Nano-sized reinforcements imp.oved the mechanical characteristics efficiently by p.omoting more imp.icit p.rticle hardening mechanisms comp.red to micron-sized ***-sized p.rticles lessen the critical p.rticle solidification velocity for swamp.and thus offers better *** the p.esent investigation,the friction stir p.ocessing(FSp.is utilized to p.oduce AZ31/Al_(2)O_(3)nanocomp.sites at various tool rotation sp.eds(i.e.,900,1200,and 1500 rp.)with an op.imized 1.5%volume alumina(Al_(2)O_(3))reinforcement *** mechanical and corrosion behavior of AZ31/Al_(2)O_(3)-develop.d nanocomp.sites was investigated and comp.red with that of the AZ31 base *** AZ31 alloy exp.rienced a comp.ehensive dynamic recrystallization during FSp.causing substantial grain ***-size strengthening is the p.imary factor contributed to the enhancement in the strength of the fabricated *** strength and yield strength values were lower than those for the base metal matrix,although an up.ard trend in both values has been observed with an increase in tool rotation *** 19.72%increase in hardness along with sup.rior corrosion resistance was achieved comp.red to the base alloy at a tool rotational sp.ed of 1500 *** corrosion currents(Jcorr)of all samp.es drop.ed with increase in the rotational sp.ed,in contrast to the corrosion p.tentials(Ecorr),which *** values of Jcorr of AZ31/Al_(2)O_(3)were 42.3%,56.8%,and 65.5%lower than those of AZ31 alloy at the chosen rotating sp.eds of 900,1200,and 1500 rp.,*** corrosion behavior of friction stir p.ocessed nanocomp.sites have been addressed in this manuscrip. which has not been given sufficient attention in the existing ***,this work offers an effective choice for the quality assurance of the FSp.p.ocess of AZ31/Al_(2)O_(3)*** obtained results are relevant to the develop.ent of lightweight automobile and aerosp.ce structures and comp.nents

Background: Following coronary artery byp.ss grafting (CABG), delirium emerges as a p.evalent comp.ication. This study aimed to assess the correlation between elevated serum cortisol levels and the occurrence of p.stop.rative delirium subsequent to off-p.mp.CABG. Methods: Conducted in the Dep.rtment of Cardiac Surgery at BSMMU from October 2020 to Sep.ember 2022, this comp.rative cross-sectional study included a total of 44 p.rticip.nts. Subjects, meeting sp.cific criteria, were p.rp.sefully assigned to two group. based on off-p.mp.CABG. Group.A (n = 22) consisted of p.tients with normal serum cortisol levels, while Group.B (n = 22) comp.ised individuals with high serum cortisol levels on the first p.stop.rative day. Delirium onset was assessed at the bedside in the ICU on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th p.stop.rative days using standard tools, namely the Richmond Agitation Sedation score (RASS) and The Confusion Assessment Method (CAM-ICU). Data were collected based on the p.esence or absence of delirium. Statistical analysis utilized Sp.S version 26.0, emp.oying an indep.ndent Student’s t-test for continuous data and chi-square and Fischer’s exact test for categorical data. A p.value ≤ 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Group.A had a mean age of 54.50 ± 17.97, and Group.B had a mean age of 55.22 ± 15.45, both with a male p.edominance (81.81% and 86.36% resp.ctively). The mean serum cortisol level was significantly higher in Group.B (829.71 ± vs. 389.98 ± 68.77). p.stop.rative delirium occurred in 27.3% of Group.B p.tients, statistically significant comp.red to the 4.5% in Group.A. However, p.tients in Group.B who develop.d delirium exp.rienced significantly longer p.stop.rative ICU and hosp.tal stays (79.29 ± 12.27 vs. 11.44 ± 2.85, p.≤ 0.05). There was one mortality in Group.B, which was statistically not significant. p.rcell's Swimmer Revisited

p.rcell’s swimmer was p.op.sed by E. M. p.rcell to exp.ain bacterial swimming motions. It has been p.oved exp.rimentally that a swimmer of this kind is p.ssible under inertial-less and high viscous environment. But we could not investigate all the asp.cts of this mechanism through exp.riments due to p.actical difficulties. The comp.tational fluid dynamics (CFD) p.ovides comp.ementary methods to exp.rimental fluid dynamics. In p.rticular, these methods offer the means of testing theoretical advances for conditions unavailable exp.rimentally. Using such methodology, we have investigated the fluid dynamics of force p.oduction associated with the p.rcell’s swimmer. By emp.oying dynamic mesh and user-defined functions, we have comp.ted the transient flow around the swimmer for various stroke angles. Our simulations cap.ure the bidirectional swimming p.op.rty successfully and are in agreement with existing theoretical and exp.rimental results. To our knowledge, this is the first CFD study which shows the fact that swimming direction dep.nds on stroke angle. We also p.ove that for small flap.ing frequencies, swimming direction can also be altered by changing frequency-showing breakdown of Stokes law with inertia.

Nanotechnology has taken a firm step.to revolutionize the field of orthop.dic imp.ants. Current research on bone imp.ants focuses to develop.imp.ants with multifaceted functions viz., osteoinduction, chemop.evention, antimicrobial action etc., esp.cially for cancerous bone resection. The objective of the p.esent study was to synthesize a novel comp.site for bone imp.ants, p.ssessing the above p.op.rties. Selenium was selected owing to its chemop.eventive and chemotherap.utic p.op.rties. Hydroxyap.tite was selected owing to its bioactivity and similarity in comp.sition to bone mineral p.op.rties. Selenium nanop.rticles were p.ep.red by chemical reduction method and coated with ***-coated selenium nanop.rticle（HASnp. was characterized p.ysico-chemically using fourier transform infrared sp.ctroscop., X-ray diffractometry, scanning electron microscop., and energy-disp.rsive X-ray *** was analysed in vitro using SaOS-2 cell line. Enhanced cell p.oliferation and alkaline p.osp.atase activity were observed in HASnp.treated cells. The results indicate that HASnp.is highly suitable for the use in orthop.dic ap.lications.

Stability Analysis of p.rallel Fuzzy p.+ Fuzzy I + Fuzzy D Control Systems

The study p.esented in this p.p.r is in continuation with the p.p.r p.blished by the authors on p.rallel fuzzy p.op.rtional p.us fuzzy integral p.us fuzzy derivative （Fp.＋ FI ＋ FD） controller. It addresses the stability analysis of p.rallel Fp.＋ FI ＋ FD controller. The famous＂small gain theorem＂ is used to study the bounded-inp.t and bounded-outp.t （BIBO） stability of the fuzzy controller. Sufficient BIBO-stability conditions are develop.d for p.rallel Fp.＋ FI ＋ FD controller. Fp.＋ FI ＋ FD controller is derived from the conventional p.rallel p.op.rtional p.us integral p.us derivative （p.D） controller. The p.rallel Fp.＋ FI ＋ FD controller is actually a nonlinear controller with variable gains. It shows much better set-p.int tracking, disturbance rejection and noise sup.ression for nonlinear p.ocesses as comp.red to conventional p.D controller.

Recently a lot of medical tablets with sp.cial p.ckets in the global market are available. For the safety and p.rity of the tablet, we need to scan it by develop.d scanner technology, which should be not more exp.nsive and easily available in the market. The THz technology is one of them. In the p.op.sed work, we have tasted tablet images with the help.of the THz sup.r-resolution scanner, which is already available in our lab. The AI machine learning data concep. has been investigated. Good resolution of images has been obtained. Furthermore, the challenging research p.oblems are discussed. Finally, it summarizes the recent up.ates in terahertz technology for drug insp.ction and medical ap.lications with p.tential research challenges.

Microstructural observations on the terminal p.netration of long rod p.ojectile

p.esent study focuses on the terminal p.netration of tungsten heavy alloy(WHA) long rod p.netrator imp.cted against armour steel at an imp.ct velocity of 1600 m/s. The residual p.netrator and armour steel target recovered after the ballistic test have been characterized using op.ical microscop., scanning electron microscop.(SEM) and electron p.obe micro analyzer(Ep.A). Metallurgical changes in target steel and WHA remnant have been analysed. Large shear stresses and shear localization have resulted in local failure and formation of erosion p.oducts. Severe p.astic deformation acts as p.ecursor for formation of adiabatic shear band(ASB) induced cracks in target steel. Recovered WHA p.netrator remnant also exhibits severe p.astic deformation forming localized shear bands, ASB induced cracks and shock induced cracks.

Background: Acute lymp.oblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common p.ediatric malignancy, is a heterogeneous hematologic disease. ALL p.tients may p.esent with isolated and p.rsistent osteo-articular comp.aints, lower incidence of hep.tomegaly, sp.enomegaly or lymp.adenop.thy without clear laboratory features, and misdiagnosed as systemic juvenile idiop.thic arthritis (sJIA). Methods: This was a single center cross sectional study over a p.riod of 4 years. Clinic laboratory p.ofiles of 39 ALL children were comp.red with 39 age and sex-matched sJIA cases. Result: Among 39 ALL p.tients 89.7% were initially misdiagnosed as sJIA up.n clinical p.esentation. Majority (66.7%) of ALL p.tients had oligo-articular joint involvement. In sJIA, small joints of the hands were most commonly involved. The total WBC count was significantly higher in ALL p.tients (p.value 0.0065). CRp.and LDH values between the two group. showed significant differences (p.value 0.00006 and 0.00001 resp.ctively). Conclusion: The p.esentation of leukemia with arthralgia or arthritis makes the diagnosis difficult for the p.ysicians. The diagnosis of sJIA must be made with caution keep.ng the p.ssibility of haematological malignancy in mind.
