Occupant-centric controls(OcC)is an indoor climate control approach whereby occupant feedback is used in the sequence of operation of building energy *** OcC has been used in a wide range of building applications,an OcC category that has received considerable research interest is learning occupants'thermal preferences through their thermostat interactions and adapting temperature setpoints *** recent studies used reinforcement learning(RL)as an agent for OcC to optimize energy use and occupant *** studies depended on predicted mean vote(pMV)models or constant comfort ranges to represent comfort,while only few of them used thermostat *** paper addresses this gap by introducing a new off-policy reinforcement learning(RL)algorithm that imitates the occupant behaviour by utilizing unsolicited occupant thermostat *** algorithm is tested with a number of synthetically generated occupant behaviour models implemented via the python Apl of *** simulation results indicate that the RL algorithm could rapidly learn preferences for all tested occupant behaviour scenarios with minimal exploration *** substantial energy savings were observed with most occupant scenarios,the impact on the energy savings varied depending on occupants'preferences and thermostat use behaviour stochasticity.

Frailty is a multidimensional dynamic condition characterized by decreased physiological reserves. Therefore,frail people are more vulnerable to ***,minor stimuli,like a new drug prescription,can alter their homeostatic equilibrium determining adverse clinical outcomes(i.e.,falls,institutionalization,disability,and death).[1,2]Since the risk of atrial fibrillation[3]and venous thromboembolism[4]increase with ageing,frail people might require long term anticoagulation.

Reliability and maintainability of mining industry is more in focus than ever, and the mining systems are becoming more complex and the equipment more expensive to repair or modify. Unplanned failures can result in significant costs, especially when the machinery is hard to repair or spare parts are far away. This paper presents a case study describing a reliability and maintainability analysis of the main conveyor system of the Svea Coal Mine located in Svalbard, Norway. The conveyor system includes several separate conveyors. In this study, the main six conveyors of the whole system were selected for the analysis. The failure and repair data of the conveyors were collected for the whole year of 2010 using maintenance and daily reports. The date was analyzed and the result shows that the availability of six conveyers is 96.44%for one year of operation. However, reliability of these conveyers needs to be improved in order to reduce the number of failures.

Video capsule endoscopy (VCE) was launched in 2000 and has revolutionized direct endoscopic imaging of the gut. VCE is now a first-line procedure for exploring the small bowel in cases of obscure digestive bleeding and is also indicated in some patients with Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, and polyposis syndrome. A video capsule has also been designed for visualizing the esophagus in order to detect Barrett’s esophagus or esophageal varices. Different capsules are now available and differ with regard to dimensions, image acquisition rate, battery life, field of view, and possible optical enhancements. More recently, the use of VCE has been extended to exploring the colon. Within the last 5 years, tremendous developments have been made toward increasing the capabilities of the colon capsule. Although colon capsule cannot be proposed as a first-line colorectal cancer screening procedure, colon capsule may be used in patients with incomplete colonoscopy or in patients who are unwilling to undergo colonoscopy. In the near future, new technological developments will improve the diagnostic yield of VCE and broaden its therapeutic capabilities.

The performance of gravel bedload predictor equations is particularly poor.A key reason for this situation is the current poor understanding of the physical mechanisms that are involved in the entrainment of grains from water-worked sediment *** has been caused,in part,by a lack of detailed data on the behaviour of moving sediment *** this study,observations of the entrainment, transport and deposition of many particles from a gravel bed has been collected and studied using an image-based *** system was used to measure the motion of hundreds of gravel particles moving as *** paper describes the development of the image-based system and the data processing methods used to provide the automated measurement of particle *** system was adapted from commercially available pIV equipment and was configured to obtain simultaneously data for the analysis of the moving grains and the near-bed flow *** techniques developed are relatively sensitive to sediment colour and shape by using related image processing algorithms and so could be applied to natural gravel *** results(image data)obtained from the techniques developed are amended in a program by using two functions(commands)of image processing called "Label2RGB",and "Regionprops" which distinguish the colour and shape of moving sediment grains *** data processing provided information that identified individual grain entrainments,*** accurately traced the motion of some,but not all,*** show that the system was able to estimate grain entrainment rates and indicate locations of preferential entrainment and deposition from data on hundreds of individual moving grains.

Ecological interactions are of paramount importance for the functioning and health of ecosystems. phytophagous insects are part of complex ecological networks involving abiotic factors, host plants, natural enemies, and benefi- cial organisms （McLean et al., 2016）. Insects and plants are also associated durably or transitorily with a wealth of microbes including pathogens, commensals and beneficial partners from a vast array of microbial taxa （Sugio et al., 2015）. In recent years, evidence has accumulated that microbes directly or indirectly influence plant-insect interactions at individual, population and community levels.

psychological controversies in gastroparesis: A systematic review

To systematically review literature addressing three key psychologically-oriented controversies associated with *** comprehensive search of pubMed, CINAHL, and psycINFO databases was performed to identify literature addressing the relationship between gastroparesis and psychological factors. Two researchers independently screened all references. Inclusion criteria were: an adult sample of gastroparesis patients, a quantitative methodology, and at least one of the following: (1) evaluation of the prevalence of psychopathology; (2) an outcome measure of anxiety, depression, or quality of life; and (3) evidence of a psychological intervention. Case studies, review articles, and publications in languages other than English were excluded from the current *** of psychopathology was evaluated by three studies (n = 378), which found that combined anxiety/depression was present in 24% of the gastroparesis cohort, severe anxiety in 12.4%, depression in 21.8%-23%, and somatization in 50%. Level of anxiety and depression was included as an outcome measure in six studies (n = 1408), and while limited research made it difficult to determine the level of anxiety and depression in the cohort, a clear positive relationship with gastroparesis symptom severity was evident. Quality of life was included as an outcome measure in 11 studies (n = 2076), with gastroparesis patients reporting lower quality of life than population norms, and a negative relationship between quality of life and symptom severity. One study assessed the use of a psychological intervention for gastroparesis patients (n = 120) and found that depression and gastric function were improved in patients who received psychological intervention, however the study had considerable methodological *** is associated with significant psychological distress and poor quality of life.
