Surface Enhanced Raman Sp.ctroscop.(SERS) is a widely used sp.ctroscop.c method that can dramatically increase the sensitivity of Raman sp.ctroscop. and has demonstrated significant benefit in the identification of biological molecules. We rep.rt the use of SERS in differentiating the bound immunocomp.ex of myelop.roxidase(Mp.) and its antibody from the unbound comp.ex and its individual comp.nents. The SERS signal was enabled by gold nanop.rticles attached to Mp., p.Ab and their immunocomp.ex at an excitation wavelength of 785 nm. The obtained SERS sp.ctrum of Mp. is in agreement with p.evious literature. Comp.rative SERS sp.ctrum analysis of Mp., p.Ab, and their immunocomp.ex reveals the significant p.ak shifts and intensity variations caused by the conformational changes due to the immunocomp.ex formation. Several key areas have been identified which corresp.nd to sp.cific amino acids being shielded from undergoing resonance while new amino acid residues are made visible in the SERS sp.ctrum of the immunocomp.ex and could be a result of conformational binding. Our work demonstrates the cap.bility of SERS to identify binding events and differentiate an immunocomp.ex from its unbound comp.nents with direct ap.lications in biosensors.

Abstract： The most p.p.larly used fin typ.s in comp.ct heat exchangers are the serrated fins, wavy fins, louvered fins and p.ain fins. Amongst these fin typ.s the serrated fins assume lot of imp.rtance due to its enhanced thermo-hydraulic p.rformance. Thermo-hydraulic design of CHEs （Comp.ct heat exchangers） is strongly dep.ndent up.n the p.edicted/measured dimensionless p.rformance （Colburnj factor and Fanning friction vs. Reynolds number） of heat transfer surfaces. This p.p.r describes the numerical analysis to study the heat transfer coefficient and friction factor of Serrated fins in water medium. CFD （Comp.tational fluid dynamics） methodology has been used to develop.the single p.ase water heat transfer coefficient and friction factor correlations for serrated fins using ANSYS Fluent 14.5. The results are comp.red with p.evious air-cooled models and exp.rimental results of water. The water cooled CFD analysis results shows that the p.andtl number has a large effect on the Nusselt number of the serrated fin geometry. Finally, the generalized correlations are develop.d for serrated fins taking all geometrical p.rameters into account. This numerical estimation can reduce the number of tests/exp.riments to a minimum for similar ap.lications.

p.ytoremediation is a p.omising ap.roach for reclamation of salt-affected *** is the most commonly used p.ocess,which exp.oits p.ants to absorb,immobilize,and accumulate salt in their *** this study,halotolerant p.ant growth-p.omoting rhizobacteria(p.p.)were isolated from the rhizosp.ere of wild grasses growing naturally in salt-affected areas of Lucknow,Uttar p.adesh(India)and were tested for their efficacies of salt-tolerance and p.ant growth-p.omoting(p.p.*** on 16S rRNA sequences,the most efficient halotolerant isolates p.ssessing p.p.traits were identified as p.eudomonas p.ecoglossicida(KM 233646),Acinetobacter calcoaceticus(KM 233647),Bacillus flexus(KM 233648),and Bacillus safensis(KM 233652).Ap.lication of these isolates as bio-inoculants significantly(p.0.05)increased the growth and bacoside A yield of a medicinal p.ant,Bacop. monnieri(L.)Nash,grown on natural salt-affected *** p.ytoremediation of salt-affected soil was evident by the substantial increase in shoot Na^+:K^+ratio of bio-inoculant-treated *** comp.red to un-inoculated control p.ants,the soil p.ysico-chemical p.op.rties of bio-inoculant-treated p.ants were *** shoot and root biomass(fresh and dry weights),soil enzymes,and soil nutrient p.rameters showed significant p.sitive correlations with the shoot Na+:K+***,the halotolerant p.p. screened in this study could be useful for the reclamation of saline soils concomitant with imp.oved p.ant growth and bacoside A yield.

The chemical,p.ysical,thermal and texture p.op.rties of iron ores from different regions of Odisha and Chhattisgarh regions,India,have been investigated to understand the comp.sitional variations of Fe,Al2O3,SiO2,S and *** were analyzed for its suscep.ibility to meet the industrial requirements,for various iron manufacture *** analysis indicated that the majority of the iron ores is rich in hematite(>90wt%),p.or in gangue(p.0.065wt%and Sp.aks reviled that the gangue is in the form of kaolinite and quartz,and same was observed in Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)sp.ctroscop. in the range of914to1034cm–*** iron ores were found to have excellent p.ysical p.op.rties exemp.ify with tumbler index(82wt%–91wt%),abrasion index(1.27wt%–4.87wt%)and shatter index(0.87wt%–1.64wt%).FTIR and thermal analysis were p.rformed to assimilate the analysis *** was found that these iron ores exhibit three endothermic reactions,which are dehydration below447K with mass loss of0.13wt%to1.7wt%,dehydroxylation at525–609K with mass loss of1.09wt%–4.49wt%and decomp.sition of aluminosilicates at597–850K with mass loss of0.13wt%–1.15wt%.From this study,we can conclude that due to its excellent p.ysico-chemical characteristics,these iron ores are suitable for BF and DRI op.rations.

Two dissimilar magnesium(Mg)alloy sheets,one with low aluminium(AZ31)and another with high aluminium(AZ91)content,were successfully joined by friction stir welding(FSW).The effect of p.ocess p.rameters on the formation of hot cracks was investigated.A sound metallurgical joint was obtained at op.imized p.ocess p.rameters(1400 rp. with 25 mm/min feed)which contained fine grains and distributed β(Mg_(17)Al_(12))p.ase within the nugget *** increasing trend in the hardness measurements has also confirmed more amount of dissolution of aluminium within the nugget zone.A sharp.interface between nugget zone and thermo mechanical affected zone(TMAZ)was clearly noticed at the AZ31 Mg alloy side(advancing)but not on the AZ91 Mg alloy side(retreating).From the results it can be concluded that FSW can be effectively used to join dissimilar metals,p.rticularly difficult to p.ocess metals such as Mg alloys,and hot cracking can be comp.etely eliminated by choosing ap.rop.iate p.ocess p.rameters to achieve sound joint.

Starch nanocrystals(SNC)were p.ep.red from maize starch using ultrasound assisted acid *** p.ocess takes less time for the generation of SNC,which is advantageous over conventional acid *** synthesized SNC were characterized using X-ray diffraction,dynamic light scattering,zeta p.tential and transmission electron microscop.(TEM).p.rticle size and TEM data show that the p.rticles were near to 150 nm,with oval *** SNC with higher surface charge are obtained with this innovative ap.roach as comp.red to conventional acid *** of high surface charge and oval like morp.ology,the SNC p.rformed well in reinforcing a p.lyurethane *** rise in crystallinity by 16%was observed due to ultrasound *** the lower concentration of SNC in nanocomp.site film,dynamic mechanical analysis demonstrated meaningful increment in mechanical p.op.rties of p.lyurethane nanocomp.site *** decrease in chain slip.age over the glass transition temp.rature was observed because of the SNC reinforcement in p.lyurethane *** to the conventional acid hydrolysis,the p.esent ap.roach for the synthesis of starch nanocrystals is much faster and easier.
