Evaluation of slope stability through rock mass classification and kinematic analysis of some major slopes along nH-1A from ramban to Banihal, north Western Himalayas

The network of Himalayan roadways and highways connects some remote regions of valleys or hill slopes,which is vital for India’s socio-economic *** to natural and artificial factors,frequency of slope instabilities along the networks has been increasing over last few *** of stability of natural and artificial slopes due to construction of these connecting road networks is significant in safely executing these roads throughout the *** rock mass classification methods are generally used to assess the strength and deformability of rock *** study assesses slope stability along the nH-1A of ramban district of north Western *** structurally and non-structurally controlled rock mass classification systems have been applied to assess the stability conditions of 14 *** evaluating the stability of these slopes,kinematic analysis was performed along with geological strength index(GsI),rock mass rating(rMr),continuous slope mass rating(CosMr),slope mass rating(sMr),and Q-slope in the present *** sMr gives three slopes as completely unstable while CosMr suggests four slopes as completely *** stability of all slopes was also analyzed using a design chart under dynamic and static conditions by slope stability rating(ssr)for the factor of safety(Fos)of 1.2 and 1 respectively.Q-slope with probability of failure(poF)1%gives two slopes as stable *** slope angle has been determined based on the Q-slope safe angle equation and ssr design chart based on the *** value ranges given by different empirical classifications were rMr(37-74),GsI(27.3-58.5),sMr(11-59),and CosMr(3.39-74.56).Good relationship was found among rMr&ssr and rMr&GsI with correlation coefficient(r 2)value of 0.815 and 0.6866,***,a comparative stability of all these slopes based on the above classification has been performed to identify the most critical slope along this road.

nonlinear Coupling of Kinetic Alfvén Waves and Ion Acoustic Waves in the Inner Heliosphere

We study the nonlinear coupling of kinetic Alfvén waves with ion acoustic waves applicable to the Earth’s radiation belt and near-sun streamer belt solar wind using dynamical equations in the form of modified Zakharov *** simulations show the formation of magnetic field filamentary structures associated with density humps and dips which become turbulent at later times,redistributing the energy to higher *** magnetic power spectra exhibit an inertial range Kolmogorov-like spectral index value of-5/3 for k_(⊥)ρ_(i)steeper dissipation range spectra with indices~-3 for the radiation belt case and~-4 for the nearsun streamer belt solar wind case,here k_(⊥)andρ_(i)represent the wavevector component perpendicular to the background magnetic field and the ion thermal gyroradius,*** quasilinear theory in terms of the Fokker-planck equation in the region of wavenumber turbulent spectra,we find the particle distribution function flattening in the superthermal tail population which is the signature of particle energization and plasma heating.

Insights into the interface of niCo_(2)O_(4) spinel/LaCoO_(3) perovskite nano-composite for CO and soot oxidation

In the quest for the development of thermally stable,highly active and low-cost catalysts for use in catalyzed diesel particulate filter,nano-composites are new areas of ***,we reported the easy synthesis of spinel niCo_(2)O_(4)/perovskite LaCoO_(3) nano-composite,and its individual oxides niCo_(2)O_(4)and LaCoO_(3) for *** detailed insights into the physio-chemical characteristics of formed niCo_(2)O_(4)/LaCoO_(3) nano-composite were done based on various characterization analysis such as X-ray diffraction(XrD),Fourier transform infrared(FT-Ir),n_(2) physiosorption,scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy(sEM-EDX),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(Xps).The characterization analysis of niCo_(2)O_(4)/LaCoO_(3) revealed the successful formation of a chemical interface possessing strong interfacial interaction,resulting in desirable physicochemical characteristics such as small crystallite size,abundant mesop.r.sity,high specific surface area and activation of surface lattice *** to the desirable characteristics,the activity results over niCo_(2)O_(4)/LaCoO_(3) nano-composite showed the excellent CO oxidation performance and high soot oxidation activity,recyclability and thermal *** work mainly attempts to emphasize the effectiveness of the facile,inexpensive and conventionally used precipitation method for the successful formation of highly efficient nano-composites.

Experimental Investigation of Thermal performance of novel Finned radiators for Automotive Cooling system

This research investigates innovative fin-type radiators for automobile engine cooling ***-channel and helical radiators,along with straight type,were analyzed for heat transfer characteristics under various *** uniqueness of this study is evident in the design of microchannel and helical *** helical radiators,the inner rod features 4/8 helical-shaped water galleries,while the outer tube frame with embedded fins remains *** contrast,the microchannel radiators have compact trapezoidal-shaped water galleries with separate fin ***,the novelty of the research is enhanced by the utilization of 3D printing technology in the manufacturing *** constant fin height analysis at varied water and air flow rate,Microchannel Water Air radiator with fin height 10.5 mm(MCWAr10.5)depicted a higher heat transfer rate amongst the *** comp.r.son to straight Water Air radiator with fin height 9.5 mm(sWAr9.5),the heat transfer rate is 30.3%and 1.3 times ***,in constant fin surface area analysis,microchannel radiator(MCWAr3.2)illustrates lower heat dissipation than Helical radiator(HWAr138)but higher than HWAr134 and straight radiator(sWAr6).The examination of pumping loss indicated that the Micro-channel radiator outperformed helical radiators due to its lower pressure *** average pressure loss for Micro-channel radiators was 0.74 kpa,making it 1.2 times higher than that of a straight radiator(0.62 kpa),indicating a better trade-off.

Long-term fertilizer nitrogen management—soil health conundrum

The mental model that fertilizer nitrogen (n) acts as a replacement for n mineralized from soil organic matter (sOM) needs to be revisited. soil organic matter, the storehouse of n in soil, is one of the most important indicators of soil health. It supplies more n to crop plants than the current-year fertilizer n even when applied at high rates. Limited research shows that the application of fertilizer n above the optimum levels on a long-term basis deteriorates soil health by mineralizing sOM and depleting the soil n pool. Because soil n includes portions of fertilizer n applied in several previous years, year after year application of fertilizer n below the optimum levels will also lead to a gradual decline in soil n pool or soil health. To sustain high crop yield levels, fertilizer n needs to be applied on a long-term basis neither above nor below the optimum levels to ensure that soil health in terms of sustaining supply of soil n is maintained, if not enhanced.

Application of response surface Methodology for Analysing and Optimizing the Finned solar Air Heater

In this research paper,a solar air heater with triangular fins has been experimentally analysed and ***,an experimental set-up of a solar air heater having triangular fins has been developed at the location of 28.10°n,78.23°*** heat transfer rate through fins and fins efficiency has been determined by the Finite Difference Method model *** experimental data and modeled data of response parameters have been optimized in MInITAB-17 software by the response surface Methodology *** creating the response surface design,three input parameters have been selected namely solar intensity,reynolds number,and fin base-to-height *** range of solar intensity,reynolds number,and fin base-to-height ratio is 600 to 1000W/m^(2),4000 to 6000,and 0.4 to 0.8 *** response surface design has been analyzed by calculating the outlet temperature,friction factor,nusselt number,fin efficiency,thermal performance factor,and exergy *** optimum settings of input parameters:solar intensity is 1000 W/m^(2);reynolds number is 4969.7,and the fin base to height ratio is 0.6060,on which these response:namely outlet temperature of 92.531℃,friction factor of 0.2350,nusselt number of 127.761,thermal efficiency of 50.836%,thermal performance factor of 1.4947,and exergy efficiency of 8.762%.

Effect of organic component(tartrate) addition on cerium nitrate's ability to inhibit corrosion of mild steel in naCl solution

Cerium tartrate（CeTar）,produced in this study by precipitating cerium nitrate with potassium sodium tartrate（KnaTar）,was examined as a corrosion *** loss tests show inhibition efficiency of 71.7% with Ce（nO3）3and 88.7% with CeTar inhibitor for one-month exposure to mild steel in 7 g/L naCl *** inhibition efficiency drops to 28.6% with the fo rmer and remains around 8 7% with the latter inhibitor after six months of *** results from electrochemical testing indicate that the inhibition efficiency decreases by adding cerium ***,the cerium tartrate inhibitor demonstrates a nearly constant inhibition efficiency for up to 30 d,i.e.,≈90%.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy（EIs） performed in these cases shows the following results:（ⅰ） with cerium nitrate,a film of iron and cerium oxide,which on prolonged exposure diminishes,and（ⅱ） with cerium tartrate,the formation of a bimetallic film（Fe-tartrate-Ce） and a mixture of cerium hydroxide and iro n oxide that protects steel for a longer *** inferences are based on the analyses of scanning electron microscopy/energydispersive X-ray analysis（sEM/EDAX）,X-ray diffraction（XrD）,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIr）,X-ray photoelectron（Xps）,and raman spectroscopy results.

Glacier area change (1993-2019) and its relationship to debris cover, proglacial lakes, and morphological parameters in the Chandra-Bhaga Basin, Western Himalaya, India

Glacier inventories serve as critical baseline data for understanding the impacts of climate change on *** present study maps the outlines of glaciers in the Chandra-Bhaga Basin(western Himalaya)for the years 1993,2000,2010,and 2019 using Landsat Thematic Mapper(TM),Enhanced Thematic Mapper(ETM),and Operational Land Imager(OLI)datasets.A total of 251 glaciers,each having an area above 0.5 km^(2),were identified,which include 216 clean-ice and 35 debris-covered *** changes are estimated for three periods:1993-2000,2000-2010,and *** total glacierized area was 996±62 km^(2) in 1993,which decreased to 973±70 km^(2) in *** mean rate of glacier area loss was higher in the recent decade(2010-2019),at 0.036 km^(2),compared to previous decades(0.029 km^(2) in 2000-2010 and 0.025 km^(2) in 1993-2000).supraglacial debris cover changes are also mapped over the period of 1993 and *** is found that the supraglacial debris cover increased by 14.12±2.54 km^(2)(15.2%)during *** field surveys on Chhota shigri,panchi II,patsio,Hamtah,Mulkila,and Yoche Lungpa glaciers were carried out to validate the glacier outlines and supraglacial debris cover estimated using satellite *** of various morphological parameters on retreat were also *** is observed that small,clean ice,south oriented glaciers,and glaciers with proglacial lakes are losing area at faster rates than other glaciers in the basin.
