Background pink bollworm,pectinophora gossypiella(Saunders)(Lepidoptera:Gelechiidae)has become a poten-tial pest of cotton by causing substantial yield losses around the world including *** in view the facts like limited research investigations,unavailability,and high cost of artificial diet’s constituents and their premixes,the present research investigations on the dietary aspect of *** were *** larvae of *** were reared on different diets that were prepared using indigenous *** standard/laboratory diet com-prised of wheat germ meal 34.5 g,casein 30.0 g,agar–agar 20.0 g,sucrose 10.0 g,brewer’s yeast 5.0 g,α-cellulose 1.0 g,potassium-sorbate1.5 g,niplagin 0.5 g,decavitamin 0.01 g,choline-chloride 0.06 g,maize-oil 3.30 g,honey 2.0 g,and water 730.0 *** to cotton bolls and wheat germ meal were okra seed sprouts,okra fruit,cottonseed meal,and okra seed meals,which were included in the study to introduce an efficient and economic mass-rearing *** The larval development completed in 19.68d±0.05 d with a weight of 20.18mg±0.20 mg at the fourth instar fed on the cottonseed meal-based diet instead of wheat germ meal based *** the same diet,84.00%±4.00%,17.24 mg±0.03 mg,and 7.76d±0.06 d were recorded as pupae formation,pupal weight,and pupal duration,*** emergence,76.00%±1.00%was recorded from pupae collected from larvae raised on cottonseed meal-based *** male and female moths lived for 40.25d±0.10 d,and 44.34d±0.11 d,*** deposited 21.28±0.04 eggs per day with the viability of 65.78%±0.14%.The larval mortal-ity at the fourth instar was 37.20%±1.36%and malformed pupation of 12.00%±1.41%was *** of wheat germ meal with that of local meals(cottonseed and okra seed)in the standard laboratory diet has saved 463.80 to 467.10 pKR with 1.62 to 1.63 cost economic returns,*** This research is of novel nature as it provides a concis

MXene has garnered widespread recognition in the scientific com-munity due to its remarkable properties,including excellent thermal stability,high conductivity,good hydrophilicity and dispersibility,easy processability,tunable surface properties,and admirable *** have been categorized into different families based on the number of M and X layers in M_(n+1)X_(n),such as M_(2)X,M_(3)X_(2),M_(4)X_(3),and,recently,M_(5)X_(4).Among these families,M_(2)X and M_(3)X_(2),par-ticularly Ti_(3)C_(2),have been greatly explored while limited studies have been given to M_(5)X_(4)MXene ***,studies on the M_(4)X_(3)MXene family have developed recently,hence,demanding a compilation of evaluated ***,this review provides a systematic overview of the latest advancements in M_(4)X_(3)MXenes,focusing on their properties and applications in energy storage *** objective of this review is to provide guidance to researchers on fostering M_(4)X_(3)MXene-based nanomaterials,not only for energy storage devices but also for broader applications.

Strong coupling of mid-infrared(mid-IR)vibrational transitions to optical cavities provides a means to modify and control a material’s chemical reactivity and offers a foundation for novel chemical detection ***,the relatively large volumes of the mid-IR photonic cavities and weak oscillator strengths of vibrational transitions restrict vibrational strong coupling(VSC)studies and devices to large ensembles of molecules,thus representing a potential limitation of this nascent ***,we experimentally and theoretically investigate the mid-IR optical properties of 3d-printed multimode metal-insulator-metal(MIM)plasmonic nanoscale cavities for enabling strong light-matter interactions at a deep subwavelength *** observe strong vibration-plasmon coupling between the two dipolar modes of the L-shaped cavity and the carbonyl stretch vibrational transition of the polymer *** cavity mode volume is half the size of a typical square-shaped MIM geometry,thus enabling a reduction in the number of vibrational oscillators to achieve strong *** resulting three polariton modes are well described by a fully coupled multimode oscillator model where all coupling potentials are *** 3d printing technique of the cavities is a highly accessible and versatile means of printing arbitrarily shaped submicron-sized mid-IR plasmonic cavities capable of producing strong light–matter interactions for a variety of photonic or photochemical ***,similar MIM structures fabricated with nanoscopic voids within the insulator region could constitute a promising microfluidic plasmonic cavity device platform for applications in chemical sensing or photochemistry.

Female directors in the boardroom and intellectual capital performance:does the“critical mass”matter?

This research aims to investigate the influence of female directors on Intellectual Capital performance(ICp)using a sample of manufacturing-listed companies in *** study investigates the link between having two or more female directors and the Modified Value-Added Intellectual Coefficient(MVAIC)methodology,employing the critical mass theory from 2004–*** find that having a critical mass of female directors(three or more)shows a significant positive impact on MVAIC and its components,including human capital efficiency,structural capital efficiency,relational capital efficiency,and physical capital efficiency,with physical capital being the critical *** study reveals that the critical mass participation of female directors substantially influences the IC efficiency of privately owned companies compared to state-owned ***,the number of female directors also affects the IC performance of manufacturing companies in multiple *** findings support the validity of group classification identified by Kanter and Critical Mass *** the best of our knowledge,this is one of the few pieces of research that studies the role of female board directors in IC performance and Chinese manufacturing firms using MVAIC as an IC measure.

Forest cover change in the mountainous region is driven by a variety of anthropogenic and natural *** Hindu Kush-Himalayan Mountains has experienced a considerable vegetation cover change due to intensive human activities,such as population growth,proximate causes,accessibility,unstable political situations,government policy failure and *** present study seeks to find out the impact of population growth and road network expansion on forest cover of palas valley based on remotely sensed data and employing geospatial *** in forest cover were determined by classifying time-series satellite images of Landsat and Sentinel 2 *** images of October 1980,2000,2010 and 2017 were classified into six land cover classes and then the impact of population growth and accessibility on forest cover was ***,forest cover and land-use change detection map was prepared using classified images of 1980 and *** data were collected mainly from field visits(ground verification),census reports,Communication and Works department,*** imageries were obtained from the United States Geological Survey’s websites and classified in ERdAS imagine 2014 and ESRI ArcGIS 10.2.1 using supervised classification-maximum likelihood *** of this study revealed that a substantial reduction in forest cover has taken place mainly in the proximity of human *** the average,during the study period,annually more than 460 hectares of forest area has been converted into other uses.

Methoprene application and diet protein supplementation to male melon fly, Bactrocera cucurbitae, modifies female remating behavior

Methoprene （an analogue of juvenile hormone） application and feeding on a protein diet is known to enhance male melon fly, Bactrocera cucurbitae Coquillett （diptera： Tephritidae）, mating success. In this study, we investigated the effect of these treatments on male B. cucurbitae＇s ability to inhibit female remating. While 14-d-old females were fed on protein diet, 6-d-old males were exposed to one of the following treatments：（i） topical application of methoprene and fed on a protein diet; （ii） no methoprene but fed on a protein diet; （iii） methoprene and sugar-fed only; and （iv） sugar-fed, 14-d-old males acted as controls. Treatments had no effect on a male＇s ability to depress the female remating receptivity in comparison to the control. Females mated with protein-deprived males showed higher remating receptivity than females first mated with protein-fed males. Methoprene and protein diet interaction had a positive effect on male mating success during the first and second mating of females. Significantly more females first mated with sugar-fed males remated with protein-fed males and females first mated with methoprene treated and protein-fed males were more likely to remate with similarly treated males. Females mating latency （time to start mating） was significantly shorter with protein-fed males, and mating duration was significantly longer with protein-fed males compared with protein-deprived males. These results are discussed in the context of methoprene and/or dietary protein as prerelease treatment of sterile males in area-wide control of melon fly integrating the sterile insect technique （SIT）.

The title compound was synthesized from 3-（2-methylphenyl）-2-thioxo-2,3-dihy- droquinazolin-4（1H）-one （4） which was prepared from 2-methylaniline in two steps. The structure was supported by the spectroscopic data and unambiguously confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group pbca with unit cell dimensions a = 6.687（4）, b = 24.788（16）, c = 30.453（19）  V = 5048（5） 3 and Z = 8.

Structural,electronic,and magnetic properties of Co-doped ZnO

density functional theory based calculations have been carried out to study structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of Znl-xCoxO （x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75） in the zinc-blende phase, and the generalized gradient approximation proposed by Wu and Cohen has been used. Our calculated lattice constants decrease while the bulk moduli increase with the increase of Co2＋ concentration. The calculated spin polarized band structures show the metallic behavior of Co-doped ZnO for both the up and the down spin cases with various doping concentrations. Moreover, the electron population is found to shift from the Zn-O bond to the Co-O bond with the increase of Co2~ concentration. The total magnetic moment~ the interstitial magnetic moment, the valence and the conduction band edge spin splitting energies, and the exchange constants decrease, while the local magnetic moments of Zn, Co, O, the exchange spin splitting energies, and crystal field splitting energies increase with the increase of dopant concentration.

Multistage-batch bipolar membrane electrodialysis for base production from high-salinity wastewater

Bipolar membrane electrodialysis(BMEd)is considered a state-of-the-art technology for the conversion of salts into acids and ***,the low concentration of base generated from a traditional BMEd process may limit the viability of this technology for a large-scale ***,we report an especially designed multistage-batch(two/three-stage-batch)BMEd process to increase the base concentration by adjusting different volume ratios in the acid(Vacid),base(Vbase),and salt compartments(Vsalt).The findings indicated that performance of the two-stage-batch with a volume ratio of Vacid:Vbase:Vsalt=1:1:5 was superior in comparison to the threestage-batch with a volume ratio of Vacid:Vbase:Vsalt=1:1:***,the base concentration could be further increased by exchanging the acid produced in the acid compartment with fresh water in the second stage-batch *** the two-stage-batch BMEd,the maximum concentration of the base can be obtained up to 3.40 mol∙L^(-1),which was higher than the most reported base production by *** low energy consumption and high current efficiency further authenticate that the designed process is reliable,cost-effective,and more productive to convert saline water into valuable industrial commodities.
