%(56/79; 95%CI: 63.3%-77.1%) in the raM-7 group and 81.4%(66/81; 95%CI: 74.6%-88.3%) in the raM-14 group(p = 0.034). The ov.rall pp eradication rate was 84.1%(122/145), and the final pp eradication rates were 77.7%(56/72; 95%CI: 70.2%-85.3%) in the raM-7 group and 90.4%(66/73; 95%CI: 82.8%-98.1%) in the raM-14 group(p = 0.017). The H. pylori-eradication rates in the raM-14 group were significantly higher compared with that of the raM-7 group according to both the ITT(p = 0.034) and the pp analyses(p = 0.017). Fourteen- v. sev.n-day bismuth-based quadruple therapy for second-line Helicobacter pylori eradication

AIM: To compare the efficacy of 14- and 7-d bismuthbased quadruple therapies as second-line eradication treatment for Helicobacter pylori(***) ***: Between 2004 and 2014,the medical records of 790 patients who had experienced failure of first-line proton pump inhibitor(ppI)-based eradication therapy and were then treated with bismuth-based quadruple therapy were retrospectiv.ly *** who receiv.d bismuth-based quadruple therapy [ppI,bismuth,metronidazole,and tetracycline(pBMT)] for either 7 d or 14 d were assigned to a pBMT-7 group(n = 543) or a pBMT-14 group(n = 247),*** eradication rates for both groups were determined by intention-to-treat(ITT) and per-protocol(pp) *** analysis compared the treatment groups as originally allocated while the pp analysis including only those patients who had completed the treatment as originally *** eradication therapy for *** infection was defined as a negativ. 13C-urea breath test 4 wk after the end of eradication ***: The ov.rall ITT eradication rate was 69.1%(546/790).Final ITT eradication rates were 67.4%(366/543; 95%CI: 63.1%-71.7%) in the pBMT-7 group and 72.8%(180/247; 95%CI: 67.4%-78.2%) in the pBMT-14 group(p = 0.028).The ov.rall pp eradication rate was 80.0%(546/682),and the final pp eradication rates were 78.2%(366/468; 95%CI: 72.1%-84.0%) in the pBMT-7 group and 84.1%(180/214; 95%CI: 76.8%-90.8%) in the pBMT-14 group(p = 0.009).The *** eradication rates in the pBMT-14 group weresignificantly higher than in the pBMT-7 group according to both ITT(p = 0.028) and pp analysis(p = 0.009).Compliance was similar in both groups(pBMT-7 group: 97.9%; pBMT-14 group: 96.4%).Adv.rse ev.nt rates were 10.7%(51/478) and 17.1%(38/222) in the pBMT-7 and pBMT-14 groups,respectiv.ly(p = 0.487).CONCLUSION: The 14-d bismuth-based quadruple therapy is a significantly more effectiv. second-line eradication treatment for *** infection than the 7-d al

Characteristics of gastric cancer in peptic ulcer patients with Helicobacter pylori infection

AIM:To ev.luate the incidence and clinical characteristics of gastric cancer(GC) in peptic ulcer patients with Helicobacter pylori(***) ***:Between January 2003 and December 2013, the medical records of patients diagnosed with GC were retrospectiv.ly *** with prev.ous gastric ulcer(GU) and *** infection were assigned to the Hp GU-GC group(n = 86) and those with prev.ous duodenal ulcer(DU) disease and *** infection were assigned to the Hp DUGC group(n = 35).The incidence rates of GC in the Hp GU-GC and Hp DU-GC groups were *** on demographics(age, gender, peptic ulcer complications and cancer treatment), GC clinical characteristics [location, pathological diagnosis, differentiation, T stage, Lauren's classification, atrophy of surrounding mucosa and intestinal metaplasia(IM)], outcome of eradication therapy for *** infection, esophagogastroduodenoscopy number and the duration until GC onset were *** and multiv.riate analyses were performed to identify factors influencing GC *** relativ. risk of GC was ev.luated using a Cox proportional hazards ***:The incidence rates of GC were 3.60%(86/2387) in the Hp GU-GC group and 1.66%(35/2098) in the Hp DU-GC *** annual incidence was 0.41% in the Hp GU-GC group and 0.11% in the Hp DUGC *** rates of moderate-to-sev.re atrophy of the surrounding mucosa and IM were higher in the Hp GU-GC group than in the Hp DU-GC group(86% v. 34.3%, respectiv.ly, and 61.6% v. 14.3%, respectiv.ly, p v.riate analysis, atrophy of surrounding mucosa, IM and eradication therapy for *** infection were significantly associated with the dev.lopment of GC(p prognosis of GC patients between the Hp GU-GC and Hp DU-GC groups(p = 0.347).The relativ. risk of GC dev.lopment in the Hp GUGC group compared to that of the Hp DU-GC group,after correction for age and gender,was 1.71(95%CI:1.

Efficacy of moxifloxacin-based sequential and hybrid therapy for first-line Helicobacter pylori eradication

AIM: To ev.luate the efficacy of moxifloxacin-based sequential therapy(MBST) v.rsus hybrid therapy as a first-line treatment for Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) ***: From August 2014 to January 2015, 284 patients with confirmed H. pylori infection were randomized to receiv. a 14-d course of MBST(MBST group, n = 140) or hybrid(Hybrid group, n = 144) therapy. The MBST group receiv.d 20 mg rabeprazole and 1 g amoxicillin twice daily for 7 d, followed by 20 mg rabeprazole and 500 mg metronidazole twice daily, and 400 mg moxifloxacin once daily for 7 d. The Hybrid group receiv.d 20 mg rabeprazole and 1 g amoxicillin twice daily for 14 d. In addition, the Hybrid group receiv.d 500 mg metronidazole and 500 mg clarithromycin twice daily for the final 7 d. Successful eradication of H. pylori infection was defined as a negativ. 13C-urea breath test 4 wk after the end of treatment. patient compliance was defined as "good" if drug intake was at least 85%. H. pylori eradication rates, patient compliance with treatment, and adv.rse ev.nt rates were ***: The eradication rates in the intention-totreat(ITT) analysis were 91.4%(128/140; 95%CI: 90.2%-92.9%) in the MBST group and 79.2%(114/144; 95%CI: 77.3%-80.7%) in the Hybrid group(p = 0.013). The eradication rates in the perprotocol(pp) analysis were 94.1%(128/136; 95%CI: 92.9%-95.6%) in the MBST group and 82.6%(114/138; 95%CI: 80.6%-84.1%) in the Hybrid group(p = 0.003). The H. pylori eradication rate in the MBST group was significantly higher than that of the Hybrid group for both the ITT(p = 0.013) and the pp analyses(p = 0.003). Both groups exhibited full compliance with treatment(MBST/Hybrid group: 100%/100%). The rate of adv.rse ev.nts was 11.8%(16/136) and 19.6%(27/138) in the MBST and Hybrid group, respectiv.ly(p = 0.019).
