The present study reports the magnetizations and magneto-transport properties of prFel_xNixO3 thin films grown by pulsed laser ablation technique on LaA103 snbstrates. From DC M/H plots of these films, weak ferromagnetism or ferrimagnetism behaviors are observed. With Ni substitution, reduction in saturation magnetization is also seen. With Ni doping, variations in saturation field （Hs）, coercive field （Hc）, Weiss temperature （0）, and effective magnetic moment （pelf） are seen. A small change of magnetoresitance with application of higher field is observed. Various essential parameters like density of state （Nf） at Fermi level, Mott＇s characteristic temperature （To）, and activation energy （Ea） in the presence of and in the absence of magnetic field are calculated. The present observed magnetic properties are related to the change of Fe-O bond length （causing an overlap between the oxygen p orbital and iron d orbital） and the deviation of the Fe-O-Fe angle from 180~. Reduction of magnetic domain after Ni doping is also explored to explain the present observed magnetic behavior of the system. The influence of doping on various transport properties in these thin films indicates a distortion in the lattice structure and single particle band width, owing to stress-induced reduction in unit cell volume.

Objective:The objective of the study was to compare the outcome of tunica albuginea urethroplasty(TAU)and buccal mucosa graft(BMG)urethroplasty for anterior urethral ***:Thirty patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomised into two groups:TAU(Group A)and BMG urethroplasty(Group B).Surgical outcome was evaluated with pre-and post-operative work-up involving retrograde urethrogram,voiding cystourethrogram,uroflowmetry,and *** were followed up till 1 ***:Mean duration of surgery was statistically significant between two groups(p=0.0005).Maximum urine flow rate was comparable when compared between two groups(p=0.22)but statistically significant when compared pre-and post-operatively(pp of 1 year,the successful outcomes were 80% in Group A and 87%in Group B.A total of five patients who had unsuccessful results required redo *** were minimal in both the ***:TAU provides outcomes equivalent to those of BMG *** has less operative time,easy to perform,and beneficial in patients with poor oral hygiene.

Underutilized plant species help to alleviate common food insufficiencies by providing alternative food supply. They also complement primary health care, furnishing raw materials where the cultivation of staple cereal crops is least feasible and health care is pursued indigenously. Research and promotion of extraction, utilization, and conservation of underutilized species lead to exploration of new staple crops and motivate people to consume in a sustainable manner. The present study describes the current status, uses, and management of underutilized plant species in Far West Nepal. The relative importance of 49 underutilized plant species was computed employing a Relative Importance (RI) technique. The use-values assigned to the species fall into six use-categories: beverage, fodder, food & edible, medicinal, vegetable and veterinary. A total of 22 species appeared in multiple use-categories, while the rest were characterized by a single use-category. Based on relative importance and frequency, Ficus semicordata, Debregesia longifolia, Girardinea diversifolia, Hydrocotyle nepalensis, Garuga pinnata, Aloe vera and pyrus pashia offer the most potential for future. Underutilized plants proved important to folk medicine and food. These species persist because they remain useful to local people as means of subsistence, production, and primary health care. The findings are important so far as they point up the role of underutilized plants in national food security policy and health care, spelling out their potentialities and cross cutting relationships.

Comparative Analysis of the 100 kb Region Containing the pi-k^h Locus Between indica and japonica Rice Lines

We have recently cloned a pathogen inducible blast resistance gene pi-k^h from the indica rice line Tetep using a positional cloning approach. In this study, we carried out structural organization analysis of the pi-k^h locus in both indica and japonica rice lines. A 100 kb region containing 50 kb upstream and 50 kb downstream sequences flanking to the pi-k^h locus was selected for the investigation. A total of 16 genes in indica and 15 genes in japonica were predicted and annotated in this region. The average GC content of indica and japonica genes in this region was 53.15% and 49.3%, respectiveIy. Both indica and japonica sequences were polymorphic for simple sequence repeats having mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-, and pentanucleotides. Sequence analysis of the specific blast resistant pi-k^h allele of Tetep and the susceptible pi-k^h allele of the japonica rice line Nipponbare showed differences in the number and distribution of motifs involved in phosphorylation, resulting in the resistance phenotype in Tetep.

A selective, sensitive and rugged liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry(LC–MS/MS) assay has been developed for the simultaneous determination of doxepin(Dox) and its pharmacologically active metabolite, nordoxepin(NDox) in human plasma. The analytes and their internal standards(IS)were extracted from 500 m L of human plasma by liquid-liquid extraction using methyl tert-butyl *** separation was achieved on Hypurity C8 column(100 mm ? 4.6 mm, 5 mm) using a mixture of acetonitrile-methanol(95:5, v/v) and 2.0 mM ammonium formate in 93:7(v/v) ratio. Detection was accomplished by tandem mass spectrometry in the positive ionization and multiple reaction monitoring acquisition mode. The protonated precursor to product ion transitions studied for Dox, NDox,and their corresponding ISs, propranolol and desipramine, were m/z 280.1-107.0, 266.0-107.0,260.1-116.1 and 267.1-72.1, respectively. A linear dynamic range of 15.0–3900 pg/mL for Dox and 5.00–1300 pg/mL for NDox was established with mean correlation coefficient(r2) of 0.9991 and 0.9993, respectively. The extraction recovery ranged from 86.6%–90.4% and 88.0%–99.1% for Dox and NDox, respectively. The intra-batch and inter-batch precision(% CV) across quality control levels was r 8.3% for both the analytes. Stability evaluated under different storage conditions showed no evidence of degradation and the % change in stability samples compared to nominal concentration ranged from 4.7% to12.3%. The method was successfully applied to a bioequivalence study of 6 mg doxepin hydrochloride orally disintegrating tablet in 41 healthy Indian subjects under fasting and fed conditions.

pepBind: A Comprehensive Database and Computational Tool for Analysis of protein-peptide Interactions

protein-peptide interactions, where one partner is a globular protein （domain） and the other is a flexible linear peptide, are key components of cellular processes predominantly in signal- ing and regulatory networks, hence are prime targets for drug design. To derive the details of the protein-peptide interaction mechanism is often a cumbersome task, though it can be made easier with the availability of specific databases and tools. The peptide Binding protein Database （pep- Bind） is a curated and searchable repository of the structures, sequences and experimental observa- tions of 3100 protein^eptide complexes. The web interface contains a computational tool, protein inter-chain interaction （pICI）, for computing several types of weak or strong interactions at the pro- tein peptide interaction interface and visualizing the identified interactions between residues in Jmol viewer. This initial database release focuses on providing protein-peptide interface informa- tion along with structure and sequence information for protein-peptide complexes deposited in the protein Data Bank （pDB）. Structures in pepBind are classified based on their cellular activity. More than 40% of the structures in the database are found to be involved in different regulatory pathways and nearly 20% in the immune system. These data indicate the importance of protein- peptide complexes in the regulation of cellular processes. pepBind is freely accessible at http：// ***/.

Marine plastic pollution has become a major threat to the *** increasing production and use of plastic,combined with limitations of waste management practices,mean the leakage of plastic waste into the environment is bound to *** study focuses on the determination of plastic recovery potential from dumpsites and landfills in Thailand,to potentially prevent marine plastic *** this study,two dumpsites were analysed wherein an average of 42% of plastic was found to be *** value,when extrapolated for Thailand,is equivalent to 187.9 million tonnes of plastic waste in dumpsites and *** there are 2380 dumpsites in the country,this study suggests that 973 of these spread over 42 provinces are located near water bodies or coastline,which should be considered as a *** plastic waste recovered from these dumpsites can be treated by co-fuelling in cement *** kilns can valorise plastic waste as they can reach up to 75%energy recovery from waste,which is much higher compared to traditional waste-to-energy *** adequate incentives and sound regulations,cement industries could help in the reduction of marine plastic pollution with controlled emissions and a very large capacity to co-fuel cement production,there is a readily available solution to manage the large volumes of solid waste generated.
