Structural and Dielectric Studies of Gd Dop.d ZnO Nanocrystals at Room Temp.rature

Gadolinium dop.d Zinc oxide (Zn1–xGdxO) nanocrystals with different p.rcentage of Gd content (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8) have been p.ep.red by the solid state reaction method. The structural, mor-p.ological and chemical studies of the samp.es were p.rformed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscop. (SEM) and Energy disp.rsive X-ray (EDX) analysis. The XRD sp.ctra confirm that all the samp.es have hexagonal wurtzite structure. Decrease in average crystallite size with an increase in Gd concentration is observed in XRD. SEM images show that the grain size of undop.d ZnO is larger than the Gd dop.d ZnO, sp.cifying the hindrance of grain growth up.n Gd dop.ng. The chemical comp.sition of the samp.es was confirmed using Energy disp.rsive X-ray (EDX) analysis. The variation of dielectric constant (εr), dielectric loss (tan δ) and AC conductivity as a function of frequency is studied at room temp.rature in a frequency which ranges from 100 Hz - 4.5 MHz by using LCR Hi TESTER. All the samp.es exhibit the normal dielectric behavior, i.e. decreases with increase in frequency which has been exp.ained in the light of Maxwell-Wagner model. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss can be varied intensely by tuning Gd concentration in Zn1–xGdxO comp.unds.

Erbium dop.d ZnO nanocrystals were synthesized through solid state reaction route. A detailed structural study was carried out by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) data. This work investigates the changes occurred to the hexagonal wurtzite crystal lattice of ZnO due to the incorp.ration of Er3+ based on crystalline size. The chemical comp.sition of the samp.es was confirmed using Energy Disp.rsive Sp.ctra (EDS) data analysis. Decrease in average crystallite size with increase in rare earth concentration was observed in XRD. The frequency dep.ndence of dielectric constant (εr), dielectric loss (tanδ) and AC conductivity of p.re and rare earth dop.d ZnO were calculated and well exp.ained with Maxwell-Weigner model.

A mercury biosensor was constructed by integrating biosensor genetic elements into E. coli JM109 chromosome in a single cop. number, using the attp.attB recombination mechanism of λ p.age. The genetic elements used include a regulatory p.otein gene （merR） along with op.rator/p.omoter （O/p. derived from the mercury resistance op.ron from p.U1358 p.asmid of Serratia marcescens. The exp.ession of rep.rter gene gfp.is also controlled by merR/O/p. Integration of the construct into the chromosome was done to increase the stability and p.ecision of the biosensor. This biosensor could detect Hg（Ⅱ） ions in the concentration range of 100–1700 nmol/L, and manifest the result as the exp.ession of GFp. The GFp.exp.ession was significantly different （p.0.05） for each concentration of inducing Hg（Ⅱ） ions in the detection range, which reduces the chances of misinterp.etation of results. A model using regression method was also derived for the quantification of the concentration of Hg（Ⅱ） in water samp.es.

We successfully synthesize four kinds of ZnO nano/microcrystals including dumbbell microrods, nanoflakes, nanop.ates, and microrods by a simp.e wet chemical method. Growth duration is found to p.ay a crucial role in the morp.ologies of these ZnO nano/microcrystallites. In addition, growth conditions are systematically studied as a function of p.ecursor concentration and temp.rature. AIM: To elucidate the association of treatment modality to vitreoretinal fibrosis and traction retinal detachment(TRD) in Coats' ***: A p.bMed search for Coats' disease with included studies describing eyes with clinical features and treatment course of Coats' disease. Binary logistic regression with fibrosis at p.esentation and treatment typ. as indep.ndent variables was p.rformed to determine p.edictors of TRD historically(since 1921) and in the antivascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) era(since2007). Odds ratios(OR) with 95% confidence intervals(CI)***: Of 175 articles described 1183 eyes. Vitreoretinal fibrosis increased from p.esentation(5.4%) to follow-up.15.5%) and TRD increased from 0.44% to 3.9% at follow up. Laser was p.otective against vitreoretinal fibrosis(OR0.6, 95%CI 0.4-0.9) but TRD was borderline(OR 0.6, 95%CI0.3-1.1). Cryotherap. showed a higher association with TRD(OR 1.9, 95%CI 1.0-3.7) than with vitreoretinal fibrosis(OR 0.8, 95%CI 0.5-1.2). Similarly, intravitreal anti-VEGF alone was not associated with fibrosis(OR 1.1, 95%CI 0.6-1.8) nor TRD(OR 1.1, 95%CI 0.5-2.6) but the combination of laser and anti-VEGF therap. was p.otective [Fibrosis: 0.1(0.03, 0.35); TRD: 0.05(0.01, 0.23)] comp.red to anti-VEGF p.us cryotherap.(p.0.001). Disease stage ≤2 B or ≥3 A was not associated with ***: Vitreoretinal fibrosis and TRD increase after treatment in Coats' disease. The combination of antiVEGF agents and cryotherap. may lead to higher risk for TRD. p.esence of p.e-treatment fibrosis is the highest risk factor for p.st-treatment worsening of vitreoretinal fibrosis and TRD.

Background The Anxiety Symp.oms Questionnaire(ASQ)is a brief self-rep.rt questionnaire which measures frequency and intensity of symp.oms and was develop.d to imp.ove assessment of anxiety symp.oms in a clinical *** examined the reliability and validity of the ASQ in p.tients with anxiety disorders and/or dep.ession,nonclinical control subjects and college *** 240 outp.tients with generalised anxiety disorder,social anxiety disorder,p.nic disorder or major dep.essive disorder were administered the ASQ and additional questionnaires measuring dep.ession and anxiety,as were 111 non-clinical control subjects and 487 college *** analysis,p.arson's correlation coefficients and logistic regression were used to assess reliability and ***-retest reliability of the ASQ was measured using a subset who were re-administered the ASQ after 4 *** Factor analysis revealed measurement of a single dimension by the *** consistency and test-retest reliability were *** ASQ total score also significantly distinguished p.tients with an anxiety disorder from the clinical controls above and beyond the clinicianrated Hamilton Anxiety *** The ASQ is a valid,reliable and effective self-rated measure of anxiety and may be a useful tool for screening and assessing anxiety symp.oms in p.ychiatric as well as college settings.
