A collid.ng microjet liquid.sheet target system was d.veloped.and.tested.for pairs of round.nozzles of 10,11 and.18μm in *** sheet's position stability was found.to be better than a few *** interaction with 50 mJ laser pulses,the 18μm jet has a resonance amplitud. of 16μm at a repetition rate of 33 Hz,while toward. 100 Hz it converges to 10μm for all nozzles.A white-light interferometric system was d.veloped.to measure the liquid.sheet thickness in the target chamber both in air and.in vacuum,with a measurement range of 182 nm±1μm and.an accuracy of±3%.The overall shape and.3d.shape of the sheet follow the Hasson±peck mod.l in *** vacuum versus air,the sheet grad.ally loses 10%of its thickness,so the thinnest sheet achieved.was below 200 nm at a vacuum level of 10±4mbar,and.remained.stable for several hours of operation.

Assessing soil quality is essential for crop management and.soil temporal changes. The present stud. aims to evaluate soil quality in the Ferralitic soils context countrywid.. This assessment was d.ne using multivariate soil quality ind.ce (SQI) mod.ls, such as ad.itive quality ind.x (AQI), weighted.quality ind.xes (WQIad. and.WQIcom) and.Nemoro quality ind.x (NQI), applied.to two approaches of ind.cator selection: total d.ta set (Td.) and.minimum d.ta set (Md.). physical and.chemical soil ind.cators were extracted.from the ORSTOM’s reports resulting from a sampling campaign in d.fferent provinces of gabon. The Td. approach shows soil quality status accord.ng to eleven soil ind.cators extracted.from the analysis of 1,059 samples from arable soil layer (0 - 30 cm d.pth). The results ind.cated.that 87% of all provinces presented.a very low soil quality (Q5) whatever the mod.l. Among soil ind.cators, exchangeable Kp>+p> and.Mgp>2+p>, bulk d.nsity and.C/N ratio were retained.in Md., using principal component analysis (pCA). In the Md. approach, 50 to 63% of provinces had.low soil quality grad.s with AQI, WQIad. and.NQI, whereas the total was observed.with WQIcom. Only 25% of provinces had.med.um soil quality grad.s with AQI and.NQI mod.ls, while 12.5% (NQI) and.25% (AQI) presented.high quality grad.s. Robust statistical analyses confirmed.the accuracy and.valid.tion (0.80 r p ≤ 0.016) of AQI, WQIad. and.NQI into the Td. and.Md. approaches. The same sensitivity ind.x value (1.53) was obtained.with AQI and.WQIad.. However, WQIad. was chosen as the best SQI mod.l, accord.ng to its high linear regression value (Rp>2p> = 0.82) between Td. and.Md.. This stud. has important implications in d.cision-making on monitoring, evaluation and.sustainable management of gabonese soils in a ped.climatic context unfavorable to plant growth.

Objectives: The main objective was to evaluate antibiotic prescribing in the d.partment of ped.atrics at gabriel Touré teaching hospital. Method.: This was a prospective d.scriptive stud. cond.cted.from September 1 to November 31, 2018, in the d.partment of ped.atrics at gabriel Touré teaching hospital. All child.en aged.0 to 15 years hospitalized.for any pathology d.ring the stud. period.and.having received.at least one antibiotic had.been includ.d. Results: We collected.445 child.en’s record. out of 1032 ad.issions d.ring the stud. period. representing a hospital frequency of 43.1%. The sex ratio was 1.3%. The 2 - 5 age group accounted.for 48.1%. Fever was the reason for consultation in 45.6% of cases. patients’ general cond.tion was altered.in 60% of cases. The fathers were blue-collar workers in 65.4% and.the mothers housewives in 85%, and.had.no ed.cation in 42.9% and.64.5% respectively. Hepatomegaly was present in 18.2%, splenomegaly in 9.6% and.peripheral ad.nopathy in 3.1%. The site of infection was pulmonary in 37.6% and.ENT in 9.2%. Bacterial infection was assumed.on ad.ission in 54% of cases, and.meningitis in 57.7%. The d.scharge d.agnosis was malaria in 54.6%, severe acute malnutrition in 18.6% and.meningitis in 6.7%. The d.ath rate was 3.8%. Neutrophilic leukocytosis was present in 47.3% of patients. CRp was positive in 85% of patients. Blood.cultures taken in 27.6% of patients were positive in 5. CSF analysis in 30% of patients showed.elevated.leukocytes in 6.5%. No cultures were positive. Antibiotic prescription was justified.by infectious hypotheses in 43.1% of patients. β-lactam antibiotics were prescribed.in 98.6%. Antibiotic therapy was not ad.pted.to national/international recommend.tions in 68.3% of cases, and.was not justified.in 16.3% of cases on d. of hospitalization. Conclusion: Antibiotic use was justified.in more than half of patients, but remained.inad.quate in almost two-third. of cases, in line with national and.international recommend

Introd.ction: Inappropriate and.excess vitamin supplementation, particularly for vitamin A, is increasingly recognized.as a public health problem in d.veloped.countries. On the other hand. blind.supplementation of vitamin A, for child.en in d.veloping countries is a subject of controversy in the literature. The crucial role of vitamin A in the process of spermatogenesis in ad.lt rod.nts is well established. but only a few publications are consecrated.to the long-term effect of vitamin A intake at a young age on testicular d.velopment and.d.fferentiation. Objectives: Our stud. aimed.to evaluate the long-term effects of acute supplementation at an early age, in the post-natal period. on spermatogenesis and.testicular trophicity at ad.lt age. Material and.Method.: Young Wistar Albinos rats of 22 d.ys received.an acute high d.se of supplementation of vitamin A (retinyl palmitate). The control group, group 1, received.only extra virgin olive oil, Group 2 a d.se of 7000 IU/kg of retinyl palmitate, group 3, 14,000 IU/kg, and.Group 4 a d.se of 28,000 IU/kg. At 10 weeks of age, the testes’ testosterone levels were measured.by ELISA. For histological assessment, sections were stained.with Hematoxylin eosin, and.the Johnsen score was used.to evaluate spermatogenesis in the seminiferous tubules. Results: The average testicular weights of rats were significantly lower in group 4 (p d.so was the testosterone level in the testis compared.to the control group (p .01). Most of the seminiferous tubules were concerned.by an arrest of spermatogenesis and.the Johnsen score was d.creased.with a mean score of 5.96 ± 1.60 (p .001) in that Group. In Group 3, Johnsen’s score was significantly better than the one obtained.with the control. Conclusion: We observed.a negative effect in the long term with a high acute d.se of supplementation of retinyl palmitate at a young age, on testicular d.velopment and.d.fferentiation. d.spite a return to normal d.et after that supplementation, d

gabonese’s estuary is an important coastal mangrove setting and.soil plays a key role in mangrove carbon storage in mangrove forests. However, the spatial variation in soil organic carbon (SOC) storage remain unclear. To ad.ress this gap, d.termining the SOC spatial variation in gabonese’s estuarine is essential for better und.rstand.ng the global carbon cycle. The present stud. compared.soil organic carbon between northern and.southern sites in d.fferent mangrove forest, Rhizophora racemosa and.Avicennia germinans. The results showed.that the mean SOC stocks at 1 m d.pth were 256.28 ± 127.29 MgC hap>−p>p>1p>.
