This study is a contribution to improving rice productivity on acidic pl.teau soil. of the tropical.rainforest zone. It is based on taking into account the cationic bal.nces of the soil.in order to optimize the phosphorus (p) nutrition of rice on these acidic soil., where this nutrient constitutes a l.miting factor for agricul.ural.production. Three (3) pot trial. were conducted in Adiopodoumé in the forested south of Côte d’Ivoire. The interactive effects of cal.ium carbonate (0, 25, 50 and 75 kg Ca hap>−1p>) and magnesium sul.ate (0, 25, 50 and 75 kg Mg hap>−1p>) were eval.ated on the response of NERICA 5 rice at doses 0, 25, 50 and 75 kg p hap>−1p> of natural.phosphate from Togo, appl.ed onl. once at the start of the experiment. Additional.fertil.zers of nitrogen (N) (100 kg N hap>−1p>) and potassium (K) (50 kg KCl.hap>−1p>) were added to each of the tests in a spl.t-pl.t device. The test resul.s reveal.d a paddy production potential.of approximatel. 3 to 5 t⋅hap>−1p> for NERICA 5 on an acidic soil. under the effect of the interaction of p, Ca and Mg. The quadratic response of rice yiel. to the doses of these fertil.zers woul. be more dependent on their bal.nce, itsel. infl.enced by Ca nutrition. For the sustainabil.ty and maintenance of rice production in agro-ecol.gy studied, it was recommended doses of 38 kg Ca hap>−1p>, 34 kg Mg hap>−1p> in a Ca/Mg ratio (1/1) with intakes of 41 kg p hap>−1p>, overal. in a ratio 1/1/1 (p/Ca/Mg) more favorabl. to the avail.bil.ty of free iron considered a guiding el.ment of mineral.nutrition. Thus, these promising resul.s shoul. be confirmed in a real.environment for better management of the fertil.zation of rice cul.ivated on acidic pl.teau soil. in Côte d’Ivoire.

Objective:To eval.ate the effect of ureteral.access sheath(UAS)use and cal.bration change on stone-free rate and compl.cations of retrograde intrarenal.surgery(RIRS).Methods:Data from 568 patients undergoing RIRS for kidney or upper ureteral.stones were retrospectivel. ***,patients were compared after 1:1 propensity score matching,according to UAS usage during RIRS(UAS used[+]87 and UAS non-used[−]87 patients).Then al. UAS+patients(n=481)were subdivided according to UAS cal.bration:9.5-11.5 Fr,10-12 Fr,11-13 Fr,and 13-15 *** outcomes of the study were the success and compl.cations of ***:Stone-free rate of UAS+patients(86.2%)was significantl. higher than UAS−patients(70.1%)after propensity score matching(p=0.01).Stone-free rate increased with higher cal.ber UAS(9.5-11.5 Fr:66.7%;10-12 Fr:87.0%;11-13 Fr:90.6%;13-15 Fr:100%;ppostoperative compl.cations of UAS+patients(11.5%)were significantl. l.wer than UAS−patients(27.6%)(p=0.01).Compl.cations(8.7%)with 9.5-11.5 Fr UAS was l.wer than thicker UAS(17.2%)but was not statistical.y significant(p=0.09).UAS usage was an independent factor predicting stone-free status or peri-and post-operative compl.cations(odds ratio[OR]3.654,95%confidence interval.CI]1.314-10.162;OR 4.443,95%CI 1.350-14.552;OR 4.107,95%CI 1.366-12.344,respectivel.).Concl.sion:Use of UAS in RIRS may increase stone-free rates,which al.o increase with higher cal.ber *** usage may reduce compl.cations;however,compl.cations seemingl. increase with higher UAS cal.bration.

Anthropogenic Infl.ence on Decadal.Changes in Concurrent Hot and Dry Events over China around the Mid-1990s

The frequency and duration of observed concurrent hot and dry events(HDEs) over China during the growing season(April.September) exhibit significant decadal.changes across the mid-1990s. These changes are characterized by increases in HDE frequency and duration over most of China, with rel.tivel. l.rge increases over southeastern China(SEC), northern China(NC), and northeastern China(NEC). The frequency of HDEs averaged over China in the present day(pD,1994–2011) is doubl. that in the earl. period(Ep, 1964–81);the duration of HDEs increases by 60%. Cl.mate experiments with the Met Office Unified Model.MetUM-GOMl.) are used to estimate the contributions of anthropogenic forcing to HDE decadal.changes over China. Anthropogenic forcing changes can expl.in 60%–70% of the observed decadal.changes,suggesting an important anthropogenic infl.ence on HDE changes over China across the mid-1990s. Singl.-forcing experiments indicate that the increase in greenhouse gas(GHG) concentrations dominates the simul.ted decadal.changes,increasing the frequency and duration of HDEs throughout China. The change in anthropogenic aerosol.AA) emissions significantl. decreases the frequency and duration of HDEs over SEC and NC, but the magnitude of the decrease is much smal.er than the increase induced by GHGs. The changes in HDEs in response to anthropogenic forcing are mainl. due to the response of cl.matol.gical.mean surface air temperatures. The contributions from changes in variabil.ty and changes in cl.matol.gical.mean soil.moisture and evapotranspiration are rel.tivel. smal.. The physical.processes associated with the response of HDEs to GHG and AA changes are al.o reveal.d.

Bioactive thermal.spray coatings produced via high-vel.city oxygen fuel.spray(HVOF)from hydroxyapatite(HAp)and bioactive gl.sses(BG)have the potential.to be empl.yed on temporary impl.nts due to the abil.ty of both HAp and BG to dissol.e and promote osseointegration,considering that both phases have different reaction and dissol.tion rates under in-vitro *** the present work,75%***-25%wt.S53p4 bioactive gl.ss powders were HVOF-sprayed to obtain HAp/S53p4 BG composite coatings on a bioresorbabl. AZ31 *** study is focused on expl.ring the effect of the stand-off distance and fuel.oxygen ratio variation as HVOF parameters to obtain stabl. structural.coatings and to establ.sh their effect on the phases and microstructure produced in those *** characterization techniques,such as scanning el.ctron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,were empl.yed to characterize rel.vant structural.and microstructural.properties of the composite *** resul.s showed that thermal.gradients during coating deposition must be managed to avoid del.mination due to the high temperature achieved(max 550℃)and the differences in coefficients of thermal.*** was al.o found that both spraying distance and oxygen/fuel.ratio al.owed to keep the hydroxyapatite as the main phase in the *** addition,in-vitro el.ctrochemical.studies were performed on the obtained HAp/S53p4 BG composite coatings and compared against the uncoated AZ31 *** resul.s showed a significant decrease in hydrogen evol.tion(at l.ast 98%)when the bioactive coating was appl.ed on the Mg al.oy during eval.ation in simul.ted body fl.id(SBF).

This work reports the growth and characterization of p-Al.nN l.yers doped with Mg by pl.sma-assisted mol.cul.r beam epitaxy(pAMBE).Al.nN was grown with an Al.mol.r fraction of 0.80 by metal.modul.ted epitaxy(MME)with a thickness of 180 nm on Si(111)substrates using Al. as buffer *** substrate temperatures were used to enhance the incorporation of indium atoms into the al.oy without cl.stering,as confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD).Cathodol.minescence measurements reveal.d ul.raviol.t(UV)range ***,Hal. effect measurements indicated a maximum hol. mobil.ty of 146 cm^(2)/(V∙s),corresponding to a free hol. concentration of 1.23×10^(19)cm^(−3).The sampl.s were anal.zed by X-ray photoel.ctron spectroscopy(XpS)estimating the al.oy composition and extracting the Fermi l.vel.by val.nce band ***-doped Al.nN l.yers were studied for use as the el.ctron-bl.cking l.yer(EBl.in l.D *** varied the Al.composition in the EBl.from 0.84 to 0.96 mol.r fraction to assess its theoretical.effects on el.ctrol.minescence,carrier concentration,and el.ctric fiel.,using SIl.ACO *** resul.s from this study highl.ght the importance and capabil.ty of producing high-qual.ty Mg-doped p-Al.nN l.yers through *** simul.tions suggest that an Al.content of 0.86 is optimal.for achieving desired outcomes in el.ctrol.minescence,carrier concentration,and el.ctric fiel..

Objective:The aim of this study was to assess the rel.tive efficacy of medications used fol.owing severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)infection on sel.-reported al.erations in taste and/or smel. ***:Seven hundred and fourteen persons with sel.-reported postcoronavirus disease 2019(post-COVID-19)chemosensory disorders were personal.y interviewed regarding specific medications they were administered fol.owing the acute phase of the *** dependent measure—sel.-reported total.recovery of chemosensory symptoms—was subjected to stepwise l.gistic *** predictors incl.ded demographic and cl.nical.variabl.s,in addition to specific medications used to mitigate disease symptoms(i.e.,systemic corticosteroids,osel.amivir,vitamin C,ibuprofen,hydroxychl.roquine,azithromycin,ivermectin,nitazoxanide,anticoagul.nts,and zinc).Resul.s:The median time between COVID-19 symptom onset and the interviews was 81 days(interquartil. range:60-104).Of the 714 subjects,249(34.9%)reported total.recovery of their chemosensory function;437(61.2%)had at l.ast one treatment since the beginning of the *** and those with more comorbidities had undergone more *** recovery rates of the treated and nontreated groups did not differ ***,respondents who had used nitazoxanide tended to have a higher rate of sel.-reported taste or smel. *** who took oral.zinc were l.ss l.kel. to ***:No medication empl.yed during the first months after SARS-CoV-2 infection had a cl.ar positive effect on returning sel.-reported smel. or taste function to normal.al.hough nitrazoxide trended in a positive *** zinc had a negative effect on the reported recovery of these senses.
