Rap.d radiations in Fungi are only beginning to be studied with p.ylogenomic *** evolutionary history of the lichenized fungal order p.ltigerales has not been well resolved,p.rticularly for the ***,we used concatenation and coalescent-based sp.cies tree methods to reconstruct the p.ylogeny of the p.ltigerales based on sequences of 125 nuclear single-cop. exon sequences among 60 samp.es,rep.esenting 58 *** uneven,lineage-sp.cific missing data and significant top.logical incongruence of individual exon trees,the resulting p.ylogenies were concordant and successfully resolved the p.ylogenetic relationship. of the *** in the Collematineae were defined by short branches and lower nodal sup.ort than in other p.rts of the tree,due in p.rt to conflicting signal in exon trees,suggesting rap.d diversification events in the early evolution of the *** tree distance measures,we were able to identify a minimum subset of exons that could reconstruct p.ylogenetic relationship. in p.ltigerales with higher sup.ort than the 125-exon *** between the minimum and comp.ete datasets in sp.cies tree inferences,bip.rtition analyses,and divergence time estimations disp.ayed similar results,although the minimum dataset was characterized by higher levels of error in estimations of divergence *** our inferences from the comp.ete and minimum datasets to those derived from few nuclear and mitochondrial loci reveal that our top.logy is concordant with top.logies reconstructed using the nuclear large subunit and mitochondrial small subunit ribosomal DNA markers,but the target cap.ure datasets had much higher sup.ort *** demonstrated how target cap.ure ap.roaches can effectively decip.er ancient rap.d radiations in cases where well resolved individual exon trees are sufficiently samp.ed and how to identify subsets of loci that are ap.rop.iate for fungal order-level p.ylogenetics.

The p.esent study was conducted to determine the p.o-biotic p.op.rties in vitro of the lactic acid bacteria isolated from sp.ntaneously fermenting kunu-zaki. Kunu-zaki was p.ocessed using comp.site, non comp.site, germinated and ungerminated Digitaria exilis (Fonio), Sorghum bicolor (Sorghum) and p.nnisetum americanum (Millet) cereals. A total of 150 LAB isolates were obtained from all the fermenting slurries. These 150 LAB isolates were screened for their ability to grow at p. 3.0, resistance against bile salt and ability to inhibit reference test p.thogens. Out of these 150 LAB isolates;21 exhibited good p.obiotic p.op.rties. All the 21 isolates were further identified to sp.cie and subsp.cies level using standard Ap.50CHL system with all 21 showing good survival (p.p. 3.0 buffered medium and subsequent resistance to 0.3% bile. The LAB isolates which survived these conditions consisted of 18 Lactobacillus sp.cies, 2 p.diococcus sp.cies and 1 Lactococcus sp.cie. These LAB sp.cies were further examined for antimicrobial activity against the growth of reference p.thogens Stap.ylococcus aureus 25923, Escherichia coli 25922, p.eudomonas aeruginosa 27853 and Enterococcus faecalis 29212. All 21 LAB sp.cies exhibited good inhibition of all test reference p.thogens excep. Lactobacillus fructivorans, Lactococcus lactis sp.lactis and L. fermentum which however, showed no zone of inhibition against the growth of E. faecalis. Kunu-zaki made from comp.site un-germinated Sorghum bicolor (Sorghum) and p.nnisetum americanum (Millet) cereal grains contained the highest p.rcentage (52%) of LAB sp.cies which showed good p.obiotic criteria in vitro. Non comp.site ungerminated cereals accounted for 33% of the total p.obiotic LAB isolates whilst the germinated non comp.site and comp.site cereals recorded the lowest p.rcentage (10%) and (5%) of p.obiotic LAB resp.ctively. Background: Unicystic ameloblastoma arises from similar tissues as the odontogenic cysts. It may also arise from the ep.thelial lining of these cysts. Furthermore, the ep.thelial lining of unicystic ameloblastoma is variable and may be almost comp.etely nondescrip., which may lead to diagnostic confusion with odontogenic cysts. Calretinin is a calcium-binding p.otein that has been suggested to be a sp.cific immunohistochemical marker for ameloblastic tissues. The aim of this study was to investigate the usefulness of calretinin in the differentiating unicystic ameloblastoma from odontogenic keratocyst, dentigerous cyst and radicular cyst of the jaws. Materials and Methods: Formalin-fixed, p.raffin embedded tissue blocks of 23 unicystic ameloblastomas, 6 odontogenic keratocysts, 8 dentigerous cysts and 10 radicular cysts were utilized. Five micrometer thick sections were made from the tissue blocks and mounted on silanized glass slides. Immunohistochemical staining was done using a 1:100 dilution of mouse monoclonal anti-calretinin p.imary antibodies (Abcam, SA;Clone 1F5H1) and incubating overnight at 4°C. The staining reaction was visualised using diaminobenzidine substrate solution. Stained tissue sections were evaluated for the p.esence, distribution, and intensity of staining of the immunoreactive cells. Data analysis was done using Sp.S version 23. Statistical tests emp.oyed were Chi square test and Kruskal-Wallis test. The level of significance was set at 95% (p.value Results: Calretinin exp.ession was seen in 14 (60.9%) cases of unicystic ameloblastoma, 3 (50.0%) cases of odontogenic keratocyst and a lone (12.5%) case of dentigerous cyst. None of the 10 cases of radicular cyst showed p.sitive exp.ession of calretinin. Staining in unicystic ameloblastoma was mostly localized to the sup.rficial layers, whereas in odontogenic keratocyst it involved all layers of the ep.thelial lining. ＜正＞ J-domain co-chap.rones confer functional sp.cificity to their HSp.0 p.rtner by p.oviding it with sp.cific substrate p.oteins. To gain insight into the functions of p.astidic HSp.0s we searched in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii databases for ESTs that p.tentially encode J-domain co-chap.rones with chlorop.ast transit p.p.ides;two such cDNAs were found, the encoded J-domain p.oteins were named chlorop.ast DnaJ homolog 1 and 2 （CDJ1 and CDJ2）. CDJ1 is homologous to DnaJ p.oteins involved in p.otein folding and was found to be induced by heat shock and light. CDJ2 was not induced by heat shock. Fermented Callliandra, Gliricidia and Leucaena browses and maize material （milk stage） were ap.lied to the soil to determine their effect on soil p.oductivity. Hop. Red Dye Amaranthus （Amaranthus cruentus） was used as the test crop. Its DM yield was determined. The browse materials had higher total N and narrower C：N ratio than the maize material. Calliandra material had higher levels of insoluble fiber （ADF）, fiber bound N （ADFN） and lignin. Ap.lication of the browse and maize materials raised C, N, and C：N ratio of the soil in which they were ap.lied comp.red to the control soil. The treated soils maintained higher levels of C and N and a narrower C：N ratio up.to the third crop. Amaranthus DM yield was highest （p.〈 0.05） with browse treatments. Treatment with maize material did not have DM yield advantage over the control soil. Treatments with browse materials could have given higher yields because the materials had more N and fermentation could not only have increased the p.op.rtion of soluble N, but also degradability of the materials, thus making the N and other nutrients in the fermented materials available for p.ant growth. DM yield was highest （p.〈_ 0.05） with the first and third crop. but lowest （p.〈 0.05） with the second crop. p.ant growth in the second crop.could have coincided with high demand for the N by the soil micro-organisms decomp.sing the added materials. During the third crop. decomp.sition of the readily degradable comp.nents of the added materials could have been comp.ete and the N became available for p.ant growth. DM yield drop.ed （p.〈 0.05） with the fourth crop.as the available N could have been dep.eted from the soil for p.ant growth.
